One of a kind you won’t find another luthier like him he is who he is and I dig the hell out of that
Wayne is on the nicest guys I have EVER met! Very gentle and glad to answer silly questions. I am very fortunate to get to know Wayne and many other music and bluegrass folks in the mountains of VA and NC.
Great guitars but what's even better is that this is the kind of person that I would like to be friends with. Great guy.
Amazing talent, both playing and building instruments, and so modest ,an all round nice guy, thank you , from Scotland, true country gentleman
A very humble man and great craftsman, and a fabulous picker, too
Wayne is a Character but in all honesty a genuine nice man. A true craftsman and a good story teller.
Had the pleasure of meeting Wayne and Jeff Little at an event a few weeks back, both are true gentlemen, and very down to earth. OH, and they can play!
Truly legendary. And truly great sounding guitars.
They are beautiful
Wayne is just ONE COOL GUY !!!
Magic.......what a beautiful instrument......thanks
Love to here u play ,sounds great.
I do wonder who gave this video a thumbs-down. A Techno freak?
Wayne is the BEST
👍 Right!!
Pure genius.
Great - Wayne Henderson is an amazing man! I've been reading "Clapton's Guitar" fascinating book. Thanks for posting this.
That mandolin sounded beautiful
All this, AND he's a REd Sox fan. It doesn't get much better in my eyes!
Do you play mandolin? Yeah.....I lay a little bit. Humility of the Masters
Bravo!
great video and interview with a true master . . . . I'm hoping to get my L00 this Christmas
Cool video and guitars!
Oh! And this guy comes out with "make me a pallet" awesome!
Great video!
He is a gentleman and a luthier's luthier. And man can he play!! Thanks for the video and the insight offered. Enjoyable. By the way the last tune was Freight Train by Elizabeth Cotton. Not Wheels.
Got to love a mandolin that is finger picked by a master.
Counting down the days until I get my Henderson D-28!! So soon.... it's only been about seven years......
superb
WOW !
Redd just turned me onto these...I need to get one!!!!
OMG Wayne is a Master
WOW! What a beautiful guitar at 9:24 Sounds nice too!! What I'd give to be able to play guitar
Wayne opened the video with a bit of Wheels on the guitar. Wow.
I would love to see a video on how she makes the pick guards. Has the lady ever made one?
I will play a Henderson one day. I will tell you guys what, Brian Galloup out of here in Michigan is a good given talent at making guitars as well. I consider myself blessed to have picked on a galloup
I guess all the guys about his age from the mountains play Freight Train (closing tune). I've heard my dad play that a thousand times... Wish I'd learnes to play it.
Epic
2:44 "I can play a little bit," there's no need to be quite so modest dude, I would get pelted with beer bottles and dead cats if I said I played guitar .. when I hear someone talk like that I like to recognize a kindred spirit.
Then when he plays like you do I have to go back to feelin' like lonely loser again .. I go on pokin', plinketty plinkin' and proddin' away just the same but I will never be any good :) gruesome innit, cheers.
cool
How do I go about getting one of these fine instruments?
Amazing video. I loved it. How much would it cost to for a guitar like that one he was playing? The last guitar he played in the video. Where in VA is his shop located? Great video thanks for sharing.
I think $25,000+, but might be off by a lot now!
JoshLovesIt it's a beautiful great sounding guitar. But no way I'd pay that. A Martin D-45 list for less than ten thousand dollars. They always go up in value.
I think if you go to a shop they range from 3 to five grand. But if you go to a dealer that baught them off him. They are about $25,000.
Tune is "wheels"
hello from randolph guitar welch oklahoma
I wish he made me a guitar
First time I ever saw someone finger pick a mandolin.
Anyone know what tune that is that he's playing? It's great!
acefrehley19731973 ...........................WHEELS !
Mandolin with finger picks? How cool is that?
what a fucking legend
Cool vids channel
Is someone covered in sawdust also a legend? Because I'm covered in it as I type!
How does someone contact Wayne? Current no. is not working.
+shecky308 I'm afraid you'd have to drive to his workshop or contact his daughter if you're interested in one of her guitars/ukes (he usually helps on them). Check my blog post.
Thanks partner.!got number for daughter??
+shecky308 I do, but I don't give it out. This is the only other way to contact her: theluthiersapprentice.blogspot.com/
But I wouldn't bother them unless it's about buying an instrument. They get a lot of people wanting to chat.
He needs dust collection in his shop.
haha - "yeah I can play a little bit". yup.
Wayne,contact info???¿
nice video..What would be the cost to build a mandolin, in ""ready to play condition like the one @300 minutes.mmmm
If ya gotta ask...in all seriousness
the waiting list is as long as I am tall
how does someone talk to Wayne???????
In English :) And best to just hope you can catch him in his shop.
whiskey before breakfast
Love him----but the background talking! Aaaaaaaa!
argh
That's all cool... but can he play smoke on the water??!
George Eliopoulos B-)
Never Mind Says the guy with the stale ass meme for a profile photo.
Hope you're joking. I also build guitars. And I can play smoke on the water (Beginners Song) and even live in Switzerland where the song was written..... And Wayne Henderson is like a God to me as Clapton to others... Cheers, Victor
that looks like a boston red socks B on the side his hat, i can only assume he is of the true nation
I am absolutely torrified to build my own guitars. It would probably come out half baked Get it... tee hee.
Stick the mean youngin' in the closet. I can't compete with that in an interview!!!
