I have been here since 2009. I dont miss the USA at all! My family is EVERYTHING to me. This time has presented no extra stress except for the lack of ability to shop for food as we used to. I love the starter garden your mom has done! I am now learning how easy it is to grow most ANY food we want from the natural seeds within the foods we eat. I am 70yo. Wish I were younger! God bless.

Great to see you all. For the life of me, my new goal is to save enough to go there with my family... I am so in love with that island.... I accumulate books, to be honest; they are just about the only thing that it would break my heart to leave behind, even with all the online options of the modern world... I love the Philippines but I'm missing seeing Portugal too! Glad you have found what may be home though. 😊 Also look at the subscribers! So pleased you are getting the support you deserve! Xx
I'm an introvert and I don't go out much, just once a week to buy necessities and people used to urge me to go out more. Now it's acceptable to stay more at home 😂 I enjoy gardening and going to garden centers, I love it! The only thing that makes me sad is I can't go to garden centers.
Pwah pwah is so happy with her garden, the plants grew so fast, also I missed those sea grapes she had. And I admire Story she adjusted to life well beyond her years not to mention a great traveller than some of the adults. 😍😍😍
I felt pleasure when you stated that you feel grateful that your family realizes your temporary home in the Philippines is a BLESSING in the midst of the global health epidemic. You guys are + memories 2 your life journey that is documented so that your memory bank will be tangible 2 review 4 yrs 2 come!! As always it is a PLEASURE 2 have the opportunity 2 watch your GORGEOUS, HIGHLY INTELLIGENT, MOST EXPRESSIVE daughter show us her world daily activities. Storey's speaking voice is adorable and @ times a hoot!!!! I love 2 watch your mother who is beautiful and clearly Storey looks just like her. Learning from your mother gardening techniques & watching her be honored by her lovely son & daughter in law is a pleasure. I'd love 2 see more of your mother & Storey interact w/each other more if possible. Plus that footage would be awesome 4 Storey 2 have documented 2 pass on 2 her family etc. I was thinking last night of your handsome father who took joy traveling w/your family as a treasure that you have documented those experiences. If I may suggest or ask I hope in the future when the time is right of course that you take Storey 2 see her grandfather's country of Kenya. The motherland roots & history & race of Africa is part of her bloodline along w/the Asian & English. She is aware of 2 of her family line culture take her 2 the motherland and you buys discover all the glories of that continent. Nairobi and Mombasa are 2 cities 2 visit & explore that I believe that your father walked those streets. I'm curious 2 know if you have visited Africa as yet? Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy glad as always 2 spend time watching your daily journey. I would love 2 send Storey some toy gifts if there is a possibility 2 do so pleasure make mention if there is a way 2 send any parcel presently or in the near future. Stay safe
Story has the whole shore as a play ground. The best memory of my childhood is when we lived right next to the shore. First thing in the morning I would run to the shore welcoming the fishermen from their overnight fishing, play tag with friends, swim, explore the shore and observe the fish and other creatures hiding at the stones. I didn’t ask for any toy because I was so busy exploring the sea shore. Then we would watch the sun set.
We're a Philippine local, I live watching your vlog, you were lucky to get stocked there in Siargao because there's no case of Covid19. Also it's nice you stay in front of the beach front where you hear the sea breeze, feel the fresh sea wind, see tge sunrise & sunset. It's all nature, the coconut trees, the vegetables plants of your mom, Story picking up sort kind of shells, playing in the sand & the rain 😊 a picturisque view. You are lovely & lively family. I L❤️ve Story she's cute, she learns things around well, she's lucky to have her grandma with her ❤️ & mom to both of you 😊 See you in next vlog 👍
Thank you for letting us in into your life and home everyday. Im a busy person however, just like anybody else I have to stop working because of the enhanced community quarantine going on in the country. My day is now incomplete without watching your new video that bring always bring smile on my face. Furthermore, you have an adorable, charming and smart daughter that adds life to your content. If given the chance , I would prefer to be stuck in a place where you at right now. A paradise that you can enjoy everyday as compared to being stuck in our own houses here in Manila. Keep creating great contents. You're making us happy because we have something to watch while at home. May your family always be safe under God's care.
Everything is planned for you all! It’s not by accident! Praying all the best blessings for you all! I watched your vlogs every day like my day is not complete without seeing your vlogs! Like your humble way of talking, coping with the situation, mature and amiable attitude to others regardless of color or status!
