Hey Kai, im glad i've come across your videos again. You were the first person I found when I was 16 looking for camera tips!! Glad to see you regularly uploading to this day!
Put one leg in the direction you’re shooting so you can get close to the camera. Brilliant tip. In all my years using a tripod I never thought of that. Well, Kai’s always good for a laugh.
Thats been my Situation for a year, not because my tripod is expensive, but because I shot everything on a German analogue camera from 1978 ^^ (Practica MTL-3 with a 50mm f/1.8 kit lens)
Interesting tips on tripod use, particularly with which section of the legs to extend first under what circumstance. You are clearly very experienced. Thanks for making this video!
With big video camera tripods we extend the bottom section first... That way you can raise or lower the tripod without having to bend down. Its also less awkward with heavier cameras if you are adjusting the legs closer to the camera. Also because we usually stand to the left side of the camera we normally one leg back and two forward so you can step into the side of the camera to operate.
That's more than my whole camera set-up with 3 lenses plus my PC, monitor, table and my tripod oh and I'll throw a GoPro 3+ on top. Guess that would be about 1 grant, damn it I saved 200 bucks. That'll be for food, gas and drinks😂
Always liked you since your debut with DigitalRev,. Man you always make so I put on a smile :) even in this weird time ! Thanks so much from Montréal Canada.
I've found two tripod setups ideal for me: 1. A ball head on the tripod when shooting wildlife and air shows (for swift panning). 2. A second tripod with a three-way gear head for landscapes and macros. This allows slow panning through each axis to insure ideal composition and checking depth of field. A ball head would immediately flop in all directions when loosened. BTW: I wish all lenses had tripod collars for quick rotation from horizontal to vertical aspect (or vice versa). I enjoy using tripods for "serious" photography, mainly because it slows me down and I concentrate on fore and background, composition, DoF, exposure, etc (oh yeah, it also reduces camera movement).
I purchased my tripod several years ago. It was designed for a video camera so is really sturdy but I swapped the head on it for a Benro ball head and now it works pretty damn well. I may not be the most convenient tripod to haul around but it does the job.
I think the suit jacket was on point, my personal suggest is to try from time to time (especially when reviewing expensive stuff) wearing one of those Armory suits like you used to do in 2014
Subtitles: 5:45 "you might end up moving in karabük soak up and key Baloo's" 7:21 "if you have fused a by one or you've lost it and refused again no one used a timer mode" 8:45 "crisis that we have with this whole covert 19" 9:27 "support donating to koruna virus" 9:45 "pig design" 9:48 "so yes all profit go into date of covert 19"
I'm wondering if there is such thing as a lock for tripod.. I have a manfoto good tripod filming myself street performing on my gh5, the tripod is chained to my music stand, altho I need a lock for the attachment that the camera is husted to tripod so no one can screw it off & run away with it Basically a only way to open if i have the key in my pocket... then i'd feel secure with my 1000£ camera away from me
Carrying the tripod with head attached is fine for Arca-Swiss heads but don't try it with a Manfrotto 200PL QL ball head. The lock lever is easily dislodged if it rubs your shoulder or anything else. That won't end well for your camera. Speaking from experience.
also not a bad idea to attach camera to tripod and use it as a stabilizer when doing handheld videos. that extra weight helps a lot. (experiment with the spread)
Thanks for this episode of 'Pimp My Kai' don't forget your smart phone can act as a remote with your wifi enabled Canon just grab the (free) app you get the FOV displayed on your phone along with the control menus
7:30 or use the app/link for your camera if it has one. Most are compete trash but I have used my canon DSLRs connected to a laptop so I don't have to touch the rig
Do you shoot your monologue first then shoot to fill or do you make your monologue after to match the craziness you have captured? Curious and entertained filmmaker here.
A complementary reason, if not the primary reason, to have 2 legs backwards, is to have the one leg forward straight under the lens, especially a longer or heavier lens that doesn't have a tripod collar.
Nice looking tripod design, but I'm guessing the center column cannot be flipped over into a horizontal position for top-down images like my Manfrotto? That's a feature I use quite often. Nice to see more companies putting out good quality tripods though. The more choices on the market the better, even if some of them are priced a bit high. Thanks for the review, Kai!
You missed one- With camera connected via wifi you can hold your tripod up high and take shots over peoples heads with your connected mobile phone as the shutter and viewer.
This entire video is just oh so mildly perverted. Right up my alley.
Justin yeah classic kai :D
Kai with a tie. This is a a global first. I am speechless. What the lockdown can do to a human.
#kaitie
The londonreal look I like it.
Man that "two legs forward on a slope" is a great tips that I don't know. Way to simulate all the situation in your own home too!
Does it supports L bracket?
@@64viji The Peak one? Yeah, just remove the two little safety stops on the head and it'll take mostly anything ARCA compatible.
@@ImpulseVigil Yep this is correct. Mentioned in their instruction manual
I legit went out into the lounge room and made that tripod tent for my daughter and she loved it haha
Hey Kai, im glad i've come across your videos again. You were the first person I found when I was 16 looking for camera tips!! Glad to see you regularly uploading to this day!
I was just watching Lok's tripod video, you got me.
me too
Same here lol
I havent got a tripod. Do I need a camera too ?
If you buy this one you won't be able to afford a camera. You should just plan to buy a flip phone mount for it. lol
You have a phone, right? Well, there’s your camera!
Would like to see more videos for those of us on a $5 to $0 camera budget.
No
Just use A4 sheets
Put one leg in the direction you’re shooting so you can get close to the camera. Brilliant tip. In all my years using a tripod I never thought of that.
Well, Kai’s always good for a laugh.
When a tripod costs more than your camera
oooooooof
Edit: just looked up the price and had a half hearth attack, this thing must be made out of gold
Thats been my Situation for a year, not because my tripod is expensive, but because I shot everything on a German analogue camera from 1978 ^^

