Actually that is not what is going on. It was an actual hunt by an adult and a juvenile, although not successful. The Killer Whales actually have a specific practice beach in another location where they teach the young how to strand. No Sea Lions or other prey just hour after hour of riding up onto the beach the wiggling off. We witnessed that many days. Hunting and stranding practice / teaching are two distinct activities done in different locations under different tide and wind conditions.
