    Would love to see more of these its so hard to find good horror tutorials. Would be cool do a animation scene where a zombie grabs you spins you around and you die like a mini cutscene or have like a animation push you out of or off of something.

    Now i have two models when the jumpscare happens. The first one with the back turned doesnt disappear, how do i remove that model so only the jumpscare one appears ?

      Are both models merged together? In that case you would need to separate them in Blender

      @@GorkaGames Quick additional question for you, could you make this attached to a character (NPC) so it could path around the room and get you instead of in the world BP?

      @@Tueborgame Do you mean an AI? Because right now the jumpscare is attached to the player and it will always appear in front of the camera in whatever place you are in the world

      yeah you can just do the reverse of what I did after a few seconds. For example disable the panel, re-enable de input controls, etc

    If the player is facing a wall when walking into the trigger wouldn't the jumpscare be shown behind that wall, meaning the player couldn't see it?

      A few line traces going around the character to make sure there is a certain amount of space away from a possible wall/obstruction and then either rotating or moving the player character away from these could be a potential fix but still messy in very tight spaces

      Yep, good one, if the player is infront of any opaque model the jumpscare will not be very visible. Yeah with a line trace in front of the camera checking that there is not any collision and then turing the player if so would do the trick. I also do recommend instead of doing that changing the rendering layer on the jumpscare model, so it will always render on top.

      if you mean the widget that I add at the end, just go into its graph, and on event construct, access the player controller, and set the mouse visible to true

    there is no Cast to bp_firstpersoncharacter i cant find it

      you will need to cast to whatever you player character is. If its a third person game initially it may be BP_Thirdperson instead

      I know this is a couple months later but I figured out how to do it. When you place do your player start, grab it from the menu on the left and drag it into the blueprint. Then you are going to make a node called cast to player start, then you plug in the player start you dragged into object, and the rest just follow the video.
