The movie was filmed in Canada, and technically these are the type of french speaking fur trappers who were around the great plains at that time in American history.

Something I haven't heard anyone acknowledge yet is "kuhtaamia", the concept of hunting something that is entirely capable of hunting and killing you and the Comanche rite of passage that is kind of the whole point of this movie. It's stated a few times in the movie that this is Naru's kuhtaamia, but perhaps this also the predator version of the same concept. An untested young hunter, with a minimal set of weapons and foreknowledge, came here to test himself, and in the end he got his ass handed to him.
Brilliant! Plus he's a young predator that is yet to learn about fighting with honour..he doesn't fight fair when Taabe was going HAM on him.. plus also the concept of the whistling part to invoke an evil spirit as per the Comanche beliefs..was well laid in this film. But sad that this group's attention span was very little in this reaction.

To meet one of the strongest, earliest hunters and survivalist The Native American. I think it was an awesome story. Well done. I like the added cultural beliefs. Whistling at night is said to attract evil spirits. To see them do it in a movie is pretty cool.
Her throw success rate went up because of confidence of knowing she'll have more throws, not necessarily more throws. Her aim was already good as shown when she made an "X" on the tree.
The reason why she has great accuracy she's been training at a young age her mother tells her your father gave that to you to cut roots I think. Plus the Comanche were fierce with there weapons and knew how to use them so I can see her having good accuracy. There's a Comanche dub along with the English version I suggest checking that out.
46:00 Correct. The director has stated that this Predator a.k.a the Feral Predator looks so different from the other Predators we've seen in other films because he is from a different part of the hemisphere on the Predator's homeworld
WE FINALLY HAVE A GENUINELY AMAZING PREDATOR MOVIE SINCE THE FIRST ONE!!!! Don’t get me wrong, I really like Predator 2 and Predators, but this one doesn’t just beat them, it kills them, rips out their skulls and spines, and hangs them on its wall. Not only did it have intense action sequences, but both the director and writer managed to perfectly balance that tightrope of tension by both showing that this Predator is a truly terrifying and formidable threat while also not making him OP with his weaponry, thereby giving the people a fighting chance. On top of that I absolutely LOVED the portrayal of the Comanche Nation. Showing how they were and still are some of the best fighters, best horse riders and best hunters that have ever lived, while also showing how close knit of a community they are. I really loved how they went back and forth between English and Comanche when speaking with each other, next time I see this movie I’m watching the Comanche Cut where they speak Comanche throughout the whole movie. But my favorite part of this movie is seeing the story of Naru. She is honestly one of the most tenacious and badass characters I have seen in action or sci-fi movies in a long time. Amber Midthunder managed to be as much of a badass as freaking Arnold Schwarzenegger! And thank god they didn’t kill that adorable dog 🐕!
I think the Comanche was a great opponent for the Predator. They're very similar in their fighting and why they fight; to become warriors. But it wasn't until now that I paid attention to something they both do but for different reasons...cutting off the heads of their prey/opponents and bringing it back. The Predator takes the skull as trophies in almost an arrogant way; "look what I killed!" The Comanche brings it back the head in a more humble way; "look what I SURVIVED!" If you remember the mother telling Naru that the mission/hunt they go on to become warriors (I forgot the name of it), wasn't about the kill, but about SURVIVING. I think once she realized that, she started paying attention and learning about the Predator and how it hunted, therefore she was able to outsmart it.
No, the Comanche were horsemen on the plains of the U.S. This took place in wooded land. I loved the movie but would have preferred them depict her from a different tribe of Native Americans.
The Yautja take trophies to show the same thing, what they survived. They also do it for mating rights as the species' society is largely matriarchal. There is a faction that relishes only the kill but they are exceptions to the general social point of view.
