      I wouldn't be surprised if that happens. It's just not working in Santa Clara, even though the stadium finally popped in 2019 during the Super Bowl run.
      If the Niners ever do get a new stadium, hopefully it's in SF or closer to SF. I wonder if they could do it again, would they have built near Oracle Park and Chase Center? Yeah, that area is kind of congested, but that is an ideal spot in downtown SF with the new development in that part of the city.

    I went to the stadium a year after it was built. We had to park on a golf course across the street (for $40), the sun was unbearable and the concourse was painted a very light gray color that leaves you snowblind just walking though it. I like the look of the design, but there is absolutely nothing special or unique about it. Very sad the fans are stuck with this place.

    • @G-546
      @G-546 2 роки тому +35

      Another fear was cost. The stadium was over budget and adding shades would increase the price. Also shades would do little to solve the problem as they would only cover the upper deck and leave out the middle deck and lower bowl seating. The stadium has a good design but I think that they should have tried to put it closer to the San Francisco Bay. At Candelstick the cold air would come off the bay and into the stadium which made it very cold for night games but ideal for day games which is why it didn’t need shades.

The only big CFB team remotely close is Stanford, and the place struggled to attract fans from the local region for the game (the Pac-12 Championship games also had this problem). I've been to this stadium multiple times, 2 Redbox Bowls, a National Championship, plus, I'm a truck driver locally and I drive past it all the time. It does have some nice features, such as public transport to and from the stadium, and its very simple and direct. Inside the stadium, you'll find a ton of food kiosks and bathrooms, so everythings easy to find and theres not usually long lines for anything, plus theres multiple charging stations for people to charge up their stuff which is useful for emergencies. what I like most about it is the employees. The people who work there are the most helpful, polite, and dilligent workers I've ever experienced in a stadium. They really make it a "home" stadium for me.
    That being said, everything in this video is completely accurate and I agree wholeheartedly. I wish they could have moved somewhere closer to SF, like Redwood City or something. and holy bajeezus, that bit about the sunlight and the heat, spot on. it gets pretty brutal in those seats, I find my group taking frequent breaks from the sun at day games.

    I live in the Bay Area and have been to Levi’s many times, so I can attest to just how awful this stadium is.
    For one thing, it is the most boring and soulless venue imaginable. It’s like they took the most generic, cookie-cutter template for a stadium they could find and were like “screw it, we’ll roll with this.”
    Next, the traffic and parking situation is an absolute nightmare. The roads around that stadium were NOT built to handle gameday traffic. And the stadium parking lots fill up hours before kickoff which forces you to park in sketchy dirt lots where they charge anywhere from $50-$80.
    But by far the worst part of Levi’s is that the views of the game SUCK. Everything is too far back from the field, so unless you pay $350 for lower bowl, you won’t be able to see anything that’s happening.

    An ugly, cheap-looking stadium built in a nondescript suburb. Only the Niners could leave San Francisco, with its stunning views, and build this dog 45 miles away. The (city SF, SC, SJ place your city name here) wanted to host a Super Bowl. NFL would not award it to San Francisco in Candlestick (even though it has hosted 9 NFC championship games and numerous playoff games that stadium had class and charm. You went to Candlestick to watch football that was it. You did not go to do other activates oh and catch a game when you were done. Levi stadium as stated in video is so far away it takes 7 hours to go to a game. Going to 2 hours (another comment stated) and from 2 hours plus the 3 hours at the game. Levi stadium was the York's master plan. Move the team out of the city is was based in to bring in more money. Levi is now closer to the shark tank (SAP Center) than the city the team is named after. Since the York's have run the team (1999-present) they have had 6 winning seasons (9 or more wins). Mariucci was head coach for two 2001-2002 before he was fired. He wanted more roster control York's FIRE HIM (yes he did pass up Tom Brady). Next LOSE the next 8 years with three different head coaches. The Harbaugh years three straight NFC championships and Super Bowl loss. He wanted more roster control because Trent Baalke was drafting players who had injury history. Some players never suited up for practice, they were drafted and put on IR the whole year. Well you know what the York's said FIRE HIM we run this team in the ground you will not did it out again. So the York's fired four head coaches in three years (2014-2016). So how did Jed York get control of the 49ers his parents gave it to him for something to play with. I liked the comment a reported asked Jed after he fired Chip Kelly and Baalke if he was going to step down (every 49er fan hoped for a few seconds) but Jed told the reporter you do not dismiss owners (49er fans all groaned). This is all because I miss Eddie DeBartolo. When Eddie owned the team they had three losing seasons. The first season 1979 they were doormats no draft capital but they had Bill Walsh. The second season 1980 Bill was still finding his roster. The third was the strike year 1982. So in four years the 49ers had three losing seasons under DeBartolo first, second, and fourth but what a third one Super Bowl Champions. They NEVER had another losing season under the watchful eye of Eddie D.

    The stadium’s biggest problem is the curfew rule. After 12PM they can’t have to keep the stadium below a sound and light limit. This means that they schedule a bunch of daytime games when the stadium could be better used at night. Another issue with night games is the long drive to San Francisco. People would not go to the game then drive 2 hours back home and get home at 2 AM. The issue with getting a stadium in San Francisco was actually city funding. The city/county of San Francisco didn’t want to fund a stadium as they thought it would take away from events at Oracle Park. The city wanted to have an indoor venue as they didn’t have any modern ones with the 17,000 seat Cow Palace being built in the 1940s. That is why the city of SF had their eyes on bringing the Warriors in from Oakland. If the Niners wanted to stay in SF they would have probably needed an indoor or retractable roof stadium and the city would fund a very small amount.
