I LOVE that you can build a house with just a roof. I totally went and tried this, and you don't need to put a wall in order to have the door. It goes on the roof wall just fine. Mine is an off-the-grid bunker with a grass roof. I love it. Came here to post a screenshot, but I don't think I can.
Kayla, if you kept the tree up, you could redecorate it for every holiday out of spite. Why should you let others dictate what you want to do? You're still an individual, and should just ignore people who want it their way when you weren't harming anyone
In yesterday’s video you showed Nancy landgraab living by herself and I think that should totally be a let’s play with the goths and pancakes and others too

Oh, content idea, possibly for live stream: partner up with a simmer who mostly does CAS or Let’s Play, and you build a house for their sims and they build sims for your build.
I once built an off-grid house without any walls at all for under 1,800. It's in the style of an Andersen shelter, so I just put two rounded roofs next to each other and put a door right in the side of the roof. The interior is a bit grim tbf but I love it anyway and I think I did some cool stuff with the exterior, using debug tyres as planters and stuff.

I've been binging this channel the past couple days and decided to maybe see what the price is for the game--I've never actually played any of the sims-- and y'all it's on sale on steam for like 90% off. Truly meant to be!
There are a lot of good packs on sale. If you’re looking for cheap and easy things to build with and use you can get eco lifestyle (dig in dumpsters to get free stuff) and tiny living let’s you make a tiny residential which really helps get your sim started with skills and relationships.
Simsie: We need shelter from the elements right? Penny (My Humble Rags To Riches Sim) : Oh that's cute . . . I have a tarp, a cot, a fridge and a snapdragon that i planted after stealing one from my neighbors garden. Don't worry. The snapdragon rewards your theft with 25 simoleons every other day though . . . unless you have seasons in which best use that phone to work in a career that I'm totally qualified for. (I'm just memeing lol)
If you want to build a house using roofs, you need to use curved roofs. Two curved roofs that meet in the middle, will create nice flat wall that you can shove a door on. Make the roofs two stories tall, and then curve that second story over so that they meet. It will kind of look like a barn. And because you can't see through roofs unless the walls are down, it's really nice to make the roofs glass. Edit: using this method you will get a single wall that goes all the way down the middle of the building, but I always use an arch to open it up. Given how much you save on walls, you can usually afford the arch or maybe the cheapest door.
I don't cut my own hair but I do color it myself. Being bored I just had to try a lighter color one time and now I have blonde and a strip of lighter blonde that is now around where my ears start. I guess it's not thaaat noticeable but I see it every day in the mirror. And it will take a long time to grow out all the way. But hey, we're all in this together. 😅
Without CC, all you really need for a single adult sim: bed (as couch and dining chair), one unused counter top (put dishwasher underneath), stove, fridge, toilet, University backless shower (can be placed in front of toilet), wall mounted TV/Stereo/Bookshelf opposite of bed, recycling trash can. THAT'S IT! Sinks are unnecessary!
Did you know that if you buy the decorations box for holidays? The Christmas etc... if you rummage for holiday decor it is free and then you can sell it for cash? Do this over and over and you have a lot of money quickly.
Ha! Love the Rick Astley. I couldn't find the star for our christmas tree this year, so I printed out a picture of Rick Astley and put it on the top of the tree just to see how long it would take anyone to notice :)
Kayla's there putting out the 'necessities' and puts out a stove... and my brain goes, Kayla's you don't need a stove because things like garden salad, fruit salad, poke bowl and all those meals don't need a stove... heck you can live of quick meals so you don't even need a counter, sure your sims will get annoyed by all the quick meals but they can live on them. Also this is what I imagine the inside of a tent in the sims looks like since the shape is rather tent like.
Can you possibly make a video with a compendium of tricks when it comes to building in sims 3? Like custom chimneys and archways and things like that. It would be neat thanks.
if you want it to look a little less dumb and save a few simoleons, if you just use the singular a frame roof you can just put the door on the actual roof. in game its kinda hard bc the roof doesnt cut away but if youre THAT tight on money its worth a shot
instead of the full fridge and counter, you could've used a minifridge from discover university which counts as a countertop and fridge? although idk if it's cheaper than getting the cheapest fridge and counter actually
In my rags to riches I take the A shaped roof then make it large and put a door on the concrete part of it. Your sim can walk into it and it costs the price of a door. You can also make it glass but there's zero privacy. Then you don't have to pay for any walls

