Let's Play Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix (Critical Mode, Lvl1 Run) Part# 3

Finally get to fight an actual boss!
The Twilight Thorn fight isn't hard, not even in Critical mode, but it's still wise to take precautions.
I decided to play it safe for the most part, usually dodging his attacks. That ring attack is annoying as you have to mash the triangle button so much.
In the end I got ballsy and landed the final 3 hit combo.
The struggle is one of my personal favorite mini-game... battle...
anyways I do some safety saves to avoid repeating/losing matches.
That Axel fight is longer than usual for a good reason; It's a good introduction to lvl 1 runs on how not to rush into action as that will eventually kill you if you aren't careful. As a reminder, a lvl 1 runner will never receive the once more/second chance abilities which keep you safe from dying, so hastily attacking too much can prove fatal.
Oh yeah, I will probably not mention all the new cutscenes so look out for those at your own will.
Regarding cutscenes:
Japan got the exclusive game Kingdom Hearts II:Final Mix+ for the PS2. It included an expanded version of Kingdom Hearts II and a remake of the GBA title (Kingdom Hearts:Chain of memories) which was redone using the PS2 models, and officially called Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of memories.
KH2FM used the English voice overs as opposed to Japanese, However this game also included new cutscenes in which there were no English voice overs. As to not distract the player from hearing the English voices then suddenly hearing Japanese voices, the developers decided to mute the new scenes. Even though they were mute, the developers did infact add Japanese voices to the new cutscenes, but they were only viewable under certain conditions:
Complete KH2FM on any difficulty.
Have a completed save file of KH Re:CoM
Completing KH2FM granted the player a Theater Mode which allows viewing of all cutscenes. Having a completed save file of Re:CoM allowed the player to view the new cutscenes with Japanese audio.

Hah... you have more patience than I did on the Axel fight. Well played. Though I will say I did the fight 5 times in the same amount of time :P

Yeah, you pretty much can't fuck around doing w.e when it comes to Lvl 1 boss battles. The later bosses will be more fun and frustrating, but to me they feel very rewarding.
