Nothing was more hype for me than getting Bionicle toys in my Happy Meals
Kids now won't be able to experience such happiness, they get more joy from an iPad and McDonalds toys now can be as simple as a puzzle.
Not true, all the kids I know (cousins and stuff) still love toys
@@TMNTransformerzbig W
@@TMNTransformerz Talking about the majority, go to a family restaurant and you'll see at least one kid glued to their iPad
@@TheMuppetyMan and many times you’ll see some kid with some dumb toy as well
@@TMNTransformerz Key word: Majority
I remember the iconic Sponge Out Of Water toys. I feel old.
Me too and I used to remember the crazy amount of marketing on the sequel similar to how big the marketing the first SpongeBob movie is
Same
Me too
Damn I remember those
I membor
I destincly remember getting the groudon toy and fed him a chicken nugget
Lol
Also didn't the happy meals have a code in them for Hoopa? Also primal Kyogre is peak.
Very much nostalgia
I wanted the Groudon so bad cus it was so cool and I could never hit the jackpot 😢
I feel really nostalgic for almost everyone of these, but the SpongeBob ones will always hold a special place in my heart, because my Grandma was a huge fan of the original SpongeBob back then and she had a couple of these on her window and she’d let me play with them whenever I was with her
I really wish I want the skateboard SpongeBob it looks so cool
@@Noahmediacorner it was really fun
@@williamaguilar5519 I wish McDonald’s can make more SpongeBob toys
I’m going to say this now. The best McDonalds transformers promotion was for Transformers animated. IT WAS LITERALLY A TRANSFORMER THAT COULD TRANSFORM IN YOUR HAPPY MEAL!
I think France got a exclusive blitzwing
You mean Transformers Armada
Nah the ones from 87- 90s Mc Dino toys(food to dinosaurs) and the changeables(food to transformers) was peak happy meal toys.
98 also had beastwars that were pretty solid for that time
FR, those were so dam cool, I still have Optimus and Bumblebee. I also liked the Bayformers figures they did except the fact that every time I got it I kept getting Grindor over the ones I wanted like Optimus
You’re like if Scott the Woz and Patmac had a baby together
Back when happy meal toys weren’t 100% of the time cheap activity books or puzzles or “collectible “ figures weee the only thing it dose is have you push a button for a cheep gimmick.
I mean they are still toys by the end of the day amd what's wrong with activity books, puzzles or collectibles of toys? I think you worded this wrong
The Angry Birds Star Wars promotion pissed me off so much. Hasbro was making ABSW figures and I thought that Mcdonalds happy meal would make some too, but no. All we got was a dingy little biddy plastic bucket. It was during this moment of heartbreak that I learnt how truly unfair the world was.
FR, I remember being so pissed about it. And I ended up throwing it away out of frustration
Back in the 2000's, McDonald's toys were even cooler with Disney promotions happening regularly from 1996-2007. Man I had a major good S tier childhood being a late 90's kid
6:19 I'm always surprised that next to no one talks about this goat nowadays despite the fact it was such a big part of McDonald's promotional material in the early 2010s. I saw that commercial literally dozens of times.
Happy Meals before the 2020s: THE GOAT
literally the other day I found the spectacular Spider-Man green goblin at value village
0:54
I was so overwhelmed with nostalgia, I shat myself, thank you.
Why can’t McDonald’s make good toys anymore?
Environment....😐
@@liamisawsomethat’s a stupid woke excuse in my opinion who cares
True, miss the good old days
@@Unicornmazdaain’t no way you’re calling happy meals woke
I remember getting the Mario kart toys right before we went camping and I remember playing it them there and I also remember wearing the hat while playing with them in my house’s hallway
It's like this video was MADE FOR ME. I grew up with so many of these man
17:42 Not me thinking this was an Aquatic Neptune gag 🫠
no way it actually happened?
