Can the Korg NTS 1 Synchronize The PO 33 and TD 3? Answering a viewers question.

- So I was asked on Reddit and in the comments section of a previous video if I could explain how to use the Korg NTS-1 as a master clock for my PO-33 and Behringer TD-3. This half arsed attempt at a tutorial lays out the process I followed to make this work and what leads I needed to get the TD-3, PO-33 and NTS-1 playing nicely.

So my birthday is in two days and I'm getting my TD 3 finally can't wait to try this out thank u for real
Yaaay for birthdays. Let me know how you get on!
@@DocBolus yeah I guess it's gonna take a couple more days because Amazon deactivated my account but I'm on it but for real thank u so much for the knowledge
Worth the wait I reckon.
Hang on Doc, no time for humour. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo👍😉
To be fair my jokes aren't that funny to begin with.
Many thanks for this!
No problem, glad people find it helpful.
Finally I have them synced but I have a question.
How do I make them start/stop at the same time?
Glad you got the pair of them synced. I'm not sure if it's possible to get them to start stop at the same time. As we are using the NTS-1 as the master clock and that doesn't really have a start and stop feature. There maybe a way we they can be connected up so the PO-33 provides the clock but I haven't tried that yet.
I think it might be some time to do some experiments. If you get there before me let me know, and thanks for all your support so far.
@@DocBolus so if I had for example any volca instead of the NTS 1 I could trigger them at the same time? Do I need midi to start stop?
@@Neon_Xtal generally speaking Midi will send a start stop signal, the weak link here is the PO I think as it has no Midi so it may need to be started manually. However you could try putting the PO at the beginning of the chain, and setting the TD-3 to play. That way it will sit there waiting for the clock signal to come before it starts playback, then when you start the PO the TD-3 would start running.
I've never had a Volca so I am not sure how they work in terms of syncing, but I may well have to have a play with this to see what happens. I will get back to you when I do some more experiments I am intrigued.
This is very interesting. I used myself the NTS-1 as converter MIDI-CV to sync the PO with other machines. Yet I didn't know about the stereo/mono type of sync. I learned something useful. Thanks!
Glad you got something out of it mate.
thank u so much getting my nts 1 this weekend and hopefully my td 3 soon
great video thnx :)
Enjoy, let me know how you get on, and don't forget to spread the video around if you think it would help anyone else.
