Such an odd (and bad) decision to change from the really wonderful news jingle they've been using up to now. The rest of the new jingles are great, but just a touch of pomp and ceremony on the hour was always uplifting to hear.
BBC Radio 2 had new jingles in 1998, 2012 and 2023. Accordingly, no new jingles are expected before 2033. FM radio is likely to be phased out in the UK after 2030, so it's understandable that new jingles with this lifespan don't mention FM frequencies.
Thanks you uploading all of these in one place, kinda caught me off guard yesterday when I heard them. I really liked the old jingle package. Not too sure about these....
Not a fan of the news jingle. Would prefer it if they kept the presenter doing the “this is radio 2 on the sounds app on your smart speaker and on 88-91 FM”
Sounds like the 1st step of eliminating good old analogue FM radio is done :) Broadcasters did the same with AM. First, they stopped announcing theie longwave & mediumwave frequencies, and a few years later they stopped or are about to stop broadcasting in this band altogether. And don't speak about AM's poor audio quality. Many factors actually make it seem even worse than it can be. Streaming is prime, and soon will be the only option. It is broadcasters' intention and it is reflected in jingles like this. Just my 2 cents.
Exactly as I feared. I'd been worried about this since they started to say that shows that air during the day were available on sounds rather than at the date and time, and I thought it was only a matter of time from there.
Not long now before they use the phrase "The biggest throwbacks", I'm guessing. What has happened to radio in Britain, not just Radio 2 is awful. Radio 2 is just trying to sound a bit too much like Crapitol Radio with the occasional oldie thrown in. I'm so glad I invested in a Internet Radio, so much more to hear around the rest of the World than the drivel we get here! Radio Caroline is vastly superior! And they proudly announce that they're still available on the old fashioned AM. Ironically an ol' BBC frequency.
These jingles are awful, they just sound cheap and they don't have the authority of the 2013 to 2018 jingle package, they were much much better. More catchy and professional for a national station.
The news jingles sound like the kind of jingles you would hear on local radio.
Not really in my opinion

I was thinking just the same! Cheap keyboard-chiq jingles!
I like them and nice to hear the presenters doing the voiceovers
Yeah, it sounds more like radio 2
Times are changing, listen on your smart speaker and bbc sounds, no mention of 88-91 FM & DAB as a way of listening
And TV

Are the new ones produced by IQ Beats?
@@LoveAudioProduction I think it’s wisebuddah
@@DJDeryn It sounds like Reelworld, but it could be Wisebuddah.
Hey, it's a Wisebuddah update, composed & produced by Jem Godfrey.
@BBC Radio 2 Fails thanks for the clarification. I know Wise Buddah have had the contract for some time, I just felt this sounded slightly different.
On your smart trousers
I prefer "Now playing everywhere - Steve Wright in the Afternoon".
Bring back the old ones, please. It's not the same.
I have to say I love the 'Chill Relax 1' Ramp. The first times I heard it here I somehow teared up.

Reminds me of some of the Greatest Hits Radio jingles.
Much prefer the old ones
Yeah same
What's the vernon kay background music i hear that's a bit sort of jaunty and silly almost.. think it's a piano playing ?

Dreadful 88 to 91 fm
When ken left i left...
A little repetitive me thinks!
I thoroughly despise these.
Aww Diddums! What a pathetic reaction to a change of jingle. Boo hoo!
Sounds too much like Radio 1 😣
Well, it does have ex radio 1 listeners.🙄
Yep. Radio 2 is dead.

Who cares about this ridiculous joke woke station anymore?
That travel jingle is the worst. This package generally is Meh! 🫤
