    Transcript:
This is the National Tattoo video on the Stigma Rotary Prodigy. The Prodigy is an infinitely adjustable machine from super soft to super hard hitting just by turning the thumb screw on top of the machine. The Prodigy comes standard with the 4.5 watt motor plug with an RCA plug in it and a medium Excenter. It can also be powered by the super powerful 10 watt motor plug that can be purchased separately through National. It also can use any of the four excenters. The short excenter is 2.6-3.6mm, the medium is 3.5-4.5mm, that is what comes standard on the machine. The long is a 4.4-5.5mm and the adjustable is a 2.5-6mm, which also can be purchased separately through National. The motorplugs and the excenters can be changed in seconds. Now, to help avoid cross-contamination, the motorplug can be bagged separately or the entire machine all together at once. The machine bodies are machined from a solid block of aircraft aluminum and are fully autoclavable. They are anodized in an assortment of colors. The Prodigy features also a needle bar stabilizing system so no rubber bands are needed. It accepts all standard 5 5/8" length needle bars and tubes. The machine head weighs only 1.4 oz. or 2.9 oz. with the motor plug attached. There is also a clipcord upgrade kit available for purchase separately through National. We carry all the motorplugs and the excenters and every accessory part for Stigma machines.
Now I'd like to touch on, this is the adjustment screw I was talking about. So I'm going to touch on a few things here. I'm going to add here I have a 4 flat needle bar with a tube, tip and grip. I'm going to place this into the machine. Now I will also, when I have this in place, I will touch on, in case you don't own a Stigma or know anybody who does, this is the needle bar stabilizing system. A very ingenious system, you just set that the way you want to keep your needle bar where you want it. I'll set my points to the end of the tip. Now I'll run the machine for you and show you some of the adjustment. This is roughly 6.5 volts. Now I will tune the machine. We'll go back the other way, let you hear the difference. This is without changing voltage at all. This is quite an ingenious design. You can hear the difference in running. And also, just for anyone who doesn't own one, this is the easy plug motor system. Like I said, this comes with the 4.5 watt motor. We also have a 10 watt motor and the excenters are changeable in seconds. The whole thing can be disassembled and reassembled and ready to go in a matter of seconds.

I love mine. Actually own 2 of them. Everything works just like shown. Awesome for both lining and shading.

This is 4,5W (45g) motor on this video, 10w(90g) motor much more power , and is bigger-this information is unobtainable on internet(weight 10w motorplug). Stigma Prodigy with 4,5 motor weight 87g and 10w motor 130g but is overweight on back and very uncomfortable on plastic tubes.

I loved my Prodigy with the 10w motor plug...for all of 3 months until the tiny eensy-weensy motor shaft snapped last week in mid session. I have no idea why they run such a powerful motor on such a tiny shaft. It was destined to snap. :/ Now I have to go through the long process of sending it back...getting a replacement. At least Sigma has great customer service.

If you tighten the knob too tightly on the grip, the needle will go forward and stop and wont vibrate work.

Tell me this, how the he'll am I supposed to keep the 2 small Allen screws in place that are on the rca plug, mine vibrate out and there's no way to tighten them, they screw all the way in because there's no back plate to tighten against

Hey)Thanks for the video! Today the first time I worked with the Prodigy machine and with 10v hard motorplug and great disappointment because the motor falls out of the machine frame(( why motors not keep stable? can i glue them?

It's not a Dragonfly copy at all. It just has a somewhat similar shape. In my opinion, every Stigma Rotary machine has "personality," but it's only going to stand out depending on what you're doing with it. The Dragonfly is a great machine, yes, but it's known for it's shading abilities, inflexibility, and having one of the first needle stabilizers. It's a great machine, but the Prodigy has an interchangeable motor (and options between 4.5v and 10v) and great versatility for lining and shading.

Anyone have experience with rotarys? Do they last a long time? Also which is the best over all? Which machines are good for liner? shading and colour packing?. And also which machine has similar power and qualities to a coil machine? Im Trying to do my research and want to know what people think. Ive heard good things about dragonfly for shading. But which one is good for liner? Cheers :)

Hey Lara Michelle, what is important with coils is OHMS & Stroke Length, Frame Geometry. Capacitor UF Rating, Spring Tension, etc..
Rotary's are simple, Stroke Length, RPMS, So typically you have 6,000 RPMS to 20,000 RPMS.
You can adjust stroke Length thru bearings, & a hit adjustment knob if applicable.
Just adjust volts.. no duty to worry about Rotary's have a duty of 99% to 100% since they are always on. A Settle or Follow Thru or Amps of 0%
So the only variable is voltage.
It is a little different from coils. Just hit Some fruits honeydew mellons or practice skin or craft foam. Before skin.
Actually Rotary's are the great equalizer.
As for longevity, Typically 2,000 to 3,000 hours of operation. The motors will either need replicating or new bearings.
The body's are either cast aluminum, zinc, plastic, or C.N.C. Machined Billet Aircraft Aluminum, IMO The Best. Most Accurate method. See Discovery Channel American Choppers, when PJD Did the bike for Farro Arm.
The motors either brush or brushless, brushless is typically referred to as SWISS, MAXON is a Swiss Manufacturer. MABUCHI is typically the manufacturer you find in most brand names & Chinese Knock Offs. MABUCHI is a Japanese company manufacturing motors all over Asia.

Just read my comments in the comments section of the videos. I have posted a few videos yesterday on Rotary's one from maxon explains what a brushless rotary motor is 1 explains how its built. 4 on use.
The Dragon Fly are light I love them. Stealth are light. Bishops are nice as well, Stigma is awesome.
Personally I would never use The Hawk or any machine that locks you into cartridges.
I hope this helps any questions just e-mail me.
Or put a comment on my Google Plus Page.
      Take Care, Bill Kearney

what is the difference between 4.5 Watt or 10 Watt and whats the right powersupply for it

    • @tomaszjones4020
      @tomaszjones4020 10 років тому

All powersupply 1,5-4A is good for this machine. 10Watt more powerful, 50MG no problem. 10W motor weight 90g, 4,5W- 44g + machine wejght 46g. No one say 10w weight :|.

Stigmas are good machines and I got 5 of them, but almost every one of them is a rip off of something... Hyper is a rip off of Swashdrive, Stigma is the first to rip off needle stabilizer from Dragonfly. I know from reliable source that owner of Stigma bought Spektra Halo and tore it apart to see how it runs so perfectly and tried to copy it with Prodigy. I've been tattooing for 22 years, got two Spektras, and it's the best machine I've ever used!

I would definitely be interested in trying Stigma. Oh and to go along with what you're saying.. They got the "Soldier" out now.. Inkjecta? Lol
