My velvet ribbon (gorgeous true red color) broke at the base after less than 10 uses (exactly like the velvet midnight in your video). I emailed support@lisaeldridge.com and they quickly sent me a replacement (good customer service) with this explanation: "the lipsticks are packed with pigment and it can cause them to be more fragile, sometimes the transit can also weaken them as much as we try our absolute best to ensure they are carefully packaged this can occur rarely". Now I am extra gentle with the velvet collection. Matilda, congrats on your very nice video :-)

michelle phan has an old video where she fixes a broken lipstick. you take a lighter and carefully apply heat to the broken part and the bottom. you then connect the two and hold them in place while they set. if you place it in the fridge, this will also help it set back together. ua-cam.com/video/AwmIRVJNiqY/v-deo.html

I ordered velvet muse and velvet fawn and the colors are even more beautiful in person. The only problem I see with Lisa's lipsticks is this- the packaging is so stunning I don't want to use them!! They're like a mini piece of art. ❤

Haha definitely Michelle! My low buy has remained in tact for the last two months apart from Lisa's lipsticks, and some Ultra Violette lip balms the day they were donating to bushfire relief in Australia. Very special limited edition launches and good causes are worthy exceptions ☺️👍 x

My heart leapt out of my chest at the Velvet Midnight section! Put the bullet in cling film and into the fridge for five minutes, then melt the bottom of the bullet to the point of dripping with a match or lighter (or hold it over a tealight) and press it back into the base with the applicator held to the highest level it can go and hold for as long as possible!! I went in wanting Velver Fawn and came out on the other side having ordered the New Velvet Trio and Velcet Jazz because the color just calls to me. Love all four and was beyond surprised just HOW much I love Velvet Decade on my fair skin. I've never seen anything like that shade ever

I got the ultimate velvet mix collection from her and I am absolutely in love with the shades! Velvet ribbon is definitely my holy grail red, it's by far the best I have found for my fair skin. Velvet decade is such a unique shade and is very striking when worn at full strength, and velvet muse is my new go to every day color! Thanks Matilda for introducing me to Lisa Eldridge's lipsticks!
I've been looking forward to this review almost as much as receiving my lipsticks! Like you, I _loved_ Fawn and Decade, but I had trouble with Midnight as well. I'm a bit stumped by Midnight, actually. I'm fair with neutral undertones, so anything goes really, but I tried all sorts of techniques (stain, patted on, full opacity, lip pencil, lip balm either blotted or left on) and it kept applying really cool-toned and patchy on me. Have you experienced anything similar? (I'd welcome tips from other readers as well, I really don't want Midnight to go to waste.)

Midnight hasn't been patchy for me (although fairly tricky to apply with a wonky bullet now) but maybe try prepping your lips with a balm or mixing some into the formula to help smooth it out 👍 In terms of being cool-toned, that will always be about your skin tone and the shade's undertones. It's been interesting to see just how different the same shade can look on different people on Lisa's story lately! x

I really fell in love with the darkest shade..... although dark colours always look very gloomy on me...... if it’s available next year. I’ll differently use it in a Ombree look or Korean gradient lip look.
I purchased the new velvets this time around. Fawn, muse, and decade. All out of my comfort zone as I usually go for reds or pinky nudes. They’re all gorgeous. I also have velvet ribbon, morning, and love of my life, and I just ordered velvet jazz, waiting for that to arrive.
I have all her reds and a back up of Jazz; my favourite. The summer pinks and the Soft Velvets along with Myth. The latest are wonderful. She's is so clever with colours and they are exceptional lipsticks. They are the longest lasting lipsticks I own and very comfortable. They are versatile too. Love them and her.

Soooo excited! Mine arrived on Thursday. I bought Velvets Fawn and Muse, and finally got my hands on Velvet Jazz. They are just the most comfortable matt lipsticks I have ever worn. I just knew Muse would be a favourite from Lisa’s video and it is. Fawn will be best worn with a bit of gloss over the top for me. Jazz is just the most, as Sally Bowles from Cabaret said, “divine decadence darling! It is so rich and pigmented, I’m in heaven. I held my breath when Midnight broke 😢 I’d love to see an Ellis Faas video, have Creamy Lips L101, so pigmented and stains, just like Velvet Jazz, which I don’t mind one bit.

