Or just say hello :)
Pete! What about video? Phone, camera? 🤔 thanks! 👍
Hey man! Love the Channel. Spent the day clicking through and learning as much as I can!
Quick question! Do you have any videos on the best way to make money/monetize a podcast??
Hello and thank you I’m adv
I am shocked you don't have more subscribers. Your editing is great, you are captivating, and you share super honest and valuable information. Well done, keep it up!
YOU AND ME BOTH.
And you're welcome, of course! Thank you for the kind words :)
The realist are always the most underrated - I’m sure he’ll be big by next year.
lmaaaaaaoooo the lil girl drawing "so why this stuf that i need to buy?" LOL THATS ME!!!!
haha right?? Me too :)
OK this is very very good. I love the built-in timer along the bottom.
hey thanks man! Got that idea from Primal Video I think.
@@DoYouEvenBlog what did you use to make it?
riverside.fm for remote video interviews (like zoom but records files locally for high quality)
descript for editing (quickly editing a word document which edits the vid. auto removes filler words)
buzzsprout (plus youtube) for hosting, distribution, and analytics
hey that's pretty much me too! :)
@@DoYouEvenBlog awesome :)
Nice and simple
Pete - yet again paving the way to help me grow my business and make my life easier....
Aw. Thanks Jen. I appreciate that!
Thank you for sharing a very useful content!
This is great thanks
No YOU'RE great ;)
You rock my friend. Thanks for being you. 🙏
BPE: Big podcasting energy 😝 cheers Pete!

Brilliant, Pete, thanks a lot!
My pleasure! :)

YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME WOOOOOOO
Love these videos!!
Yay! I love you.
;)
This was so so useful thank you so much xx
you are verrrrrry welcome :)
thank you !!!
You're welcome!!!!
Great info! Thanx so much
Of course! :)
Thank you for your great videos 😊 Very helpful and appreciated.
You are so welcome! ;)
Thank you for doing this! Great content. My question is about Anchor. What are your thoughts for starting out using a free host such as Anchor? I'm sure there are catches. Thanks!
So much value in your videos.
Glad you like em! :)
I think I’ve laughed more than captured information - still learned some tips though! 😂 thanks for this!
Always super-informative and entertaining -- Thanks Pete!!
You're welcome Robin :)
Great video Pete!
Thanks Scott!
Love all the audio tips. It is helpful to have some actual numbers in there as a base for finding the sweet spot in my setup.
Glad it was helpful Thomas! I appreciate you :)
Thanks for the great video, quite useful
You’re quite welcome ;)
Thank you so much for the info on Auphonic etc. I feel I'm proficient in all of the steps leading up to compression/leveling. I also figured there was a standard for podcast levels but I didn't know how to make all the individual parts come together to make a good sound. I'm really looking forward to trying out auphonic and hopefully having a better sounding podcast. I also learned I should use dynamic mics instead of condenser mics. I have audio technica condenser mics but the only dynamic mics I have are good old fashioned SM58s which I can plug into my USB mixer or I also have a USB interface. Will the SM58 sound good or do you think I should upgrade to a higher quality dynamic mic? I come from a music background so while the whole recording/editing process is familiar its new at the same time. I really like your videos. They are super helpful.
Love this! And yes! I think there is such huge power in starting your own podcast! But I ALSO think that doing interviews on OTHER people's podcasts can get you even bigger results! Think about it...big exposure, brand building, credibility by being interviewed by another thought leader/influencer. It's the fastest path to building your authority.
Oh 100%. It should be in just about any "influencer" (that includes us) marketing strategy--even if they don't have a podcast :)
Now want to have me on your show?
;)
Great channel two thumbs up
Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much for this. I literally opened UA-cam to find a video (hopefully from you) on podcasting. I was so ready to throw in the towel. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I’ll be signing up for the course very soon. Thanks again!
Aw awesome! I planned it. I can read minds ya know.
Ty
Hoping to start my podcast on January 1st as my New Years resolution with my buddies and this just popped up. It’s a sign I MUST do it now.
YUS. Do it! Good luck :)
Mixpad and Videopad, just downloaded both today, editing a small test run (5min) video and so far so good. Using just a basic podcast mic(onn) and Logi webcam, jbl headphones. looking to get a website up soon, BlueHost or GoDaddy maybe. Appreciate the videos you have put together on getting started.
