In fact, if you talk to them like you do in western culture (silently listening to other talking and wait for them to finish without you even saying anything), it is counted as not paying attention to them. When you listen to japanese conversation, you will frequently hear phrases like "sou da ne, sou desu ka?' or just generally repeating what other person last said. This is called Aizuchi, used to show that you are paying attention to the conversation.

There are fans that might say, "Oh, she's so cute, I wish she could be my gf". But if that idol got a boyfriend, or is seen with a guy, her fans might get jealous. But once again, this is one theory of what industry managers might think of about fans.

I do agree with how Japan does it, i.e entertainers should not build personal relationships. Why? I look at my country's entertainment industry and I see alot of broken homes. Entertainers would get married and the next year or two, you hear them breaking up. It gets worse if they have a child. Just think how hard this will be on the child. So yeah, if they want to get married and start a family they should retire from entertainment.

He runs multiple anime/seiyuu radios, writes/plays music, and host many seiyuu/anime related events. He is the best event MC and one of the most successful ani-radio hosts out there. Many many seiyuus/artists claim him as their "teacher" as far a radio goes (and that list is quite long). He's great at keeping events run on schedule and is able to continually squeeze out info out from people in a relatively short span while keeping the conversation entertaining. I personally like his shows a lot and probably will TL more stuff with him and his seiyuu guests in the future.

Lost Subs just started off recently so it takes time for people to find out about his channel and subscribe to him, I been trying to promote his channel on my own channel and via my facebook page to give him more exposure as well. Both of our goals are the same, we are trying to get more English VA related contents out there to help increase their exposure :)

In games, this can be like answering correctly to a dialog or making the correct move sequence to set off the plot to further the story. In this case, they are comparing real life to a dating sim where the event flag to further the relationship are missed (broken, irreparable) thus the "story" can no longer advance in that direction.
