When the author created Zenitsu, she didn't know that her work would be turned into an anime, let alone knowing who would voice Zenitsu. At the time Zenitsu was created, Kimetsu no Yaiba was nearly getting canceled by Jump due to low sale. And Shimono's personality is completely different from Zenitsu.