Your updates are the first thing I check every morning. We're living in Portugal (the Algarve) and I promise it feels a lot safer here than the UK. You must do whatever is right for your family, but I kind of hope you eventually come back here as I did enjoy your Portugal vlogs too.
When it’s low tide, you can go search for seaweeds since you’re vegetarian. Fresh and rich of different minerals. Ask the locals of which one is edible.
Absolutely! Or you can ask local to help you find seaweeds like seagrape(local name: latu) and theres other one(local name: gusu). Those are just two common seaweeds to find her.
Story is getting older, bigger, and much more aware of the wonders near her, and much more occupied. Here in Portugal we seem to be plateauing with 435 dead, nowhere near other numbers near us. Glad to say the government has worked really hard to contain it and we are already being hailed for jumping ahead of most other countries in prevention, thank God, but this will take time. We miss you here in Portugal now that the weather is so nice, but Siargao is lovely, and a safe place now for you as well. Thanks for showing us so much of this world, no matter how unstable it may be now. Happy Easter to all.
Story always makes me smile! What an adorable darling! You all look contented in your little corner of the world and it makes me happy to see that! Your videos give me a sense of peace when the rest of the world is scary and chaotic. ❤️
You really are safe and lucky in that spot. I watched other vloggers and they just stay in the hotel or in the villa. In your case you have a lot of freedom to do a lot of things, you can go out to buy things and the view is awesome. 😊
Your mum is amazing! I could spend hours learning from her. You should seriously consider moving there its a great country! You are great parents and your daughter is so cute! Be safe and keep pushing out the updates
When its cold in purtugal you can always go back to siargao so you will have 2 vacation Houses, but always bring your talented mom, thanks for Arial view from your drone
Silent viewer here ! Been watching you since your first visit in the Phils.back then ,in Tagaytay and Baguio to name a few, there's also that vlog comparing Phils. to Thailand.but now so much had change with Story and GrandMa in Siargao ,without these two beautiful people in tow I guess the vlogs would not be fun.But now you keep us riveted ,it's like waitng for the next vlog everyday,I learned to like the two of you and the family It's like watching a beautiful movie for free .Thanks to you again Eight Miles from Home...
there are circumstances in life where we are given opportunities to bond more as a family and reflect in the simplicity of life compare to a chaotic environment, the hustle and bustle of city life. you got a lovely place to unwind compare to where am i today. i would probably want to hit the beach once this is over. thanks for your vlogs. you are our windows to the outside world. stay safe
Good for you guys. Almost all foreigners who fell in love with our country underwent exactly the same things u r undergoing right now. All the family, contemplation, nature, coming around and everything. Well i wish you and your family good luck and stay safe guys.
Hi there I just want to let you know how much I appreciate the positive vibe of your videos. I am a Filipina living in Europe for a long time and stumbling on your blog is a great blessing. Watching the news of current conditions here in Europe and UK, being in the Philippines at this time is a better option. Life in there is more relax and being in the province or in an island seems to suit all of you. I grew up in a province, too. More power to you all and yes Philippines is a haven for retirees. We Filipinos go all over the world to work but we keep the thought of retiring back to our native land.
Hi there! I’m from the Philippines but currently working in Saudi Arabia. I ran through your vlogs and it was wonderful watching your daily inspiring activities. It’s really nice that you enjoy life especially in these trying times. Lovely family.. keep safe and keep doing what you love- sharing stories and inspiring everyone..
You guys are part of my "lockdown" history. I love your daily vlogs. I'm glad you're thriving and in good spirits... Kids don't need much, their imagination keeps them entertained and Story has the world at her feet! Sticks, sand, soil, shells.. she can make so many things! Plus there's always the iPad when she's done with those! :) Stay safe and healthy!
This is King from Angola, Indiana. I have been married for 3 years to Evelyn in Paranaque, Phillipines. We built a house there 4 years ago. My wife is from Siargao and most of her family is still there. I was to fly back to the Philippines in February but my Cathay Pacific flight was cancelled and then switched to a Japanese carrier which had just closed all public schools so I decided to stay put. I don't know if that was a good thing or bad thing. We have been following you guys and my entire Filipino family look forward to your daily videos. They love how you are fitting in so well. We all think your mother made a wise decision to stay put where it is so much safer than what is going on in the UK. You have more then likely have run into my wife's relatives, they are Salados and her mother is in the process of building a house there in Siargao.