It happened to one of my minis in the Matte-trance Pat Mcgrath lipsticks. As disappointing as it was I loved the lipsticks so much that it’s not even an issue anymore.
I really hope Lisa releases more terracotta and orange shades sometime for next summer. It's a bit late for orange now (terracotta would still be a good fall shade) but I loooooove corals and oranges for summertime
Nice video! 🥰 i’ve already bought the blue velvet set and velvet jazz... so stunning! I like their formula and richness... comfortable for hours but some retouches are needed especially if drinking or eating. 👋🏻💋
I gasped too when Midnight broke! My original want was muse and fawn. But i was able to get velvet blue set. I personally don’t think a bright color like beauty or dark like midnight fit me at all. Never found one that does. But! These were the first to fit me so well. I was so pleased! And they look so beautiful on the vanity.

Loved watching your review and now I have a great idea of the colours! I’m so surprised you stayed calm because I let out a scream when velvet midnight broke! The lipsticks are expensive and also not restocking any time soon so you really took that like a champ. I would have not been able to keep calm and carry on.

I bought all the new shades and the reds as I already own the pinks. Merry Christmas to me. I’ve worn Muse to an Xmas function and it was so comfortable and very pigmented. I would love to see more of the luscious formulas likes love of my life in the future maybe is some subtle orange or purple shades?
My velvet jazz broke similarly like this but it was 1 month ago, and i bought it when it first launched. So now i just stick it back on and use it very carefully.

I purchased Muse, Myth, Fawn and Jazz this go round and love each and everyone one. I was nervous Jazz and Myth maybe too close to eachother but Jazz is more of a deep brick red vs. Myth's berry vibe. Both perfect for holiday. I think a Lisa E. Lovely vid! Beautifully swatched. I restrained myself and only bought one (Velvet Muse) but am still sorely tempted to get Velvet Fawn... I‘ve had two of her lipsticks break off in the exact same manner as yours has and since I couldn’t get it to melt back together without ruining the plastic casing in the end I scraped out the little bit that’s left in the tube (put that in a little pot, great to take travelling) and then pushed the broken off stick into that. So far it’s held up pretty well & hasn’t broken off again ☺️
These look so beautiful - I picked up Velvet Fawn and it is so beautiful! I would wear one of the darker shades more like a stain...like you’ve been eating berries! I would love one of the reds!! Love that orange red color for sure❣️ I hope she releases more of a satin formula next time. As I’ve gotten older, I’m not as drawn to mattes on my 👄 lips.
I ordered rainbow spill from the pinks collection and the bullet broke too! I was able to stick it back on and just made sure to be super careful not to twist it up all the way. I live in Southern California, so perhaps the summer heat mixed with the super creamy formula caused the lipstick to soften and break. Still beautiful though!
Bought new velvet trio, fawn and muse look really similar on me, muse looking like a deeper fawn but i love the colour so its good for me! Decade looks gorgeous applied as sheer, never thought a dark brown would look so nice dabbed on!

Still getting used to the formula! I bought jazz and ribbon and the only new shade I fancied was decade which I’m still toying with purchasing. Not sure how well I suit dark shades but the blackberry tone looks beautiful. They do seem a little bit drying but super light weight. I found macs burgundy pencil is a good match for velvet jazz x

I gasped when midnight broke, it happened to me once and I was heartbroken. I'd try to carefully warn the bottom with an open flame. Not so the flame touches the lipstick directly but just use the heat. Good luck!

