paradox963 As a loyal viewer, I can state that they answered this question last year. The videos are free to watch online - please come-in and spin :).
As of my personal two cents to add, it's not so much trouble to re-visit the video page, so GCN could collect some AD funds and be able to...... (blablabla about making great video... cycling community..... peace... prosperity and some social responsibility BS...)

    • @paradox963

Also a loyal viewer, but it's kinda hard and dangerous to take these videos out on the open road. I am all for them making money as I love the channel and I know it's not cheap to produce. I have gone in and made garmin workouts for some of there other training videos that take place out on the road. I just wondered if they have ever posted them as I am sure they have made them for the use of the videos.

Read at the start of the third above FTP interval an advertisement popped up on both sets. Not cool! No advertisements during training videos.

These videos are fantastic and so well presented. I have an entry level turbo trainer and no power meter, so the information given out regarding effort level and feel is invaluable. So thanks for considering all abilities and income levels. Keep up the good work.

Great video - thanks a lot!
As many of the other comments indicate, I too had a problem with the ads coming up during the hard intervals.
I watch most of your other videos as well and would be willing to sit through two minutes of ads on those to have no ads on the training videos.
I would appreciate it if you could do something about getting the ads out of the training videos.
Thanks and keep up the great work!

I'm an old guy, 68 years youngish. Have ever you considered doing some workout videos for cyclists who are not 20 to 40 years of age. I love the workouts but find that even though I'm in pretty decent shape, I can't drive through they way you guys do. I'm not talking water aerobics or chair exercises, but taking into consideration 80 rpms instead of 90 to 100 for 3 minutes. Just a thought.

We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

  • @TheRedster

Please can you have a % of ftp for these as well as effort level. Because effort level is very subjective.

    • @MattDion
      @MattDion 7 років тому +7

The Redster he expresses the entirety of the workout in terms of % ftp: block 1 is 4x ( 30s @ 110% FTP & 120s @ 90-95% FTP ). 5 minutes easy, then block 2 is 5x ( same as block 1 ). You shouldn't be overly concerned about the warmup, you should just do what you need to do to warmup. If you don't know what that is, put it somewhere mid zone 2 @ 90rpm and allow the cadence to dictate the spikes in effort.

I don’t have a power meter and am just going by feel. It’s a skill in itself to get the intensity right - I think I went too easy in the beginning and ramped it up a bit towards the end.

I DO like your workouts (Dan being the favorite) but, whilst I'm no superstar (FTP=300W@76kg), this Under/Over session is well below the necessary training stress required for adaptation! I KNOW my FTP from lab tests AND 20 minute tests AND RAMP tests etc, so, dialing in the numbers, I'm doing 30s@330W and 2mins@280W. Hard at the time, yes, but its only a TSS of 52. I can actually do twice that amount!! (even 60s@330W) I thought I'd found a get fit easy routine???

Really great workout. I really enjoyed it. Like some others on here I got hit with an ad that I was unable to skip right during a 30 second 110% FTP effort. I understand that you guys need ads and I don't mind them but is it possible to dictate where they are placed in the video? Perhaps during recovery? Or is it possible to have ads on all your videos except workout videos? Still a great workout and I worked harder than I would have since I kept up the power through the ad. Cheers all around.

Woweee Dan you certainly pack a punch! Might have snuck in a little break at the start of those first blocks it was really a jolt to the system and I need to pause and gather my courage. This form of trying to me is a great test of mental durability as well. Your tips of focusing every few seconds on your exertion and keep the upper body still helped me maximize the effort in the last few minutes of the 2nd set. Some serious fun, best way to spend a Friday afternoon. Thanks from the South West United States! Superb