@@brandonwilliams957 The range of Comanche territory was really huge, at times extending as far as Colorado and Wyoming, so woods and mountains are totally conceivable
From what I've heard this a younger and more inexperienced Predator out to prove himself and it shows in how arrogant he is. The Predator in the first movie was much more methodical, skilled and cunning because it was a much more experienced Predator. The Predator is the same as Naru; she's also inexperienced and out to prove herself and she's also learning the entire movie and using those lessons to achieve victory in the end.
Exactly. I love how they're foils to each other; two young members of their respective tribes out to prove their worth. The difference is that Naru showed more skill to be a great hunter, while the Predator was cocky from the beginning, and it leads to his doom.
YES! Exactly! A lot of people criticized this movie because Naru, being a female, outsmarted and killed a predator when in other films groups of trained men and even Arnold struggled. But that was only because those predators were far more experienced and technologically advanced. This was no doubt his first hunt, you could tell that purely based not only on his own technology but the fact that he actually let the wolf and bear do damage to him and he did not even fully understand his own weaponry which ended up causing his demise.
there are 2 biomes said to be on Yautja prime a Jungle type Biome where the jungle and city hunter came from and a desert type environment which is where the Feral predator was from. Despite the different environments both the Feral and City hunter are from the same clan

The reason her Bow did that when she was hunting the bear was because she got it wet, something she told her brother not to do when retrieving his fallen bird. Also technically it does fight fair, if it has fangs and claws it will only use that, if they have spears and arrows he will use spears and projectile arrows, if they have weapons and nets then he uses his weapons and his net. "Ghost" did the same thing in Predator 2 too one of the gang members in the penthouse. As he was shooting at nothing but the wall "ghost came up from behind and took him out with wristblades to the back.
Not all predators fight with honor or with a code this predator is most likely a young blood which is a predator that is still learning and trying to get a higher rank it also depends on the clan this predator is in because whatever code his clan follows he has to follow and I’m sure the predator only keeps attacking when cloaked because so far animals and people managed to hit it while it was cloaked so now he thinks it’s fair because everything else was able to hit it.
He's from the lost tribe the same clan as "Ghost" better known as the City Hunter in Predator 2 that pistol Naru used is the same one "Greyback" threw to Harrigan saying take it after he defeated "ghost" in the ship.
@@CDRhammond their not a part of the same clan because the predator in this movie is from a desert type of environment and it’s a subspecies which is why he looks like that and no other predator we’ve seen looks like that unless the clans just adopt other types of predators but I don’t see how they are from the same clan
The predator took out the bear without using any weapons btw. The crazy power needed to break a GIGANTIC enraged brown bear like that with a single punch.. wow
People like what they like, It's fine. But also, I feel like if any genre fans watched this and didn't enjoy it, they probs need to rethink and find another type of film to be into. For me this is everything we want from a genre film - a badass predator movie with a bunch of elevated stuff like the cinematography and performances. Home run.
So the whole thing about the Predator not really having honor in this movie, the artist that made this version of the Predator said it comes from a different hemisphere of their homeworld, so it's basically a desert Predator which explains why it looks so different and the usual honor code might not be a thing to them, compared to the Jungle Hunters and other Predators we see that inhabit the cities (AvP2). Could also explain the "primitive" weapons that it was using.
love this watch party, was great, would watch more of these...well done guys. I liked Prey also, i loved it. I like Native American stories, they were warriors.
The Predators have been coming for years, they know the "sign of the thunderbird" means one of them landed and will be hunting them. Its a story to them because of how spread out the timeline is, but they absolutely know about what it is.