I really hope Lisa Eldridge brings back the Go Lightly lipstick. I was not able to get it when it launched before and I am incredibly sad it was not included with the pinks restock this time around. Fingers-crossed it will be included in a Spring/Summer release in 2020!
I nearly gasped out loud when the bullet fell out of the case! I've never seen that happen before. This collection is my favourite of hers so far. Wonder where she'll go next? I found this collect so exacting with the nudes and berries, absolutely divine! I never used to be a berry lip person but (I cant remember exactly which ones) your videos and style has inspired me to try it out! Since I have missed last year’s launch, I have jumped on the bandwagon with Velvet Fawn & Velvet Ribbon and it’s just arrived at my doorstep a day ago. ☺️
Use a match or a lighter to melt the bit at the base of the bullet in the tube itself, then press the detached lipstick into the tube there to reattach it
My Velvet Beauty bullet also broke off on my first use, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't the pressure I was using to apply. It may have been one of the odd defects that are just missed in the thousands of orders. Although, I have to say that the customer service Lisa's company offers is AMAZING, and they sent me another immediately the day after. I think the texture of the first was a bit dryer than the others. I will be fixing the first one as well, melting and adhering it back to the base. It'll stay as my backup Beauty!
The velvet midnight shade is my favorite by far and I really hope you can fix it because I think it would suit you very well. I wanted to ask if maybe you could compare some more products from the same category like you did with cream blush. I would love to see you compare highlighters and vampy lipsticks! Love your work!

Last night I emailed customer service because exactly the same thing happened to my midnight on the second use. Muse, decade and jazz are all fine though. Wondering if midnight is just that bit more fragile possibly.

My heart leapt out of my chest at the Velvet Midnight section! Put the bullet in cling film and into the fridge for five minutes, then melt the bottom of the bullet to the point of dripping with a match or lighter (or hold it over a tealight) and press it back into the base with the applicator held to the highest level it can go and hold for as long as possible!! I went in wanting Velver Fawn and came out on the other side having ordered the New Velvet Trio and Velcet Jazz because the color just calls to me. Love all four and was beyond surprised just HOW much I love Velvet Decade on my fair skin. I've never seen anything like that shade ever

I got the ultimate velvet mix collection from her and I am absolutely in love with the shades! Velvet ribbon is definitely my holy grail red, it's by far the best I have found for my fair skin. I've been looking forward to this review almost as much as receiving my lipsticks! Like you, I _loved_ Fawn and Decade, but I had trouble with Midnight as well. I'm a bit stumped by Midnight, actually. I'm fair with neutral undertones, so anything goes really, but I tried all sorts of techniques (stain, patted on, full opacity, lip pencil, lip balm either blotted or left on) and it kept applying really cool-toned and patchy on me. Have you experienced anything similar? (I'd welcome tips from other readers as well, I really don't want Midnight to go to waste.)

Midnight hasn't been patchy for me (although fairly tricky to apply with a wonky bullet now) but maybe try prepping your lips with a balm or mixing some into the formula to help smooth it out 👍 In terms of being cool-toned, that will always be about your skin tone and the shade's undertones. It's been interesting to see just how different the same shade can look on different people on Lisa's story lately! x

I really fell in love with the darkest shade..... although dark colours always look very gloomy on me...... if it’s available next year. I’ll differently use it in a Ombree look or Korean gradient lip look.

I purchased the new velvets this time around. Fawn, muse, and decade. All out of my comfort zone as I usually go for reds or pinky nudes. They’re all gorgeous. I also have velvet ribbon, morning, and love of my life, and I just ordered velvet jazz, waiting for that to arrive.

I have all her reds and a back up of Jazz; my favourite. The summer pinks and the Soft Velvets along with Myth. The latest are wonderful. She's is so clever with colours and they are exceptional lipsticks. They are the longest lasting lipsticks I own and very comfortable. They are versatile too. Love them and her.

Soooo excited! Mine arrived on Thursday. I bought Velvets Fawn and Muse, and finally got my hands on Velvet Jazz. They are just the most comfortable matt lipsticks I have ever worn. I just knew Muse would be a favourite from Lisa’s video and it is. Fawn will be best worn with a bit of gloss over the top for me. Jazz is just the most, as Sally Bowles from Cabaret said, “divine decadence darling! It is so rich and pigmented, I’m in heaven. I held my breath when Midnight broke 😢 I’d love to see an Ellis Faas video, have Creamy Lips L101, so pigmented and stains, just like Velvet Jazz, which I don’t mind one bit.

