  • This is a project at my fathers company built back in the 80s I’m very proud to be able to remodel this job. We went back with the new Thru-flow synthetic decking. This will allow the storm surge to pass up to the decking without tearing the framing apart!

I love going back to old project's see how they are holding up. But after a few grey hairs sometimes you don't remember working on one and an old hand say's we were here in the 90's then i start remembering the job.

This looks like such a fun job to me. Love the videos!
I'm planning on doing this type of project myself (since you're not in NC!). My dock deck is pretty worn out. The joists are also all split down the middle so the deck boards (which are nailed) are no longer secured well. Every flood lifts off a few more.
It looks like I just run a string from one end to the other to establish a level, add the cross members, joists, then decking. Now I'm thinking it would be nice to have a step down like this one...
I'm learning a lot. Thanks for taking the time to make these.

Dale I know your machine speeds up driving in posts. After you get caught up on your work, I'd love to see a detailed video on how to wash a post in the old fashion way. Such as what equipment is required, what type of pump is used, how much pressure is needed. how to make a home made tool to get the post in, how long should the tool be to wash a typical post in.

When will you be working in Innerarity area? My permit is expected the first week of next month. Been waiting on permit since last August.

I’ll check with the office as far as scheduling when we’re gonna be out in Innerarity area in my GM informed me Allen’s crew will be there in late May. Truly hard to get a definite schedule with the weather situation and customers adding on or additional issues we have to adddress when we start repair jobs. Thank you for your patience and opportunity to do this job for you. 👍
