Pokemon 151 is arguably the most hyped and in demand Pokemon TCG Set that has been released in the Scarlet & Violet Generation. Releasing only 1 year ago, Pokemon 151 sent frustration through the Pokemon Card community with prices starting out at over double MSRP prior to release. Without a promised reprint, Pokemon 151 continued gaining steam and soon rose to over $200 per booster box.
The release of Scarlet and Violet 151 in English slowed things down somewhat, but with the Masterball Reverse Holo that was guaranteed in every box of Pokemon 151, many Pokemon Card collectors preferred the chase of the Japanese Set as opposed to it's English equivalent.
Finally, Pokemon 151 received reprints which really caused a huge shift in the market. Thanks to tons of additional supply hitting the Pokemon market, Pokemon 151 has shrunk down to levels of near MSRP for a booster box. That master ball gimmick is brilliant
English 151 was pretty mean to me, glad JP 151 is affordable right now. So far it's been a lot more fun to open and I'm loving the pokeball/masterball reverses!
Same, except from the quality on the pokeball reverse cards. They are full of horrible print lines- at least mine are..
This reprint was a huge W for everyone. The set is so good, people can't resist ripping it. At the same time, because it's so good, even those who have them diamond hands and tuck their boxes away will still make out over time. I have a feeling those keeping this sealed won't have to wait too long before seeing gains. This Japanese set is just that good. The OG 151 combined with beautiful chase cards and that master ball chase makes this one of the greatest sets released to date.

You can also buy 10 packs at retail cost from Pokemon Center Japan if you set up a proxy. It's worth it, especially if you enjoy Japanese playmats, deck boxes and sleeves. I believe every week or two you can buy another set of 10 packs as well.

They should go back to the set stamps but make it a rare pull. IE you have a normal reverse in English and a more rare reverse with the set stamp. Team rocket returns had such a cool reverse holographic

I really don't understand why TPCI felt the need to change it for the English version. They're both interchangeable and work either way.

I’m still surprised Mewtwo wasn’t an EX in 151 set. Also, a reprint of the Dragonite IR from whatever other set that was in, where he’s floating in the clouds, would’ve been nice in 151.
Do you mean Evo Skies? I initially thought the same about Gengar but on reflection I think it was a good call to highlight some lesser featured pokemon. Poliwhirl and Dragonair in particular were inspired AR cards
Nah, one of the special things about 151 was that it was all new art. I will agree with Dragonite deserving an sir in the set though.
I agree. Reprints diminish the rarity and value of the original. Which in this case comes from Evolving Skies. I agree though that it's a great card. It will be the first single I ever buy because I wasn't able to pull it myself but I want it that much. Until now I just accept what I get and move on to the next set but everytime I see this card I tell myself I gotta buy myself one of those.

Excellent news, they can print more and more. I have a feeling we're gnna get some swsh reprints too at some point if they take the same route as Japan, wouldn't surprise me in the slightest, this is why you don't put all your eggs into one basket. Can't wait to finish my jpn masterset!

The 151 was my favorite set in the last two years. Japanese version in particular.
I picked up a couple of boxes when it went below 100 bucks because I wasn't sure how much lower it would go before being bought up. It's nice to see it continue to go down so I am going to pick up a few more. Cool set to open.
Getting these at 45 each with shrink wrap is amazing, getting another 100 this week.

They need to keep reprinting it. It's the best set in awhile. Also they need to slow down on the amount of releases of new sets it make collecting to hard.
151 and Crown Zenith/VSTAR universe two KILLER sets, I cannot get enough of them both!

I still want there to be a 151 English reprint it needs to happen. It’s a Super popular set.
I had a feeling that 2nd reprint was gonna crush these prices. I'm 6 boxes in at $80 each. I'm all hands off until prices can stabilise for 6+ months. Glad i didn't buy a case at $1k like i was planning. A second reprint didnt even cross my mind. Definitely a lesson for modern investing though.

@jason113388 not those that bought a bunch at $200 a box haha. or even $150 a box as it was $150-200 for about a year so those that bought up cases of it aren't having a good time.
But I'm a true believer in 151 both English and Japanese so I feel like all this reprint did is make it way more affordable in the immediate time and the investors especially early investors just got to wait longer as eventually it will go up. Might take 5 years longer than it originally would have but it will be fine. Too good of a set it will be just fine
14:11 yeah the average is tricky to work with; i’d be cautious conflating pull rates for SRs and SARs, as they’re likely different. Seems more likely to pull SR than SAR but yall correct me if i’m wrong

That’s the million dollar question. We have all heard and seen the problems Japanese product has with tampering and resealing. Now I hear people saying buy it here or buy it there it’s all good no problem. It’s not shrink wrapped, but don’t worry about that?! For me it has to be a US based seller. Reprint is coming out in waves I’m going to be patient here and watch a couple trusted US sellers and see how low it gets.

@@andyhale3467 if you're looking to buy in bulk, SNKRDUNK is the way to go. Cheapest price per box on the market and has an authentication process. Shipping from japan is surprisingly fast to US, took only a week for 20 boxes, ive gotten 80 in total.

My definition of a master set is the most expensive version of each card
my defination of an master set is having all versions of said card. so with the japanese version that would mean all masterball revereses all normal reverses and all standard cards and hits in the set

Cards are stunning quality and even the Commons hold great value. Very nice to have at least one or a few Japanese sets ❤🎉

I bought a pack from my LGS and got a Vaporeon masterball reverse. I only collect English, but a pretty cool pull.

It was also kind of a slap in the face for them to do the master balls for the Korean release. English is by far their biggest market yet English gets shafted in so many ways.

The Japanese bubble has burst, I wanted people over on Reddit months ago. 151 is a set still in print, when I see booster bundles going for £45 I think it's ludicrous. I'm a player/collector/investor. This is a good set but it's going to see reprints. Don't go daft on it. Crown Zenith on the other hand...

Paldea Evolved is my favorite main set fot SV but 151 hooooo weeee. I opened so much of it and it was good to me. I'm so happy english version did not have the masterballs. The master set would be ridiculous, eff that!

A master set imo is incomplete unless you add the non holo rares from the build and battle decks. Your Master sets are imo incomplete
I hope they don't reprint English 151 I'd prefer it be more scarce, not because I dont want people to have it, but because I want it to be more significant and meaningful of a set.

It wont make it more significant and meaningful, all it'll do is shot up the prices like SM Team Up. Pokémon will reprint it because of how popular it is as it makes them more money, they wont care about the meaningfulness of it. 151 in Europe is immensely scarce already even though it's a SV set, especially at MSRP. 151 is and will be significant and meaningful regardless of the amount of product

The reprint coupled with the fact that the economy just started to crash, and will crash as hard as 2008 or worse isn't good for 151 booster boxes. Most English product will crash here shortly too.

They say seem to be all if only to get what was of it to have been alot back when they were
I bought 5 boxes for 70 a piece, opened them all. Got triple Jinx, Snorlax, Psyduck illustration rares right now. Also just average master balls so 15-20 a piece top.
Which means from the 350 spent the MB are worth 100 total and the illustration rares say 50 which makes my fun cost 200 for 100 packs.
2 dollar per booster pack I can live with It. I like the Pikachu 173/151 the best with so many other pokemon as a cameo. Still on the look out for the special illustration rare Charizard, Mew, Venusaur, Blastoise. Did get the Batman Mewtwo. In English 151 a promo in Japanese 151 part of the regular packs so that is a nice catch!
