@@littlecravings I tried this last evening after watching this vid. I was using marfona pots. I scrubbed the pots then peeled, rinse and let them stand for 20 mins (whilst getting other things cooking). I put them under the grill. Was interesting. It's easy to overheat them and need to be cooked "just right" (not under cooked or burnt). They were quite a tasty addition to my meal, some tasted like a "cigar", some "earthy" - what I liked was, it's such a simple idea and yields such flavour for free.
@totaltwit this recipe hits so many points for me: it’s simple, tasty and reduces waste. Yes, the peels can go on my compost heap, but why not eat it? I’m experimenting with zucchini, sweet potatoes and I’m saving vegetable peel for veggie stock. It’s all satisfying. Thank you!,
@@littlecravings Love that kitchen. The stove is beautiful too! Oh yeah! Fantastic potato skin recipe. I have my skins soaking in salt, vinegar water in my kitchen right now! 😜👍

Thank You so much for this great idea of how to use what otherwise would typically go in the garbage, which is such a nutritional waste. Also, I couldn't help but notice your beautiful ovens. I've never seen an oven door open like that. Ingenious! I watched your video full screen and I still couldn't make out the brand name. Will you help me with this? Thanks, Terry.
Hi Terry, thank you for your lovely comment. The oven’s brand is Neff. I hope you find them where you live. I really enjoy the slide and hide doors. Safer than having doors on wall mounted ovens, in my opinion. #neff. Take care!
Hi Jonathan! Thank you for your support! Yes you can deep fry them. Just make sure to dry them well with kitchen roll and then let them air dry for about half an hour. Put enough oil in a pan to deep fry them a handful at a time. Then add your spices and salt as soon as you get them out of the oil! Enjoy!
Yes I would! I would make sure to scrub the skins really well and maybe rinse off as much of the salt as possible, after soaking in salted water. I would add allspice and cayenne pepper for a sweet Caribbean slant! Enjoy!
I had sweet potatoe skins drizzeled with honey as a garnish on a staek at a pub once. Ive been trying to replicate it but can't seem to get there. No one has done a cook video on how to.
Hiya! I’m working on coming back soon and have been working on a few peel recipes, once I crack it, I’ll post a video. Subscribe to get notifications!😊
Even back growing up you only throw potato skins away if bruised or black routing or green skin means it wasn't riped. Washed or soak &cut .this government trying to make us remember but get you to plant your own when you spouts grow put in glass or carton ,even wrapped in wet newspaper and allow to spout some more and then plant in some dirt . Poor person snacks better than tgif.
TV cooking shows and celebrity chefs - no. This is what we want to see, real cooks who know how to make magic from little. Admirable :)
Thank you! That means a lot!

Why soak the peel for so long? I’ve not seen anyone else do this.
I like to soak them for a long time to get rid of impurities. But it’s just a personal preference. Thanks for watching!
I’m doing this right now

How much salt & water did you use to soak the peels? Please & thank you. :-)
Hi! I used enough water to cover the peels and, depending on the amount around 1 tsp of salt, but you can adjust to taste. I like them salty. Enjoy!
15 minutes in over

Great idea IF THEY ARE ORGANIC, otherwise loaded with pesticides, insecticides, and inorganic fertilizer
Absolutely and very good point!
It would be a lot easier to put the dried peels in a bowl and pour over the oil and sprinkle herbs, then mix before spreading.
Good idea!
This is the easiest way to make lays
it’s maybe it’s been soaked for too long
I let them soak so that I can remove as many impurities as possible. 😊