Happily stumbled here. Lovely family. There are already vloggers who's permanently moved here in the Philippines. If it feels like home then you should consider staying. You may want to search Andie Eigenman famous actress who has also decided to move her family to Siargao. She has two girls maybe a playmate for Story. Don't worry about Story's education. Home schooling is accepted here even before pandemic. You can go find Doug & Cheska Kramer on IG and can inquire about homeschooling. They all homeschooled their 3 children. I am so happy to see your Mom getting busy with her garden Stay happy and healthy
Did you know that the country was discovered by a Portuguese explorer named Ferdinand Magellan under the flag of the Spain. Under King Phillip. FYI. Thanks for showing videos of your daily life. It is very interesting to see POV of foreigners. I am a Filipino stuck in the USA, an missing my country more. Your little bundle of joy will grow up more sensible to environment . Nature will teach her the basic survival skills and that is the importance of family being together in a natural setting.
I am really happy you have been making your video diary and sharing it to the world. When you are happy we are happy too . I grew up with a backyard full of fruit trees and my earliest happiest memories were in that yard , playing , climbing and eating the fruits😊 and hanging out with parents who took care of the trees.I know Story is only 3 but hopefully she remembers the feelings when she grows into an adult😉
Your Mum is amazin’!!! I’m getting excited too on how her greeneries gonna turn out in the future😍 be lookin forward to it!😍 such a wonderful fam! You’re an inspiration❤️......watching from 🇬🇧
Kudos guys for providing videos about life in the Philippines!!! even in the face of adversity, Filipinos persevere, remains with a positive outlook. I am from Philippines but have been away for so long. I haven't even been to Siargao!!!
Your Mom's garden starter is excellent! She is truly a green thumb. So wonderful that Story can experience all of nature and being nurtured by it on many levels :)
I love the baby, I am glad you enjoying the place, it’s s blessing that you there during the lockdown, if ever it happened you are some other place you get stuck inside the house? It’s s blessing that your in Philippines
This is the 2nd vlog I’ve watched from you guys. And you know what? I was smiling from the beginning till end watching and hearing your words. Your words gives assurance that life is actually better with less things we have and that life will probably be a lot better after this crisis. Thank you for sharing your story.
Always looking first for Story and i got a good smile when she did the shout out at the end and when she said bye bye! And that will be with me until i will see her on your next vlog! I read each and every comment in your daily vlog just to see how and how many lives you have touched and inspired! Keep on vlogging with the simplest content: reminding people of nature, family life and positivity! Good job!
I'm glad that you guys are settling good in Siargao. I hope this all end soon and we go back to our new normal. I always look forward to your videos your positivity lifts my mood everyday. 💗💗 Thanks for daily motivation. Keep safe and healthy.
Oh wow! So beautiful! You guys are so lucky to be there. It's that perfect summer that most of us are missing and you're having that. It's the safest place in the world right now. To make money - make more videos about loving the Philippines because Filipinos love it when foreigners love the country! You'll get tons of Filipino fans!
Its a blessing in disguise that you are stranded in the Philippines especially in Siargao. Siargao has a zero or a few case/s of convid19 virus. According to Dabble and Travel, they felt its a mistake leaving the Phillippines because UK has more cases and many people are dying. I thought your mother is a Filipina. She likes to plant also. Thanks for the reflections that you shared.
im in one of the islands of the philippines. siargao is on my top list after the world recovers from the pandemic. you're a lot fortunate to be stranded on this one of the beautiful islands of my country. keep enjoying its treasure! God bless
I missed living in a rural area, tress, fresh air, people, foods, and mostly is how it is simple to live life, unfortunately my work is here in metro... 😭😭😭😭 I actualy watched your prev. vids and this is verry positive to watch specially on this pandemic time, we should be more positive..
Your video has been part of my quarantine routine. Thanks for sharing them. You are indeed very lucky to be able to go out and about freely without wearing a mask and weary of the people around. I am also doing gardening using recycled water bottles. I am happy your mum is now settled and occupied with her little vegetable garden. Kindly share updates of their growth. Stay safe and God bless.

Having to live in that beautiful place along the beach is like being locked down in paradise.

Correct and agree
I love the joy in your Mom’s voice when she’s talking about her garden.
"At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun."
Beautiful!
Nice!
I think Story feels at ease with her surrounding specially the sea is because she can speak to the sea, remember, she is Moana :)

I'm an introvert and I don't go out much, just once a week to buy necessities and people used to urge me to go out more. Now it's acceptable to stay more at home 😂 I enjoy gardening and going to garden centers, I love it! The only thing that makes me sad is I can't go to garden centers.