No problemo! Sounds like you're off to the races :)
I'm going to purchase the Focuserite 2i2 Gen 2 Audio interface...and from what I have gathered If I'm looking to have at least 2 people on a podcast and they both want to use headphones, I will also need the Mackie 4 way Headphone amplifier. My question is how do I plug the audio interface into the head phone amplifier, so all guests can have a pair of headphones? Is there a cord I need? TSR?
Wow, so this is absolutely great, Pete! thanks for having dedicated so much time to share what you've learned! Starting a podcast is definitely a challenge, but you're the best sherpa right there to stand by our side!
Brief question: what do you think of Zoom recording quality? Does it record locally or in the cloud? If I interview someone, would it be better to record through Zoom AND through Audition simultaneously? Or is it just a minor difference?
Thanks! Have just suscribed!
First, see my remote recording reviews here: ua-cam.com/video/RGWblzHeG8o/v-deo.html
Second, you can recorded locally or in the cloud (though check out which paid Zoom plan you'd need. Not sure how much you can do via the free version).
Third, I'd probably just record and use the audio from Zoom. There are settings in the brower-based Zoom dashboard where you can enable "original audio," resulting in higher quality audio files. Still not as high as a Riverside.fm or Squadcast.fm, but better than normal Zoom.
Hope that helps!
Oooh, the tip to talk towards the mic at an angle is a good one! This will be handy when I'm on video and don't want the big pop filter covering my face!
YES. This is the precisely the reason I hated them lol.
Hey! I really enjoy your videos! My question is, if I start off on Redcircle, is it easy to change to Buzzsprout later if I decide that's a better fit?
Yup! In fact, I literally recorded a video of ME switching from Redcircle to Buzzsprout ;) ua-cam.com/video/WXDYljeHkyk/v-deo.html
Take that algorithm! Hi Pete!
Haha right? Thanks Matt!
I just found you. Great info. Can you use two lavalier mics on a y-lead direct to your computer for host and guest? I realize I would not be able to edit them separately.
That's a great question Henry, and I've never tried to do that before!
I wanna say yes--but you'd honestly just have to try and see. Could also find a really cheap audio interface if that doesn't work.
Have you tried the new PD-70 Presonus dynamic broadcasting microphone????
I haven't, but I AM a big fan of Presonus stuff in general! Probably worth a try :)
Thank you for your video. If I do several long Podcast Buzzprout does not seem like a good way to go. Does it? Expensive?
How long we talkin? I put out several hours a month and have never come close to their limits (I'm on their cheapest paid plan)
@@DoYouEvenBlog I am happy my assistant do my UA-cam videos as Podcast. There will be a lot of them.
when you have multiple people/hosts- how is it possible to record with usb microphones directly to the computer? or the best products to record on?
I'm assuming you're all in the same room?
1 - if only 2 hosts--you could probably use 2 USB ports (or more if you have mnore USB ports)
2 - use multiple computers (and either sync later on in post-production, or use a remote recording software (not recommended for this really))
3 - Get mics that aren't USB (or that have both XLR and USB!)
17:52
Influencer Ian?
Do you mean with another person in a studio, like a two mic setup in the same room?
What if I want my show topic to be like random?
Random question...do you play that mando?
Yup! Though it's been 5-6 years since I've been any good ;)
2 questions how come you don’t mention anchor as the free hosting option and 2, can I just use fcpx to edit my podcast?
1: I don't really recommend Anchor and covered that in a separate video: ua-cam.com/video/bNw-nsjmE-o/v-deo.html
2: Yes, I've heard of some folks using FCPX...but it is NOT optimal at all. You can't add effects to the entire podcast master track, or even individual tracks. Use Garageband (or Logic Pro if you have it)
@@DoYouEvenBlog Thanks for the reply, I'll check out your video about anchor. Looking to start podcast soon!
Can you use a gaming headset or something like that
Probably better than the built-in mic, so yes!
You'll probably get what you pay for in terms of sound quality though.
bahahhahaha Podcast Pam
#1 goofy
Is it possible to start a podcast with just a smartphone?
Yup! 100%.
I'd probably recommend going with Anchor.fm if you're doing that. See my review/tutorial on that here: ua-cam.com/video/bNw-nsjmE-o/v-deo.html
Step one: Have something to say. If you don't, please just keep it to yourself. Sorry.
