Instead, he continued to beat his chest and said, ‘O God, be merciful to me, the sinner that I am!’[e] 14 I tell you, this man, rather than the other one, went down to his home justified, because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the person who humbles himself will be exalted.” Jesus Blesses the Little Children 15 Now some people[f] were even bringing their infants to Jesus[g] to have him touch them. But when the disciples saw this, they sternly told the people[h] not to do that. 16 Jesus, however, called for the children[i] and said, “Let the little children come to me, and stop keeping them away, because the kingdom of God belongs to people like these. 17 I tell all of you[j] with certainty, whoever doesn’t receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never get into it at all.” (ISV )

They should listen to them!’ 30 “But the rich man[s] replied, ‘No, father Abraham! But if someone from the dead went to them, they would repent.’ 31 “Then Abraham[t] told him, ‘If your brothers[u] do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded, even if someone were to rise from the dead.’”

16:29 അബ്രാഹാം അവനോടു: അവർക്കു മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവരുടെ വാക്കു അവർ കേൾക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16:30 അതിന്നു അവൻ: അല്ലല്ല, അബ്രാഹാം പിതാവേ, മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവർ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
16:31 അവൻ അവനോടു: അവർ മോശെയുടെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെയും വാക്കു കേൾക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ചെന്നാലും വിശ്വസിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “Once there was a rich man who used to dress in purple and fine linen and live in great luxury every day. 20 A beggar named Lazarus, who was covered with sores, was brought to his gate. 21 He was always trying to satisfy his hunger with what fell[m] from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs used to come and lick his sores.
22 “One day, the beggar died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In the afterlife,[n] where he was in constant torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus by his side. 24 So he shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water to cool off my tongue, because I am suffering in this fire.’
25 “But Abraham said, ‘My child, remember that during your lifetime you received blessings,[o] while Lazarus received hardships.[p] But now he is being comforted here, while you suffer. 26 Besides all this, a wide chasm has been fixed between us, so that those who want to cross from this side to you cannot do so, nor can they cross from your side to us.’
27 “The rich man[q] said, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus[r] to my father’s house- 28 because I have five brothers-to warn them, so that they won’t end up in this place of torture, too.’
29 “Abraham said, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets. They should listen to them!’
30 “But the rich man[s] replied, ‘No, father Abraham! But if someone from the dead went to them, they would repent.’
31 “Then Abraham[t] told him, ‘If your brothers[u] do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded, even if someone were to rise from the dead.’”

10:32 അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ഒരു ലേവ്യനും ആ സ്ഥലത്തിൽ എത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു മാറി കടന്നുപോയി.
10:33 ഒരു ശമര്യക്കാരനോ വഴിപോകയിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു അരികെ ചെന്നു
10:34 എണ്ണയും വീഞ്ഞും പകർന്നു അവന്റെ മുറിവുകളെ കെട്ടി അവനെ തന്റെ വാഹനത്തിൽ കയറ്റി വഴിയമ്പലത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി രക്ഷചെയ്തു.
10:35 പിറ്റെന്നാൾ അവൻ പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ രണ്ടു വെള്ളിക്കാശ് എടുത്തു വഴിയമ്പലക്കാരന്നു കൊടുത്തു: ഇവനെ രക്ഷ ചെയ്യേണം; അധികം വല്ലതും ചെലവിട്ടാൽ ഞാൻ മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ തന്നുകൊള്ളാം എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
10:36 കള്ളന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ അകപ്പെട്ടവന്നു ഈ മൂവരിൽ ഏവൻ കൂട്ടുകാരനായിത്തീർന്നു എന്നു നിനക്കു തോന്നുന്നു?
10:37 അവനോടു കരുണ കാണിച്ചവൻ എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവനോടു “നീയും പോയി അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്ക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Luke 10:30-37 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

20 Then Jesus[n] looked at his disciples and said,
“How blessed are you who are destitute,
because the kingdom of God is yours!
പ്രവൃത്തികൾ 7:22 മോശെ മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ സകലജ്ഞാനവും അഭ്യസിച്ചു വാക്കിലും പ്രവൃത്തിയിലും സമർത്ഥനായിത്തീർന്നു.
22 So Moses learned all the wisdom of the Egyptians and became a great man, both in words and in deeds.