You guys are so lucky to be quarantined there. That is paradise!
Baby girl is so cute and having fun with her own.
I wish we're stuck in siargao or in any beach, but here we are still working because "we are essential worker" lol
A filipina here in Alabama 😁
Bless you and your family.
Stay safe
@@dfdesignstudiointernational thank you and God Bless your Family too.
@@MsRuth31 thank you, stay safe too.
It's much better there than anywhere else.. you're in a Paradise !!😍
Exactly
Lucky you're in the philippine, during pandemic
youtube suggestion:☺️
Happy to see foreigners appriciate our country..
Maraming salamat at Ingat po🇵🇭❤️🙏
I'M very happy for you and your FAMILY just be safe ...God is always with you
your mom is really born with green thumbs..anything she plants lives..so gifted..!!!
Everything is planned for you all!
It’s not by accident!
Praying all the best blessings for you all!
I watched your vlogs every day like my day is not complete without seeing your vlogs!
Like your humble way of talking, coping with the situation, mature and amiable attitude to others regardless of color or status!
Wow that lady tending her garden has a beautiful speaking voice. Very clear diction.
FYI: The best 100. Phillippine Medicinal Plants by Jaime. Z Galvez Tan MD, MPH and Isidro C Sia , MD, Phd. If you guys decided to stay. Thank you.
Nice. In Thailand and also grateful to be here (esp vs say US or UK). Thanks for the ongoing content guys.
I've never seen your mother talk so much and be so upbeat! She is so in her element......who would not in that paradise!!
I think y'all should live wherever you are happy! I would love to be able to move wherever I wanted but that is not possible for me. Enjoy life!
Your mom is amazing she looks like local in her clothes..
God bless your awesome family..
Story always makes me smile! What an adorable darling! You all look contented in your little corner of the world and it makes me happy to see that! Your videos give me a sense of peace when the rest of the world is scary and chaotic. ❤️
Mommy is so cute, planting all those.
You really are safe and lucky in that spot. I watched other vloggers and they just stay in the hotel or in the villa. In your case you have a lot of freedom to do a lot of things, you can go out to buy things and the view is awesome. 😊
Keep safe and praying for your family...thanks for appreciating Filipino hospitality...
So lucky to have that amazing place on quarantine...
wow proud to b a Filipino...enjoy ur stay n d phil...cute seeing grandma gardening...stay safe
there are circumstances in life where we are given opportunities to bond more as a family and reflect in the simplicity of life compare to a chaotic environment, the hustle and bustle of city life. you got a lovely place to unwind compare to where am i today. i would probably want to hit the beach once this is over. thanks for your vlogs. you are our windows to the outside world. stay safe
Good for you guys. Almost all foreigners who fell in love with our country underwent exactly the same things u r undergoing right now. All the family, contemplation, nature, coming around and everything. Well i wish you and your family good luck and stay safe guys.
Hope to see a KALAMANSI and SILING LABUYO plant on your Mama's garden.
Just seeing Moana enjoying everything around her puts a smile on my face.
you are an example of a very beautiful positive couple. continue doing this for others to emulate.
so blessed for mom is together with you...
I am so happy to see your Mom getting busy with her garden
Stay happy and healthy
Thank you for Loving our Country Philippines.
Thank you for sharing your story with us ...all is well in the desert in California
Much love.....kathleen
I like you both being down to earth. That's what's missing in today's vlogs. You've brought back a minute but influential community.
Nice weather, greetings
Oh! those seaweeds are so delicious & refreshing
It was beautiful out today
The Dog is reflecting about other dog's in Quarantine.
100K subs is nearly there. Silver play button for the family. Keep on the quality content my family and I enjoy to watch together. Keep safe! 🙌
Good job!
The reaction or expression of Story when she saw the dog coming (@3:26) is just so heartwarming. Just an "ahhhh" but it's so pleasing to hear.
You'll get tons of Filipino fans!
just subscribed.. finally the long wait is over... keep safe
your daughter is so adorable 😘😘😘God bless your cute Family give kisses to Momma. 😘🥰💐
I actualy watched your prev. vids and this is verry positive to watch specially on this pandemic time, we should be more positive..
Ur more luckier than us, we stuck in our house counting lizard and ants bcoz were not allowed to go out.
Where do you live
Your daughter is such an angel.. I really enjoyed watching your videos.. Keep safe all the time.. And more videos to watch... Hehe..