The ones I remember the most were the Minions, Sponge Out of Water, and Ice Age Continental Drift toys
Nowadays I actually have a pretty decent collection of Mario Happy Meal Toys (some day I want to have them all) and some of the Pokemon cards along with the entire Sonic 2 set
happy meal toys hold a special place in my heart and ive been collecting them recently, i have to thank the channel fastfoodtoyreviews because i always watch a new video of his just to discover a new kids meal set i might want to buy, genuinely so much fun as a hobby and im happy there's been more appreciation for them as of late
I had a lot of Disney happy meal toys, like a talking nemo, squishy blob from treasure planet and poseable elastigirl.
I also had a lot of Barbie, strawberry shortcake and hello kitty happy meal toys.
6:45 I remember when I was 6 and got this book from my happy meal, I just cried. But on the bright side, 2 years later I learnt how a garbage disposal worked so I threw my copy of the book into it.
My brother still has his somewhere
I also remember the Pokemon ones and still having most of them and the cards and despicable me sets (I had a good childhood)
What’s the big deal?
Why would you want to get rid of those books? They are innocent and inoffensive
The goat who ate everything is peak McDonald’s Thing ever. F&cking owned that sh!t and read them all the time.
Bro I remember having the Tepig figure and the 2012 Pikachu, Dewott, and Woobat
The Pokémon ones were dope
Patmac's voice is sounding a little nerdier than usual
I remember once as a wee lad I went to McDonald’s during their Power rangers samurai promotion, i not only got the red ranger but also his fire smasher in the same box
We still have one the the Lego movie cups at my grandmas, I get a nostalgia blast every-time I see it
getting bakugan in my happymeal made my childhood.
also some of those sets you showed at the end throws me off cuz there is at least 1 toy that wasn’t accessible to us, like it was exclusive to other countries
Man, the despicable me 2 are the GOAT
Speaking of despicable me 2 I’m so excited for the 4th despicable me this year and i hope McDonald’s makes a happy meal toys of it but no cardboards on it
@@Noahmediacorner yeah same
@@ivangaelt2718 I hope the mega minions will be in the set
@@Noahmediacorner same
Ong, the laughing minions were goated
The lego Batman the video game toys are insane i wish I had those since I grew up playing the game but not having any of the figures until now that is I just bought the og Batman last week
15:31
I also used to have some of these. Specifically the fart gun one.
15:55
I used to have Mr. Krabs, Sandy, SpongeBob lifting, twisted SpongeBob, and Karate SpongeBob.
I vividly remember the Yoda and Obi Wan bobble heads bro😭 that yoda force toy was mind blowing too😂
I love the Human Torch and Spider-Man toys. I still have them, the Spider-Man magnet is such an awesome idea!
Wizard of oz dolls are iconic I stand by that
I had the bracelet’s from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 happy meal as a kid. Honestly I regret getting rid of them.
I do remember my sister and I having the thing, captain America, human torch and silver surfer McDonald’s toys back then.
Really great video dude, this brought me back down memory lane.
Ok now i feel god damn old. I do remember seeing some of these toys in ads but didnt have a single one, because i was already too old to be the target audience
I stopped eating happy meals in 2009 so I'm glad I'm not the only "old" person here
I remember I had the Astro boy toy of him flying and as a kid I would hold it up while riding the escalator at the mall pretending he was flying.
I was thinking of not watching this, but I’m glad I did some of these especially at the end. I totally forgot and it takes me back.
15:42 knowing how big of a fan i am of the minions i remember having the phill jelly whistle toy out of all of this set, i remember not knowing what was the point of that Jerry toy
I never thought i would find another minions fan here
@@monicaruizgranados2622 well here I am!
@@minionme900 whats your favorite Minion? mine has to be carl
@@monicaruizgranados2622 probably Mike
My favorite minion is Kevin. He literally sacrificed himself to stop Scarlet. He also been redeemed thanks to Nefario.
I love this channel don’t stop
Damn I remember seeing the goat eating commercials from McDonald’s and remembering getting the Mario kart 8 happy meal toys like the Mario cap and the peach bike toy, good times
The Hello Kitty houses, Hello Kitty Birthday, and Strawberry Shortcake McDonald's toys are so nostolgiac. I remember playing with the Hello Kitty ones all the time, and I can vividly remember the scent of the Strawberry Shortcake toys.
icb the jungle book 2 sets didn't get brought up! you could build them as is or connect the walls and bridges with other sets, i remember having a bag full of different wall pieces from various sets. kept me occupied for HOURS as a kid :') snapping them together and making houses out of them is peak nostalgia for me!