I love how everything Kai touches turns to pervy 😂
I've been watching the camera channel and now this channel. Trust me, the speaking tone DOESNT CHANGE AT ALL FROM 8 YEARS AGO
Interesting tips on tripod use, particularly with which section of the legs to extend first under what circumstance. You are clearly very experienced. Thanks for making this video!

Oh hey! The tent idea is great one! I'm gonna try this later!
That would be about $1,200 in my country for the carbon fibre one 😲
LAZY DOG 😱
"It's for a good cause" or something...
Get an induro or benro and give 500$ to charity.
Same it's about 1.3k here . I can either but this or a used a6000 with kit lens or viltrox 85mm f1.8(1.6) fe

I just made 2 teepees from tripods. I’m a hero at my house. Thanks Kai!! Lol

"I don't have any hills in the apartment, so I have to make do" - love it.....great tips!
Oh no, the intro raised the hopes of a video of alternative tripod uses! The tent was SUCH A COOL idea! I want more xD
Im shivering at the sight of those boulders in your sensor Kai!

But, can you guess which Apple Watch I have though?
@@TheLokCheung Yes.
@@TheLokCheung I love you.
I did not watch this video for tips, but for pure comedy content
Even though I knew all these tips, it was a great video. Loved the energy- good work :)

Ha the tent idea is amazing! My sons going to love it
I’ve got a sick sense of humor, I cackled at every innuendo.
Reading the sponser-blurb like that really comes over as "*sigh*, ok here it goes because I have to.." :)
Enjoyed the tips and the humor.

Hey Kai Great Video!!
Curious What glasses are they? Super nice!!!!!

Dancing with the tripod is one tip added. I enjoyed watching Kai! More vlog!
I could not stop myself from bursting out in laughter when that tripod started to throw that ass back on you X_X
Kai, I like this video but I love that velvet jacket with the handkerchief. Keep up the stylin cloths and videos.
That price though... Oiy.

So much "in your end o" ;) Love it. Brilliant Video :)
I have one of those Ultrapod II mini pods, you can strap your camera to a tree or anything protuding and solid, really handy thing
You have a dust bunny on your sensor... Or is it a booger on my iPad screen?

Do you need to turn off the IS also in the camera or just Lynn's? Thank you have a good night

I feel like he got his creative humor back!
We need to see a watch collection video. We all know you are packing absolute heat
Austen Charron He is Chinese, so it could be a really nice replica 😜
The only person I will ever watch a tripod video from
When there's a similar brand name so that you can only say "Triple legged thing" and "3 legged friend"
Pretty damn entertaining. And that is a nice green jacket!
love that video your videos are always great fun

1:42 "Oh fuck yeah spread it"
Peak design flex haha 💪
Still waiting for the "Throwing Crap Out with Canni Kon" episode. 😌
Oss off for stills or only for video? And first curtain on affects the moving subject? How actually
what an entertaining & kinky one... hahaha... thumbs up for the creativity!
The tent is cool
Is there an organisation to help people after they have seen Kai in a Green Velvet Jacket... or a class action for mental distress???
Your videos are awesome, Kai.
I am suitably impressed by the number of three legged innuendos you squeezed into this video :) All good information though
How to properly clean the tripod?
2:40 lmao that’s the reason I like yr content .two thumbs up from Chengdu China.
Kai I keep waiting for the A7Siii to come out with every video. Please Please tell me you have seen it in the wild!
Thanx, very helpful tips👍
Cup it and keep it loose... Words to live by!
These tips are great, as great as this Kai's green velvet jacket outfit 👏🏻
Thanks 😊😊😄

Andrea Acailawen The column can be inverted. You have to take the bottom hook off, pull the centre column off completely and then invert it.
I wanted an innuendo. You gave me one.
What watch is that you are wearing?
Great video.. love the tips and humor.. 3 thumbs up.. lol

Snap or twist lock preferred?
Great tips!
Oh how i want that PD
