Especially, if they have no romantic relationship and that is how she sees his role in the house.
Yeah people take that and run with it. I remember once I asked my 5 year old if “she wanted to sit with daddy” and my friends husband asked me if I called him daddy all the time. Foregoing the context in which I referred to him as daddy. Mary’s case is obviously different given she married her step grandpa, but there are times where it’s ok to refer to someone as daddy
now the whole “bcuz” things makes sense. Lisa and meredith are trying to say that it was jen who had been threatening meredith’s son based on how it was typed out
Meredith's odd loyalty to Mary makes zero sense, she defends the weirdest things and pretends Mary is a normal person
I think Meredith knows that Mary is very odd. But given that she is a housewife, all of them have to work with her odd or not. I think that Meredith was only loyal to Mary because Mary was there for her when she was not getting along with Jen or Lisa.

Isn't Mary's husband the father of her son? My neighbor calls her husband/kids' father dad. It's personally weird, however, definitely not unheard of.

I agree but you can’t blame Mary. Just like Heather said that she was so blinded in her faith that she was horrible to friends and
family. He could have had similar convictions giving significant donations thinking that would make him closer to god. Either way, even if I was a millionaire there is no way that I would give donations like that to the church.
