Hai make no mistake was touched by my God, when you look into his young eye , you could see the glow, the same glow that Merle had as a young man, I am sure that he knew that his life was ending, and how he would miss his family, he was not like the rest of us, no not from his birth until the end, when you are touch that way it is just the way that it is, please remember Hals handsome bright face, full of life and remember how his music made you feel in your heart, and look for the next gift from my God, and remember that it may only be for a short while. This is true the world over. it took me 70 years to learn it, no one told me. Thank You BB

He will live in our hearts forever i love his music 🎼 n his voice. 💞 To his family n friends. In Loving Memory. God saw you getting tired n cure was not to be. So He put his arms around you n whispered “Come to Me” With tearful eyes we watched you n saw you pass away. Although we love you dearly we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the Best. 🙏 Mr. Ketchum RIP 💐

    Oh Hal,
We met in Austin at the start of Hal's rise to fame. It was an absolute joy to run into him on the road again years later. I was production manager and lighting director for Sammy Kershaw back then and when Hal walked up to the stage we knew each other immediately. We shared time on his bus telling old stories of our past and Hal quizzed me on Indian lore and medicine.
I made him tomahawks and beaded possible bags and we traded these amongst ourselves over the years. Hal had a troubled soul and he often spoke of the three crows who followed him. He viewed them as an omen and a curse.one evening after a hard show we were talking and I told him to draw the crows out on a deerskin and surrender them to me to bear their wrath. I went home and made the skin into a beautiful large possibles bag and made it with the crows turned upside down to signal their checked agression and bind them to the bag and away from Hal.
The bag still hangs in my office...a tribute to my good friend.
    Rest now wander no more.
I love you brother of the road, you are freed to the wind that blows your spirit to our ears forever.

I can't count the number of times I listened to Hal Ketchum's music in my kitchen all alone while mopping the floor or doing the dishes. He lifted me up and out of the hard times in this life. I have played Past the Point of Rescue more times than I've played any other artist and I listen to all kinds of music. Country isn't even my thing. He made me dance and made me cry, but most of all he elevated my existence. His voice was unique and the ache in it, the tenderness, the freedom, the gorgeous texture of it sank into my heart and is part of me. When you're that good, you can't ever really die.

After a career as a radio station DJ in 1990 I decide I would start my own DJ business. I had regular gigs @ several country bars as well as rodeo's, festivals ,waddings etc. Absolutely loved Hal's music I will always be a huge fan. My sincere condolences. We all will miss him. Never forget him

The early '90s was a wonderful time for country music. So sad to lose some of these talented artists now.
