- Autumn Falls in West Edinburgh, Scotland 2020. A little bit of Autumn love from Scotland - shot over the last couple of weeks, around rural West Edinburgh, where I live. I hope you find it as calming and soothing as I did filming it. Best watched with a cup of tea and some headphones :-)
As autumn develops in Edinburgh, I hope to be able to film more of the amazing colours and publish a part two. A huge thanks to everyone who's subscribed. Life has been a huge challenge recently and UA-cam has been a wonderful source of comfort and inspiration to me to keep going. Another beautiful video David. So many lovely images of things in nature that we might not notice or take for granted. It’s really nice to switch off and lose myself in the images of nature you capture in your films. Thanks and keep on giving us

My youtube statistics show that people are switching off from the channel and I don't blame them, as films of my local woodland aren't very exciting, so I'm going to take a break to think what else I can do. Thanks Philby, I deeply appreciate your support. I have to be honest that it's been a really tough couple of weeks and making this film has really kept me going. I'm trying to stick to making the films that really mean something to me and not getting swayed by the UA-cam game of only making things that are popular and feed the alogorithm. I want to show what Scotland means to me personally and to stay true to myself, even if that means my channel stays small. Really glad you liked the music and I do hope that you can visit us soon. I really miss doing my tours and it's getting harder with every passing month. I was in Princes Street today and there was hardly anyone there and it does feel a little sad. Here's hoping that by next Spring the city will get it's mojo and buzz back. Hope you have a great weekend. Best wishes, David

Hi David, loved the video, very relaxing, just what was needed after a stressful week at work. I always love this time of year, I was hoping to get up to Pitlochry as that is always stunning at this time, but that pesky virus has halted that for the moment. Could I ask where the boardwalk was right at the start of the video...stay safe...
Hi Martyn, so glad you found this relaxing. I really enjoyed making it. Nature always lifts my spirits and we're so lucky in Scotland to have so much of it on our doorstep :-) The board walk is at The Red Moss Nature Reserve at Balerno. It's run by the Scottish Wildlife Trust and is well worth a visit, especially when the heather is in full bloom. You can combine it with the lovely walk around Threipmuir and Harlaw Reservoirs. Hope you can make it up to Pitlochry soon. I share your pain. There are so many places I had on my list to visit this year, but we'll get there eventually. I'm just finishing off a new video to one of my favourite places in The Borders which I'll try and publish in a few days. Thanks again for all your support, best wishes, David

Autumn is truly my favourite time of year, and you’ve managed to capture the reason why so brilliantly on film! Our trees are turning and the crispness of the air is just perfect! I especially loved the shot of the leaf just beneath water, there was something so right about it.

Hi Madalina, so glad you enjoyed this one too. I sometimes worry that by making films of places off the beaten track that they won't be popular, but I'm going to keep doing what I believe in and just be true to myself. It was so nice to film and I'm really glad you liked the music. I love to be able to support up and coming young musicians, especially at this time when the livelihoods of so many talented musicians and artists are under so much threat. I think the wee bird you're referring to is a Wood Pigeon. He was sitting quietly on a fir tree next to the canal as I went past and I couldn't resist giving him a starring role! @@DavidWheaterScotland Perhaps your videos do not go with the UA-cam trend (as you mentioned) but let me tell you how I discovered your channel and your videos. I was looking for videos from the Fringe Festival and yours was by far the best I could find. You do not just capture images but emotions, and your video helped me remember how I felt being there because I am like this too, I am always searching for the hidden places, details ;) When I am taking a walk I do exactly what you do in your videos and now because we are not allowed to travell your videos help me see wonderful places. I am sorry that you are not feeling so well. Be blessed for the joy you bring in others.
