- Trying to meet the deadline of Pride month, quite a bit of important conversation was left out of the original edit of Pride Month Q & Gay, and that didn’t sit well with us at all, so we present those conversations to you now! I was lucky enough to have an amazing group of individuals volunteer their time to make another video similar to the Having Pride video we did in 2017, taking questions from some of you and talking about our own personal experiences. We barely scrape the surface of issues, but we hope some things we say are encouraging to some of you out there! Hope you enjoy!!

@@ryn6744 Honestly, it's probably due to the exclusion movement. Which is crap, because, well, Aspec people are LGBT+!!! (It's not up for debate y'all). But Aspec identities should be talked about and discussed more, because so many younger teens and young adults get into physical relationships that they may not be entirely comfortable with but y'know, "sex is the norm!" or whatever. It's very frustrating, for me at least (and I'm not even Ace!!! I am the biggest Pansexual out there!!), so I can't imagine how frustrating it is for actual Aspec people.

The ace/aro conversation made my heart full because my girlfriend is ace (btw i'm a gay female) and we had a conversation about what she was comfortable with doing at the beginning of the relationship and we aren't physical other than the occasional kiss and honestly i'm perfectly fine with it because she's comfortable and happy with it and we are still going strong! (Almost 15 months!!!) She's so lovely and i love her!! Happy pride, even tho it's over pride for ones self and others never ends! Love yourself and others!!!!!!!
I'm personally aro ace but at a more extreme point to where the thought physically gross me out and those emotions don't click for me it makes me happy to see others who are like me as it makes me feel like i'm not faking
it makes me so happy to hear about allo people who are in relationships with people on the asexual spectrum because I often worry that being ace will make it impossible for me to find love

Agreed! I'm still figuring it out (not having dated anyone doesn't exactly make it easy but hey, what can you do?) but I've got a strong feeling I'm biromantic demisexual. It's really great seeing other people that I look up to that are demisexual as well because you don't see demisexuality as much in modern media as you see other sexual identities on the spectrum. Idk if that made any sense but yeah 😅
I also just love Joan a lot. Their personality is a lot like mine and their humor is so similar to mine a lot (knowing how much they contributed to DWIT made me really happy 😄).

I’m so glad you included Joan and Talyn’s experiences on the ace spectrum. Aces are very underrepresented, and I almost never hear stories about people like me. It was nice to hear other people’s experiences.

Yeah we don’t get much representation which is why when people as big as Thomas talk about the asexual spectrum it’s great for our recognition

We knew each other in kindergarten and went to the same school from K-9 and we got close in grade 6-9 then we drifted apart once high school came.
In those three years of getting close and becoming besties, i found out i was bisexual and i was falling for her.... spoiler alert, shes straight

I was a little bit upset by the lack of representation of asexuals in general medias recently, mostly because it is reallly hard to find relatable experiences to my own and hearing them and Talin talk about it made me feel included in the lgbtq+ community which is super important to me.

I feel so validated hearing about Joan’s and Talyn’s experience. I am also non-binary and on the ace spectrum. For the longest time, I just tried to have relationships and be intimate with people just because it was what I thought society expected me to do. I wasn’t ready and I hated it and I hurt myself and other people because of it. At one point, I thought I was going to be alone the rest of my life, because I felt like no one really understood me. Just lately, I found someone I really like and care about. They’re the most wonderful being and they’re also on the ace spectrum. We just started pursuing a relationship, it’s all very new but I couldn’t be more happy. Seeing another non binary, ace spec couple being happy and perfectly comfortable with who they are made my heart flutter and makes me hope for the future. Thank you ❤️ -Zal

Watching this video when it came out was the first time I heard about the Ace Spec. I didn’t think about it for a long time. A couple months ago I started questioning my sexuality. For a few months I thought I might be bi. I was reintroduced to the term ace by a few other UA-cam videos, I don’t know which ones though. A few weeks ago, I realized I’m ace.