I was waiting for this!!! Lol. Lets get technical. There are different classes and subclasses of Yautja/Predators. This is a feral predator. They preferred minimal weapons and tech, and often wanted hand to hand combat. I love how yall picked up on how they learn and their weapons evolved. Since it had a shield, a net, a mace with a sword, and bolt arrows instead of a plasma cannon, its safe to say that the species has been to earth before. Their weapons and tech evolved with when and where they hunted. This predator couldve also been a subclass called Young blood, untested, and possibly its first hunt. Hence why it was dropped off instead of landing on earth. In the comics a young blood was often observed by a Blooded Predator, or predator with experience. When the brother Tabai is yeeting the predator and it cloaks, he yells whats roughly translated into, "CHEATER!!!" I think when we hear Naru speak Comanche in the beginning and go into english is essentially assuming they are speaking Comanche and we can understand. Thats why we couldnt understand the trappers and only the interpretor. Lastly the credits isnt really hinting at a sequel. When a predator is bested or killed, the ancient or elder predators come down to exchange gifts, and pick up whatever remains of their fallen. So they probably gifted something, and got that pistol from Predator 2. They would also never come back to a hunting ground they "lost." Knowing there was a superior warrior or predator there.
Well for a start the predator has no name, that stuff from the comics is neither cannon or lore. The movies inspired the comics not the other way around. Jim and John Thomas who wrote predator have never given the species a name.
Also the AVP movies have absolutely nothing to do with the predator Franchise or the alien franchise. to hammer home the point, mr weyland is killed by the engineer, not the predator.
Joe big ass always leaning on someone, grabbing or just invading their space. I don't even know how y'all even know what happened in the movie with all the talking y'all were doing. I not mad I wasn't there!
Yea they do I saw in an interview that they do have a Comanche dubbed version. So theres choice for people who wanna watch it in Camanche with English subtitles or just watch it in English. This 'choice' is good because there are people who find it distracting to constantly have to read while watching a movie and then there are others who don't mind.
I also watched this movie in HULU....really awesome👍 this movie links with Naru holding the 1719 flintlock pistol which later in Predator 2 ending the Superior Predator gives it as a trophy to Lieutenant Mike
Actually stressed me out how all your complaints would have been addressed had you been paying attention to the movie and not shouted over it the whole time. This film actually takes its time setting up all the payoff you see in the end, but you guys probably walked away from this: - Thinking how illogical it was for her to survive, much less kill the Pred - Not liking this Pred for being "honorless" (WTF?) - Not even knowing the girl's name (it's Naru)
You guys are funny. Just because she missed the rabbit the one time, doesn't mean she misses them every time. You're making the wrong assumptions. If these people don't catch food, they don't eat. If you've ever been fishing, you'd know that sometimes the fish gets away. It doesn't make you a bad fisherman. So don't assume she's a Mary Sue. She knows how to hunt, and she's one of their best trackers.
Every time you hear English, imagine they are speaking Cherokee but the TV is translating for you. There is a Cherokee dub with English subtitles. I like how my man explained why someone would get better ath hatchet throwing just by retrieving it faster. Take 2 of the hoopers of skill level and same everything. Give 1 a ball retrieval net or a rebounder to constantly feed him shots. The second player has to get his own rebound. Obviously the 1st player is going to get in waaay more work in practicing their shooting. It's not that hard of a concept to think about and believe. He's from the lost tribe the same clan as "Ghost" better known as the City Hunter in Predator 2 that pistol Naru used is the same one "Greyback" threw to Harrigan saying take it after he defeated "ghost" in the ship.
Even the original Predator with Arnold, he would use the invisible feature when convenient. But both the original and this film are the best.
@@CDRhammond their not a part of the same clan because the predator in this movie is from a desert type of environment and it’s a subspecies which is why he looks like that and no other predator we’ve seen looks like that unless the clans just adopt other types of predators but I don’t see how they are from the same clan
Taabe, ( Dakota Beavers ), Naru's brother, first acting job and the dogs first acting job!
The predator took out the bear without using any weapons btw. The crazy power needed to break a GIGANTIC enraged brown bear like that with a single punch.. wow
My favorite predator movie is part 1 with Arnold (But Prey comes DAMN CLOSE behind it).
I totally agree with you
SAM IS THE ONLY ONE NOT RUNNING HIS MOUTH TRYING TO BE FUNNY
😂
😂😂.. well..yeah.. I'd be mad too if I'm trying to watch the film and the other person's attention span is below 50%..