It happened to one of my minis in the Matte-trance Pat Mcgrath lipsticks. As disappointing as it was I loved the lipsticks so much that it’s not even an issue anymore.
I really hope Lisa releases more terracotta and orange shades sometime for next summer. It's a bit late for orange now (terracotta would still be a good fall shade) but I loooooove corals and oranges for summertime
I'm not sure if she has any new lipstick shades on the way, but I know she's launching lip glosses in October! 😍👏 x

I personally don’t think a bright color like beauty or dark like midnight fit me at all. Never found one that does.
But! These were the first to fit me so well. I was so pleased!

Loved watching your review and now I have a great idea of the colours! I’m so surprised you stayed calm because I let out a scream when velvet midnight broke! The lipsticks are expensive and also not restocking any time soon so you really took that like a champ. I would have not been able to keep calm and carry on.

I bought all the new shades and the reds as I already own the pinks. Merry Christmas to me. I’ve worn Muse to an Xmas function and it was so comfortable and very pigmented. I purchased Muse, Myth, Fawn and Jazz this go round and love each and everyone one. I was nervous Jazz and Myth maybe too close to eachother but Jazz is more of a deep brick red vs. Myth's berry vibe. Both perfect for holiday. I think a Lisa E. Gloss collection maybe in order, or lippies with a shine....truth be told, anything she develops I plan on purchasing!

I‘ve had two of her lipsticks break off in the exact same manner as yours has and since I couldn’t get it to melt back together without ruining the plastic casing in the end I scraped out the little bit that’s left in the tube (put that in a little pot, great to take travelling) and then pushed the broken off stick into that. So far it’s held up pretty well & hasn’t broken off again ☺️

I ordered rainbow spill from the pinks collection and the bullet broke too! I was able to stick it back on and just made sure to be super careful not to twist it up all the way. I live in Southern California, so perhaps the summer heat mixed with the super creamy formula caused the lipstick to soften and break. Still beautiful though!

Bought new velvet trio, fawn and muse look really similar on me, muse looking like a deeper fawn but i love the colour so its good for me! Decade looks gorgeous applied as sheer, never thought a dark brown would look so nice dabbed on!

Still getting used to the formula! I bought jazz and ribbon and the only new shade I fancied was decade which I’m still toying with purchasing. Not sure how well I suit dark shades but the blackberry tone looks beautiful.
They do seem a little bit drying but super light weight. I found macs burgundy pencil is a good match for velvet jazz x

I gasped when midnight broke, it happened to me once and I was heartbroken. I'd try to carefully warn the bottom with an open flame. Not so the flame touches the lipstick directly but just use the heat. Good luck!

Anywho, i love all the shades but the berry shades got me right there💖💖💖 i actually expected Velvet Midnight(Crisis) to come out a pure black but was pleasantly surprised to see that it looks like such a dark-jam tone. Use a match or a lighter to melt the bit at the base of the bullet in the tube itself, then press the detached lipstick into the tube there to reattach it

My Velvet Beauty bullet also broke off on my first use, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't the pressure I was using to apply. It may have been one of the odd defects that are just missed in the thousands of orders. Although, I have to say that the customer service Lisa's company offers is AMAZING, and they sent me another immediately the day after. I think the texture of the first was a bit dryer than the others. I will be fixing the first one as well, melting and adhering it back to the base. It'll stay as my backup Beauty!

The velvet midnight shade is my favorite by far and I really hope you can fix it because I think it would suit you very well. Last night I emailed customer service because exactly the same thing happened to my midnight on the second use. Muse, decade and jazz are all fine though. Wondering if midnight is just that bit more fragile possibly.
Oh wow, how interesting! I emailed customer service earlier today too. Hope they might be able to help us! Someone else said the same thing happened to their Velvet Ribbon bullet and Lisa's team quickly arranged a replacement 👍 x
