This track is dedicated to his father who passed away. Sends me deep into the feels, incredible vocals and range. The track Burial Plot has the same vibes and raw emotion.

@Epic funny clips the lyrics are his dad fighting cancer ( cheating death) he then says i know you wont return to hell, implying hes already lived it, can heaven fall to earth, meaning can he bring his farther back to him, its very endearing, and the hurt he feels about it. its about the loss and grief, just because its not singing about how much fun they had doesnt mean he hated his dad.
Whoever is doing the sound and production of this live here deserves a raise. It’s so good

If it isn't playback, I completely agree! I saw them live and their FOH guy was using a freaking x32.... You can't get this quality of audio with those terrible pre-amps. So I'm concerned that is not live. BUT holy crap were they just as perfect live!

Obviously Rory is incredible, but Gino doesn't get enough credit. His riffs and backing vocals are phenomenal.. This band is a powerhouse. Way too much talent for one band. Why are they not one of the biggest bands in the world?

I've liked a few songs by The Contortionist before, but I've never listened to an entire album. Prog's never really been my thing, but I can appreciate it, and if you wanna throw some more suggestions this way, I'll gladly take them.
Sometimes though, I just love listening to some banger modern metal produced to be a hit and sound like everything else popular. Have you listened to Sleeptalk? I think it's an amazing album, and I DO listen to more than just what's popular or on the radio.

I became a fan from hearing them live at Warped Tour. I heard how good they sounded and stopped to watch and listen. Got to meet Rory and get a signature even though I didnt know of them before haha
I've seen the end of their set in Warped Tour, unfortunately crowd was pretty dull, and they were too. Maybe just the wrong crowd, and it was extremely hot, middle of afternoon, no clouds... Still, love their music.
Going to see them September 3rd at The Riff in Springfield Missouri. Going to be a great show

I mean they are slowly creeping up on a million monthly listeners on Spotify. So people are catching on. Plus, you have to give it time, they didn't transition into the more melodic style until a few years ago. They will be at Architects' level of popularity in the not so distant future. Believe that!

Its not the album version but this recording has been heavily processed. Doesn't mean he can't sing, just means either Sirius XM or Dayseeker's label wanted it professionally mixed to make them look extra good.

Backing tracks have changed how many live members you need in a band but I know Rory and Ramon and they don’t need much to entertain a crowd. They’ve been this great since Ramon was a barista at Kean and Rory was playing acoustic sets

Saw them live recently on their Aus tour and Rorys vocals were absolutely insane. Also gave the bassist a doob which he was stoked about, good times.

It's not. The vocals are all pre-recorded live tracks. Watch his mouth in these Octane videos and you'll see what I mean. Not knocking the dude, but he does make it obvious that he's not actually coming through that mic. Everyone but the drummer have those little tells in their performance that shows it was pre-recorded and rehearsed for live shows. A lot of bands do it.
Was hoping to find this comment. Absolutely true. This is certainly not live. Band is still great live but this is certainly the album recording. No doubt about it.
@@elliotarchuleta576 It's not exactly the album version, but it was recorded again for a live setting and rehearsed to make it look and sound more like a live performance. There are a few things in this version that aren't in the album version. Namely, some of the "Oooo" sections he add and the, "Yeahhhh" at the end.
Nonetheless, I love this fucking band. Regardless of how they operate to achieve the end result. Shits fucking fire 👌

I had to explain to my wife that this was live.
I played it on the speaker and my mouth was open watching it in awe, and she said, "what? What's wrong?" and I had to just look up and say, "this is them in a live performance. Rory is just insane." 😮
Dayseeker is such a special band and Rory's voice is insane. They way he has so much power, range, and control live blows my mind every time.
Dayseeker is on a whole other level. Perfection doesn't exist, but they are as close to it as one can get.

I just saw these guys Saturday and I was blown away with how good they are. The story of his father dying before his daughter came and dayseeker blowing up. The last gift his dad gave him was love and success

Honestly didn't know of this band until I saw Octane put this up on FB...I lost both my parents - my dad in Sept 2020 and my mom in Jan of this year. This song is amazing, painful, and beautiful. I Miss them everyday.

Seeing this live in Tacoma (tiny venue) was one of my top concert experiences. They’re all incredible and Rory has insane range. My husband and I had each recently lost a family member to cancer and it was an emotional concert for us. We had someone next to us holding up a photo they brought of a loved one during one of the songs too. Memorable all around.