i love how rick has taken place for the christmas tree lmao
i started watching you yesterday and i already LOVE YOUUUUU
Hope everyone’s day has been good so far
So ready for this!
My parents Said iff i gott 20,2k subss ,I wouldd get a new gaming PC
You could make an a-frame with a gabled roof at the back instead of a half-gabled roof
I’m impressed. I don’t use debug objects ever since I rarely do challenges, but now I’m intrigued.
I love her merch so much it’s so cute and I really wanna buy some rn
I LOVE that you can build a house with just a roof. I totally went and tried this, and you don't need to put a wall in order to have the door. It goes on the roof wall just fine. Mine is an off-the-grid bunker with a grass roof. I love it. Came here to post a screenshot, but I don't think I can.
I mean...I didn't build it on the cheap though... lol
Kayla, if you kept the tree up, you could redecorate it for every holiday out of spite. Why should you let others dictate what you want to do? You're still an individual, and should just ignore people who want it their way when you weren't harming anyone
Isn't doing something just to spite the people who tell you not to just letting other people dictate your actions in a more round about way?
it looks like a fancy tent and im loving it
In yesterday’s video you showed Nancy landgraab living by herself and I think that should totally be a let’s play with the goths and pancakes and others too
And you can make them over 😂
looks like a tent/ house? lol pretty cool actually.....also, I think your hair styles like Molly Ringwalds in pretty in Pink/ Breakfast club era would totally suit you ! You are beautiful Kayla ♥️♥️
The interior is a bit grim tbf but I love it anyway and I think I did some cool stuff with the exterior, using debug tyres as planters and stuff.
hey kayla today i saw a tiktok that said in order to shave space in the sims yo can actually use the corner kitchen counter and its works as a normal one
kayla!!! i was just checking out your merch and its so cute! next time you drop, can you make the sim game club into a crew neck??? i want one (L)_(L) love u
learning that spiders spawn on the cobwebs just changed the trajectory of my life
rip christmas tree you will be missed 💖💖
here’s a cc/patch concept: making the mail slots on doors functional as mailboxes.
The vids always make my day❤️
Soo cool beside the spider in the fridge. :o
Hey! A free meditation stool and chalk summoning circle means this is not only a survival build, but that your sim can build 2 skills!
Shape gives me tent vibes 😅 but good job Kayla, those debug lights saved the day
ur skills are so good! amazing job with this build kayla
This is actually cute 🥰
Have u ever tried doing the Collins house from the twilight saga
Simsie: We need shelter from the elements right?
Penny (My Humble Rags To Riches Sim) : Oh that's cute . . . I have a tarp, a cot, a fridge and a snapdragon that i planted after stealing one from my neighbors garden. Don't worry. The snapdragon rewards your theft with 25 simoleons every other day though . . . unless you have seasons in which best use that phone to work in a career that I'm totally qualified for.
(I'm just memeing lol)
Too Give another room you can use the space in the roof by curving it outwards to create a dome like area. I would do that on a scenario.
Just me or does it look like a tent before she changed it
Ngl Kayla, I do kinda feel personally offended that the Christmas tree is already down..
1 minute ago thank you Kayla for another video, it’s gonna be great!
What about a microwave on a small table? Would that be cheaper?
She could do a mini fridge with a microwave on top to save a grid space and some money. Plus I don’t think they catch on fire.
Your hair looks great! Good job Dan!
stonks
It looks like the giant resistance tent from the batuu pack 😅
But honestly great starter home
Without CC, all you really need for a single adult sim: bed (as couch and dining chair), one unused counter top (put dishwasher underneath), stove, fridge, toilet, University backless shower (can be placed in front of toilet), wall mounted TV/Stereo/Bookshelf opposite of bed, recycling trash can. THAT'S IT! Sinks are unnecessary!
Kayla always has the best videos
Love this! Thank you.
Kayla! In DEBUG there are lights that are free. The area lighting that you see in build mode but not in live mode.
“Stains behind the bed” 😍🥰😘🤪 I’m jealous!!!1
To everyone seeing this have an amazing day 💕
Did you know that if you buy the decorations box for holidays? The Christmas etc... if you rummage for holiday decor it is free and then you can sell it for cash? Do this over and over and you have a lot of money quickly.
hiii!!
I unironically love this house
Everytime Kayla makes one of these, I scream THE FREE ARTWORK FROM UNIVERSITY but she never hears :(
the fact that you upload these every day is a blessing
todd howard: its just work
lilsimsie: its function
Yes just build a box
ty for the info on the spiderwebs. I did not know they spawn spiders on the walls and now I know to always avoid the webs.
Love the vid❤️
Nevermind I found the playlist lol
I'm surprised you think the cooker is required. You can just have your sims eat salads and such without it.
I bet Nancy loves her new home
if you want it to look a little less dumb and save a few simoleons, if you just use the singular a frame roof you can just put the door on the actual roof. in game its kinda hard bc the roof doesnt cut away but if youre THAT tight on money its worth a shot
This house looks so safe :D Tv hanging on a wobbly pile of tires next to the oven and bed sheets :D
instead of the full fridge and counter, you could've used a minifridge from discover university which counts as a countertop and fridge? although idk if it's cheaper than getting the cheapest fridge and counter actually
Yes simsie. Yes it is. You will show us how:)
In my rags to riches I take the A shaped roof then make it large and put a door on the concrete part of it. Your sim can walk into it and it costs the price of a door. You can also make it glass but there's zero privacy. Then you don't have to pay for any walls
Why do I love it
I honestly kinda love this house for some reason
