4 years past his prime and he’s still making it all look so easy.

One on one, Larry would eat the defender alive. Double team him, he would find the open man or the cutting open man. If Bird was selfish, he could score 40 a night, but lesser wins for the Celts. The best about Larry was he made the other players around him better. No too much muscle flexing, no fancy dunking, no too much BS, just plain greatness.

Thanks fatal for this video. Look at the passing!! The Bird touch pass to Mchale is beautiful. Bird's vision and creativity are breathtaking. The shooting was an exhibition. Watching Bird is as if someone wanted to say "this is how the game is played". As far as the Jordan comments- he's best one on one, but Bird is the best 5 on 5 player ever. I'd even take Magic ahead of Jordan if I'm building a team.

Bird just does not have anything but an A+ game throughout his career. Talk about a “feel” for the game, none better. Always where he needs to be when he needs to be there

@phishhead11 In 1985 against the Jazz Bird was one steal away from a QUADRUPLE double in the THIRD QUARTER when he took himself out of the game missing the last of the 3rd & entire 4th quarter. One more steal would have given him the first regulation quadruple double in NBA history. Bird said, "I already did enough, when you're ahead by 30 points, what do you have to prove?

Amazing how he had some of his most dominant statistical seasons AFTER he was hurt.

Imagine having he privilege just practicing with Larry. He taught these young bucks to play & think like he does. Every player he played with.

Larry's back is gone by now, and he still dominates.

IMO, his best was at the end. There was no hurdle Larry couldn't beat. NONE

The folks who say Bird wouldn't flourish in today's league don't seem to realize that being able to adapt to the situation is one of Bird's greatest assets.

As always a fantastic job by fatal9ish. Thank you very much. Btw! Love all the Mchale highlights in this one. He us the reason I fell in love with the game in the first place, and he will always be my favorite player ever.

Once the Bulls got Pippen they were unstoppable, is that why the Pistons beat them 3 years in a row in the playoffs with MJ and Pip? That fact is the Bulls only became good after the great teams were old and injured, like the 91 Lakers without Kareem, Cooper, Worthy sprained ankle and Byron Scott injured shoulder.

    What a solid performance!
Bird waa solid in every aspect of the game.
It's too bad his career was cut short by serious back problems.
If Bird had had the physical conditioning of today's players and moreover if he could have played by today's rules with its emphasis on the 3 point shot he would have won several more titles and shattered scoring records.
As Bill Walton once said Bird "could do anything and everything by himself but was the ultimate team player."
BIrd was not like the ballhogs and showboaters of today's game and a strong argument can be made that he was the best all-around player of all time.

Bird was exceptional at knowing where the rebound was going to come off the rim.

@abdcc Bird made the players on his team Hall of Famers, you think Parish and DJ become HoFers without Bird? I agree Magic had one of the top 5 players ever on his team named Kareem. Larry Bird has never ever called Michael Jordan the greatest player ever, can you show me proof he said that? Bird also call Kareem, Moses, Magic, MJ the greatest he played against and I heard him call Shaq the geatest player in the country when Shaq was in college and MJ was pro, so Bird changes his mind a lot.

    @abdcc Larry was 6`9 1&2
Magic was really somewhere around 6`7 3/4 and 6`8 according to Olympic measurement

Is there anybody in today's game who plays as unselfishly as Larry Bird? If so I would watch cuz they know how to play. Also Josh's point, Larry Bird is Michael Jordan/God if God/Michael Jordan is nerfed with injuries. Do you think Jordan would be as good if he had Larry's list of ailments? The world may never know.

Name me one player from his entire career that he didn't embarrass? Name me one player that shut down Bird on a consistent basis?
You don't have to answer. Because I already know that there isn't one.
