Still have this for my Sega CD, one of the must-have games for the add-on. I picked it up for cheap while on vacation for about 10 dollars. The soundtrack is just amazing. The song, "Destinationz Unknown" that beings on level 3 is easily the best in the game.
I used to play this a lot as a kid. Brings back lots of memories of sitting in the basement at 2am in the summer with a 12pack of pepsi, a couple totinos party pizzas, and 3-4 of my good friends that I still hang with 15 years later (god i feel old now). AND HELL YES THE SOUNDTRACK ROCKS!!! Sometimes I used to run the cd-player program on the SegaCD with this game in the drive and put it on repeat while I drew/did homework. Thanks OP for the trip down nostalgia lane!!

Oh wow, I remember when I got this. As my upbringing was somewhat low income we only got the SegaCD stuff when eBay came out (and by then these sort of games were inifinitely cheaper in the wake of N64, I still remember the December news reporting fist-fights and stampedes over that and Tickle-Me-Elmo). The music was some of the best I ever heard. This, Racing Aces, Stellar Fire (awsome music again) and the 32X Doom and MetalHead makes me think of Middleschool and the end of my childhood.
Stage 5 (the second 1984 stage) was hilarious for some reason. The up-beat 80's music and I remember ending the stage by posing infront of that flag in the moonlight. THAT was sooo awsome being able to do that!
This game actually started out as a Sega Genesis game. Then they decided to remake it for the Sega CD, they remade everything, the graphics, the music, added new levels, modified gameplay to be a lot better.
Second place should to go "Terminator 2: The Arcade Game" imo. And if you count "RoboCop vs The Terminator" as a Terminator game, then this one should be tied with "The Terminator" for Mega CD.
I would also say RoboCop vs The Terminator despite the RoboCop universe merging. You still have to fight Skynet, and even go to the Terminator future to finish it off.
the most dangerous vision of los angles i have ever seen. i thought the gang war between the crips and bloods were bad enough. this punk rock gang is scary.
you to? i loved the DC but now it's collecting dust,i got my sega cd with the genesis model 1.i still play it frequently, thats about old sega you pick it up once in a while.ohh and snatcher what a game i played it on pc engine and sega cd,the cd version is defnitly my favorite.the console could have ment something, okay it's like a beefed up genesis, but what is wrong with a genesis that could kill off a snes with games like gunstar, imagen how big could have been.
The movie material is rather bad, even back then. Perhaps if they could have replaced those with animated still scenes or something, they could have rereleased this game on the GBA. I would have liked it if they changed small things though like the layout of some levels which really don't make much sense and that you see the Reese character yielding different guns and not the reuse of the same sprite for all the weapons.
Yep, that was the original developed by Probe who did a lot of movie tie in games for consoles such as Alien 3 for the SNES and Genesis/Megadrive. While at the time it looked okay, the fact that the game was so short really frustrated people. Virgin developed this game in house when they were still a developer, I think this same team later also did Robocop VS The Terminator for the Genesis/Megadrive as some sprites seem to be the same.
I love the music that starts during the Skynet level. Reminds me of melodic/progressive metal that bands like Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Evergrey, or Dream Theater would create. Even though the music in T1 and T2 will always be epic and special, somehow I'd love if they use music like the Skynet level to create tension, emotion, and beauty at the same time if that makes sense.
It looks kind of gratuitous, to be frank. Sonic is about having the freedom to explore the levels, not HAVING to explore them. That time travel mechanic looks kind of stupid. They should have just released Sonic 3 and Knuckles on one disk with extra music and levels.
hard to believe sega cd is over 20 years old. soon all the machines will break down and we will just be left with useless games unless someone like AT games releases a Retro SEGA CD machine
man this game is very well made!! after all the screws up on the nes and snes, they finally got it right, it has great music, but it dosnt fit the game :( ,
Yeah, sound track is indeedly awesome how ever unfortunately game itself doesn't do much justice for it. Especially all of these silly sound effects wich sounds like "blob blob blob" and "bliu bliu bliu"
Yeah, but the thing is, why is he gonna do something questionably illegal when he can just use the actual CD and not have to deal with any legal issues?
Dude, give the terminators a chance. You're fucking demolishing them.
The development team for both this game and RoboCop vs The Terminator (Mega Drive version) was Virgin Games USA.
Screw Sonic CD. This and Final Fight CD look like the REAL reasons to own the add-on!

@nuke97 Download a segaCD emulator, maybe it will let you use your CDs. I had a PLatstation emulator, and I could use either isos or an actual PS1 CD.