This reaction was AWESOME guys haha. I enjoyed so much! haha. Would love to see more of this format bro...THANKS!
The Predators have been coming for years, they know the "sign of the thunderbird" means one of them landed and will be hunting them. Its a story to them because of how spread out the timeline is, but they absolutely know about what it is.
we always knew predators are strong but didnt know how strong. that bear fight showed us. he just shoulder pressed a 800 pound bear, no problem.
@@markwebster7435 not sure where AVP came into this? Lmao
lmao bruh you just made up like half of this
@@markwebster7435 literally an alien skull in predator 2 tho soooo
Congrats on everything y’all!! Cyber Nerds moving up!
Yooo Lmao first time seeing a reaction live with u guys and loved it!!! Movie was badass
@@TheCyberNerds Prey-this stupidly bribed zombified tolerance feminist propaganda machine "power" USA.
Best predator movie hands down I love arny but damn she played that role perfectly
Trivia: The name of her brother's horse is Choppa and there is a deleted scene where he says "Get to the Choppa" 😀😀😀😀😀
Was a pleasure to be in the building, had a fun evening!
Joe big ass always leaning on someone, grabbing or just invading their space. I don't even know how y'all even know what happened in the movie with all the talking y'all were doing. I not mad I wasn't there!
😂..
they have a version dubbed in Comanche-
Yea they do I saw in an interview that they do have a Comanche dubbed version. So theres choice for people who wanna watch it in Camanche with English subtitles or just watch it in English. This 'choice' is good because there are people who find it distracting to constantly have to read while watching a movie and then there are others who don't mind.
This live reaction brought me so much joy. and 40:17 was TOO peak
I also watched this movie in HULU....really awesome👍 this movie links with Naru holding the 1719 flintlock pistol which later in Predator 2 ending the Superior Predator gives it as a trophy to Lieutenant Mike
I love the fact that the whole cast is Native American and not people pretending to be my favorite predator movie for sure
Actually stressed me out how all your complaints would have been addressed had you been paying attention to the movie and not shouted over it the whole time. This film actually takes its time setting up all the payoff you see in the end, but you guys probably walked away from this:
- Thinking how illogical it was for her to survive, much less kill the Pred
- Not liking this Pred for being "honorless" (WTF?)
- Not even knowing the girl's name (it's Naru)
You guys are funny. Just because she missed the rabbit the one time, doesn't mean she misses them every time. You're making the wrong assumptions.
If these people don't catch food, they don't eat.
If you've ever been fishing, you'd know that sometimes the fish gets away. It doesn't make you a bad fisherman.
So don't assume she's a Mary Sue. She knows how to hunt, and she's one of their best trackers.
Every time you hear English, imagine they are speaking Cherokee but the TV is translating for you.
There is a Cherokee dub with English subtitles. Jim Beavers, the actor who played Naru's brother, was asked why they didn't record the movie in Cherokee and do an English dub. Beavers said, "None of us are that fluent."
Predator threw the "Hayemaker" in the fight with the bear!😂
The Cyber Nerds
Congratulations!!! Seriously Respect! I'm happy that I've been rocking with you guys from the beginning, and to see you here is major! Keep flying, keep soaring, "keep living it up."
Jei: I’m so happy 🥹
Me: wait til he sees the colonizer fight 😎🔥
@@TheCyberNerds yeah, I was so happy when Jei said he wanted to see the Pred come in and John Wick all the colonizers ... I was like, ask and you shall get
ENERGY IS CRAZY ON THIS ONE!
The 'lion' was a mountain lion aka cougar.
9:13 I know it's supposed to be a compliment but calling her a savage lmaoooo
I love the attitude towards the "colonizers". I'm Native American. I share that same attitude 🤣Most satisfying deaths in the movie. lol.
Just so you guys know they did a version with the native language dub.
They released a version like that.
They were both options out the gate dude lol just because you didn’t look and clicked the first thing you seen don’t try and blame it on them.
Great film !
She was a good aim from the beginning, shut up and pay attention more, and subtitles/comanche language are an option.
