Thank you. I’m installing Starlink today and GripperFix will make easier, faster and safer.

That's great to hear, James! Good luck with your installation. And hey, if you'd like to share any photos of your work, just send them along to marketing@s-5.com.

Informative video. Thank you. Just got my new Starlink dish. The base of the dish has 4 holes which are 12" center-to-center. Matches perfectly the seams of our metal roof. Can I use four S5! clamps to attached directly the base of the dish to the roof? Or do I still need a couple of GripperFix strut between the seams? (Maybe you guys have already made a video about this?) Thanks.

Hi, thanks for watching! Mounting Starlinks has become a common application for our GRipperFix system and works well on any standing seam (in addition to exposed-fastened roofs). Materials slightly vary according to roof type. Our distributor Rapid Materials sells a kit for both applications (link is below). If you need any other assistance with your install please contact us at support@s-5.com.

Plus, stay tuned for a Starlink install in a few weeks. Thank you for reaching out.

@@TheMetalRoofingAcademy Thank you for your answer. This is very useful. One last question about the S5 clamps in the kit sold by Rapid Materials. Does it work on all metal roofs? We just had solar panels installed and I believe the solar company used S5-E clamps.

@@davidbrent431 Yes, it can be installed on a variety of standing seam metal roof profiles. You can simply select the S-5-E clamp in the dropdown menu on Rapid Materials' website - buys-5.com/product/satellite-dish-mounting-kit/. If you need a different clamp, just select it from the same list and it will come with the kit.

Great video! Clear information, tool tips, just great instruction overall. I learned a lot about how to attach things to metal roofs and when I went to your website to look up materials for the satellite dish, also discovered the snow retention gear as well! You've solved two problems for me with one video. Also, I liked the fun bits like ya'll busting up over the concrete block solution. I've subscribed and look forward to more videos!

Great vid, thanks! So one thing I'm confused about here is the lateral lockdown of the struts. Once you tighten down the tabs, can't the struts still slide side to side a little? Or is the friction on the roof enough to hold them in place in that direction?

For most applications, friction in combination with the tight tolerances of the rail and tabs prevent lateral movement once everything is assembled. If lateral movement is an issue or concern a 1/2" stainless steel tek screw can be placed in the channel beside the CF or EF tabs to prevent movement. This screw can also be easily removed if the rails ever needed to be modified or removed.