The Neopets plushies are what I remember most. Collected so many of those
I still have my Spectacular Spider-Man suction cup toy and Venom water squirter
I owned a decent amount of those 2011 Pokemon. I remember going to McDonald's after my birthday that year with a friend. He got Pikachu and I got Tepig. I didn't have anything against Tepig, but I wanted Pikachu. I tried in vain to trade with my friend. My mom ended up running back into McDonald's to trade Tepig for Pikachu. Good times.
The minions are scary because they can survive practikaly anything
So do normal minions
Those plastic cups are legendary to me. I still have some of the lego batman ones
Was an avid collector of these back then.
In Australia 2000's, the girls toy was a pixel chix toy. Which was a mini video game (think tomagotchi) and I still think about it to this day
2008 felt like the last year Mcdonald's actually tried with their Happy Meal toys. particularly in the case of the Transformers Animated toys given these were the last fastfood toy that really transformed.
I grew up with some of these. I even had some of the minion toys.
One of the other toys I had was the smurfs movie ones from the 2011 and 2013 set. I still have a few of them to this day.
This is interesting for me as an example of a generational gap, but only slightly. The only toys in this video I got were some of those Clone Wars bobble head ship things. It’s not case of me being a decade older than you and not recognizing anything, but just being a few years older to where my experience was only slightly different.
For example, you mention the ad campaign for Amazing Spider-Man 2, but the campaign that’s memorable for me is Spider-Man 3 (Raimi trilogy). I swear, the symbiote suit was inescapable. Only difference is Burger King was a big rival with toys back then, so the Spider-Man 3 stuff was there instead of McDonalds. I also remember Transformers 2 toys at BK very fondly.
The other themes I remember from McDonald’s the most are Incredibles, TMNT 2007, Surf’s Up, Flushed Away, Bionicle, and a few others from that time period.
Sorry for the essay, but this video is just interesting to me as an insight into the mind of someone only slightly younger than me. And again having an experience with these toys that’s completely different to mine, but also very similar.
same as me I was like boy this guy is young. I remember the Spider-Man 3 toys being peak
Special mention to fastfoodtoyreviews he is the best fast food toy review
Holy crap I have the groudon figure that thing was one of the staple toys of my childhood
I still have a full set of the lego movie lenticular cups lol, love them to death and still use them pretty much on the daily
6:30 and the book campaign was even bigger in europe and is still going to this day with the books sometimes being inside a happy meal along with the toy
I was so hyped when McDonald’s would drop the Spy Gear happy meal toys
I really liked the 2011 ninja turtles ones they were very simple but nice to have especially when you had some tape and tech decks around
I Remember The SpongeBob Lost In Time Toys Where SpongeBob Was In Various Time Periods In Costume To Fit The Time Periods
I remember having the spider man 3 burger king toy wich changed from red spider man to black spider man the coolest toy ever made tbh
That wobbuffet one I found randomly abandoned at a target in 2015
The realistic spider toy creeped me out when I was a child
Nice video! What about all the awesome 90s McDonalds toys lol
I keep seeing SpongeBob, so I’ll say it; the toy that I remember most is the crabby patty car from the first SpongeBob movie 🤙🏽 that was a good time
I really miss the old kids meal toys, they used to be really awesome back then but now there just lame or just a cardboard, But hey cool video!
I remember getting those Star Wars tops with a different launcher for each. They were all from episode 1.
I still have the Lego Movie Emmet cup.
Holy shit someone else remembers those Madame Amberly dolls. I don't know why, but as a kid I found something endlessly fascinating about them. I guess just because their was no other toys that looked quite like them. My parents were endlessly creeped out by them and found it odd that I asked for those over the lego batman toys, but they really were an interesting remnant of my childhood.
I HAD THAT MINION WITH THE FART GUN, HE WAS MY FAVORITE TOY EVER.