Nice. Looks to me like the only decent Terminator game that was ever made (second place would go to Redemption, but thats it).

How many Sega CD games have you played to make that assumption? The Sega CD had quite a few good games.
@ProManUnitedFan lol the AVGN references are becoming so popular in all the game walkthroughs on UA-cam where he's reviewed the games themselves.
Because Virgin never cared to develope a Terminator game for the NES. You had Mindscape and Acclaim there doing their own Terminator games.

7:15 happy killing music
tommy tallarico never failed to disappoint when it comes to video game music. look at earthworm jim 2
This is back when Shiny Entertainment still made good games. Music is by Tommy Tallarico, I believe.
I have this game with its original jewel case and booklet but no Sega CD system to play it on! :*(
For anyone wondering this is a 100% ORIGINAL version, the Genesis game was totally different...
If you mean this is the only good game based solely on the first film, then yes, you are right.
man this game is very well made!! after all the screws up on the nes and snes, they finally got it right, it has great music, but it dosnt fit the game :( ,
This game always had some great music; I used to keep the game CD just to play the music.
YAH im actually the only one that agrees with you, I hate Sonic CD honestly. the gameplay is superb but the level design makes me want to barf!
This guy must have run through this game countless times to be this good. I rented this game when it came out and loved it, especially the music.
Terminator is boss! The music is awesome (except for levels 4 and 6), and Arnie is in it. this is one hell of a game, though
Even though the music can be catchy it's out of place. It's like sonic the hedgehog with firearms, it's a happy fun time.
There was another Terminator game where you were wearing a trench coat and had a shotty.
I'm sure that was on Megadrive
It has the Terminator theme as well as some great original music of it's own.
Best of all is that Snatcher also features Terminator-like baddies in its own.
8:18 There's a whole bunch of armed gang members INSIDE the Tech-Noir disco? What kind of dance club is this?!
The music in this game is fucking AMAZING...
Never heard such good rock riffs in a side scrolling game.
I have definitely clocked more hours on my Sega CD than my Dreamcast.
everyone is talking about the music. Tommy Tallarico kicks ass, and does a lot of game music.
@talbot1939 anny good other sega cd games with good music one `?
i think i should buy one ^^
Yeah, sound track is indeedly awesome how ever unfortunately game itself doesn't do much justice for it. Especially all of these silly sound effects wich sounds like "blob blob blob" and "bliu bliu bliu"
This game is not by Shiny. It was made by "Virgin Games USA".
lmao KYLE REESE!! THE FIRST MAIN CHARACTER IN THE HISTORY OF THE TERMINATOR VIDEO GAMES
The Sega CD was an amazing idea music wise - if only it had been more successful - -
@Niko1Linni Thanks for the tip! I'm going to try that out.
Tommy Tallarico for the win.
why would the local gangers wanna kill kyle reese. and why are there so many of 'em.
Thats Tommy Talarico bro. I have the soundtrack for this game. Best 2D game ever
Tommy Tallarico was the man! His music really kicked ass for Sega of America.
Pretty bad comment. This isn't even one of the top ten best Sega CD games.
damn u kick ass at this game. The avgn needs to take some lessons from u
Yeah, I sort of confirmed that myself with my earlier posts to this movie.
i am uploading this game but not a speed run
Damn, when did Kyle Reese become Ryu Hayabusa lol?
this game has amazing music. I'm surprised.
I thought guiles music from street fighter was playing there))))5.54min
You can see where the Robocop vs Terminator game engine came from.......
The street punks seem to be just as durable as the robot endoskeletons..
Yeah, but the thing is, why is he gonna do something questionably illegal when he can just use the actual CD and not have to deal with any legal issues?
YOU, my friend, ARE A GOD - "favorited" this video. Good memories!
Tommy Tallarico is a god... music is so awesome.. awesome game too.
Who is Reese shooting when he arrives in 1984?
Then you haven't played snatcher. One of the best games ever.
Sweet, we get the best of 80's thrash metal AND 80's techno!?
I guess this game was made before headshots meant anything
BTW the lvl 2 music is THE FUCKING BEST!
the music is pretty cool! =P much like the '80s
Does anybody know any good Sega CD emulators?
Wow, John Connor was bad ace!
Tech-noir is the best level.
Much, much better than the genesis version
Let me guess... you've played this alot!
good work
sega number one
The music in this is friggan amazing :D
@Wolfdragon92584 Snatcher
The game sucks but the music is epic!
Reese - Sergeant, Tech-Com, DN38416
This game has some badass Music!!!
you can download it in a few minutes on any rom site and just use an emulator