Bro in the middle is by far the loudest and most annoying, yet he keeps trying to tell everyone else to chill out, He keeps yelling random dumb shit out of nowhere, then as soon as one of them try to respond to the his loud ass outburst, he cuts them off mid sentence by telling them to chill, or calm down, or saying that they need to start paying attention. His ego won't get allow him to come to the understanding that the world don't revolve around him. I wouldn't be able to watch a movie with him
No lie that bear was holding his own against the predator Baloo wasn’t playing games
Exelente BROTHERS..saludos desde Argentina
Great reaction! if you notice in the drawing at the end, 3 predator ships appear in the sky. The dog was a rescue from a shelter in Rome Ga.!
The Dog is Naru's Cheat code
She straight up John Wick'd those trappers
THE WHOLE TREE!!! 🤣🤣
There is a Comanche dub which is their native language. I do wish it was filmed all in Comanche though. The director pitched it to be all in Comanche, but the studio said no.
47:10 🤣🤣🤣😭😭 " pause "
😂😂😂
@@Aragonsdick 🤣😅
You can watch the movie in Comanche with English subtitles. You right, it is a better experience.
35:28 Directors say they speak in their native tongue they just make it English for the viewer experience it's a common trick they use
Shields throughout history have been used both as defensive as well as offensive weapons
9:14 "She's a savage"
Me: 😂😅
🤣
The predator didn’t kill naru when she was in the bear trap because predators don’t kill unless there is some sport in it
1. Predator 1987
2. Predator 2
3. Prey
4. Predators
5. The Predator
6. Alien vs Predator
7. Alien vs Predator: Requiem
Good film this
Great movie, glad y'all enjoy it as much as I did.
Why have no reactors mentioned the pressurised Alien blood tech to strip the heads for trophies!? Definitely a big brain easter egg!
They do have the movie released in Comanche so there is subtitles
46:35 surely u would see the bows that as in his body when he goes invisible
Oh I been waiting for dis one fam!! 👈👈
I guess ya’ll haven’t heard that there’s a Comanche version of the movie, fully subtitled and all?
I think the thing that bothered me, was that an entire hunting party was wiped out, and nobody sang for them. But, then this is a different people than mine.
Is it impossible for it to have happened off-screen?
@@Don-fw3nv according to booki… yup apparently
This live reaction was really good. U guys are just expanding the creativity of ur channel (growing as a channel). This is good
DId you lot get the Raphael Adolini 1715 gun scene?
54:09 I'm native American and i approve
Film was mad good
I wouldn’t mind if they did something similar to assassins creed where they have the predator in different time periods
are you guys leaving all marvel reactions on your patreon?
water messed up stealth only when stealth control device got wet if that doesn't get wet its OK
Hi, bros. This big cat not lion or jaguar, its puma)
That predator is the same species that the tribal predators were on that planet with fishburne.
Notice the large head design.
You do realise that she also had a bow. there is nothing to suggest she killed the rabbits with the axe. Also if you had clicked on the extras there is a version of this in Comanche with english subtitles
your audio is pretty jacked; might want to see to that.
43:47 lol he had to point at the ine person that laughed at his joke ...yall are some bums
how jealous I am....????????Im biting my mouse right now.!!!!.....
in predator vision the wolf looked like giant rat lol
I like how my man explained why someone would get better ath hatchet throwing just by retrieving it faster. Take 2 of the hoopers of skill level and same everything. Give 1 a ball retrieval net or a rebounder to constantly feed him shots. The second player has to get his own rebound. Obviously the 1st player is going to get in waaay more work in practicing their shooting. It's not that hard of a concept to think about and believe. Also yea, we only have this movie to see the improvment lol come on maaan.
Who are the people in the back?
Was never a war, an invasion
I know this is a reaction channel and talking is point, but there is no fucking way I could ever watch a movie like this with a bunch of dudes talking over it, especially if I hadn't seen it, because I'd lose my fucking mind.
