      UPDATE - The monkey sitting on the bench is to represent the largest monkey - a mandrill! Thank you @rodhuntdraws!

    Funfact I have/had a Guinness world record as I was part of the team that made the World Largest Cake sculpture in 2014, in Westfield White City London, for the make a wish foundation in partnership with Fairy liquid. Cake served over 12000 and was 12.17m x 9.80m x 41 cm and they used 1 bottle of fairy washing up liquid to wash all the plates used. We worked from when the shopping center closed until 6am to complete it. It was an amazing feat, and so much fun!

      That's amazing!!! I'm trying to remember if there was an image of a cake or Fairy Liquid in this puzzle - I don't think so but there was so much going on that I may have missed it. Does the record still stand today or has a bigger cake been made?

    I was a tiny speck in a picture of the World;s Largest Free-Floating Raft of Canoes and Kayaks in the 1995 Guinness book. In order to make it a raft we had to hold on to the boats next to us. Record only lasted one year. Thanks for all of your interesting videos.

Been focusing on inside the middle and doing the outside last. But place n piece I can not do and have tried. Lobbed your channel though. ❤

    When solving a Rubik's Cube blindfolded, you have a certain amount of time to examine the mixed cube before being blindfolded. During that time you work out the complete solving algorithm, so unless you make a mistake, you know when you have completed it.

    • @fortheloveofpuzzles
      @fortheloveofpuzzles  7 місяців тому +1

      Interesting! So what happens if someone makes a mistake and things they have solved it and takes off their blindfold and it's not correct? Can they put the blindfold back on and continue, or are they disqualified??

    • @gilbertbarnett8225
      @gilbertbarnett8225 7 місяців тому +1

      @@fortheloveofpuzzles Once the blindfold is removed, the attempt is over, so there is no room for error. It is quite an impressive thing as they are working out the exact steps to solving the cube from just looking at it for a few seconds. The actual blindfolded part is not that hard. I got used to solving large portions of the cube without looking at it, but I'd need to look at major checkpoints in the solve to work out what were the next set of algorithms to use.
      I learned how to do an intermediate level solve one year as a teacher in South Korea. I suddenly had an extra 70 minutes of travel time added to my daily schedule and I wanted to have something productive I could do on a bus full of students. It was something that I had always wanted to learn. I'd learn new algorithms in the evening and then put them to the test on the bus. The kids loved scrambling the cube for me and timing me. I could still interact with them and other teachers. I got my solves down to about 1 minute, which I thought was good given I was using a really cheap cube.