0:55 I remember those and the minions one there was also a scooby doo one that was nice because it was pieces of a haunted house in separated toys or something like that I remember a lot of happy meals
man nowadays we are lucky if we get plastic figurines instead of boxes with a print or cardboard cutouts
I'm suing you for giving me a nostalgic overload :)
Mcdonalds toys just being books or cardboard pieces you put together now is actually depressing to see
I remember those tmnt 2012 season 4 figures where they went to space, I also remember them having very simple play features, like their hands spinning their weapons in the hands
I usually grew up with the 2012 ninja turtles
i tried to figure out how yoda was able to move that disc 3 years in total until my mom explained it to me. This is the first thing I think of when I think of Happy Meal Toys
I remember having the Bumblebee one from the first TF:Prime ser
You cant mention McDonalds happy meal toys without mentioning the Changeables line, where they were transforming mcdonalds food that became little robots, those things were awesome and I still have a few!
Of the Marvel Heroes set that one I always wanted was Wolverine but all I ever got was either Human Torch or Thing
I still have both of my finn and jake bendy figures!
I remember the TASM2 McDonald's toys, good times
One of my favorite promotions, ( I was born in 01 so take this into consideration) pixar pals with characters from my favorite pixar movies and cars
9:50 I remember I got 6 of the 8 toys in one day so I only need toys number 7 and 8 which were Wobbuffet and Hoopa. And I kept anticipating getting them cuase they were my favorites in the set it took 2 to 4 weeks for them to be found my mom surprised me with them when I whent in my room and suddenly they were on my bed I was so stoked it was awesome.
In Brazil, The Pokémon Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire Din't Have Mega Latios, Hoopa and Waabafet, But It Did Have All The Other Ones, And BOY, Am I Proud Of That Version Being Literally The Only Happy Meal Collection I Collected Every Single Toy Of, With The Criticaly Aclaimed Movie Sing's Collection Being a Close Second
I’m getting a tsunami of nostalgia right now. Thank you, random sonic oc
(If you get the reference, you get a 🍪)
13:08 I remember asking asking the person at the register to specifically give me Bumblebee for whatever reason, as a little kid. And surprisingly, I got him.
The Star Wars Bobble Head ships always reminded me of this video game i had as a kid. Star Wars Super bombad Racing.
Some of my favorites where the power rangers samurai & tmnt 2012 toys
1:27 I remeber having a girl Spider-Man wallet and comb. I loved it
my absolute favorite toy line as a kid was this one line of power rangers toys, they were all zord vehicles for each ranger, but each one was a part that you could COMBINE INTO A MEGAZORD if you collected them all, i tried so hard to get them all, i was making trades with kids at school, and i didn't even like power rangers that much
Man I remember having that suction cup Spectacular Spider Man toy and how much I licked the dirty cups to make sure they stick good. I also remember seeing the Star Wars bobble heads, I remember liking the R2D2 one but I didn’t like the Yoda one because I thought he was ugly. I still have a lot of Despicable Me 2 toys, I remember really wanting the purple minions, I don’t know why maybe I just liked how cracked up they were in the movie.
Hold up THE DOG THING IN THE ICARLY SET IS SO CUTE WTF
I really loved all the Skylanders sets they did
16:16
I used to have one of these too. I specifically had Bad Cop/Good Cop.
And maybe WildStyle as well?
I have the batman, bad cop, Emmet and vitruvius
omg this video was such a nostalgia trip. the shitty pokemon acrylic stands, halloween pails, i forgot about all of these
I actually had the mk8 mario hat and I wore it so much to the point where it broke 8 years later
I’m not sure if this needs to be explained if a part 2 is made
There’s these McDonalds toys of The Amazing World Of Gumball and you might be thinking. “Kay, I’ve seen the show and did not know there were toys, what’s so important about them?”
Well, they (alongside the CN Website) give Gumball a Red and White letterman jacket and shoes (even though he never wears shoes in the show). Shockingly he never wears that outfit in the show ever, but why does he look good in it? I bet it’d be weird if you saw a nostalgic cartoon animal wearing a leather jacket………..oh wait-
