- Visited the Abandoned Turnpike again on Oct 24, 2015 and it was a beautiful day for a bike ride down the first superhighway. This video is all shot on the DJI Phantom 3 Professional quadcopter in 1080p. There are some artifacts in the video but that is due to the youtube video compression when uploading not the camera itself. Abandoned in 1968 this section has become a popular biking and hiking destination.

Wonderful video! I have always loved these old abandoned roadways, and you did a magnificent job capturing this one.
Lovely colours in the trees.such vivid reds n greens.nice shooting....Good luck with plans to open for recreation.
Again, excellent vid!! The fall colors are awesome in Pa!! No more comments on the bypass in the vid!!
I love them kind of video's you can see everything
awesome! great flying
Funny, the rhythm of the music you chose is just the rhythm I remember of tires on tar joints on that road. I have very vague memories of traveling on that road before it closed.
Jolie vue aérienne...
Nice job!
Great video, it is a very interesting place. I am in PA and slightly near Breezewood, would you mind giving me directions for how to get to that exact place?

That will take you right to the start of the trail. Enjoy!
Thanks!
Can you ride a motorcycle to the entrance?
if by entrance you mean the tunnel entrance then no, but you can ride a bike to the parking east of Sideling Hill Tunnel and then just walk the roughly half mile to the entrance. There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the trail
