I don’t know if I’ve seen this in the game but one thing Austria had, historically, was Austrian Mass formation. Developed by Archduke Charles, it allowed units to form “square” but move and operate as though they were in line. Essentially the rear rank would just about face and the infantry would be clumped up as if in square. Used throughout the 1809 campaign. I haven’t seen it in the game but I think that would really change things for Austria if it was added.
1809 saw the first battle where French troops fled the field with Napoleon present. Aspen-Essling.

Those last couple units of Austrian soldiers making their last stand reminds me of the last part of the Alamo battle from the 2004 movie The Alamo.
David Crockett and a handful of men retreated into a build or something and made their last stand before being overwhelmed by the Mexican army.

Yo been a subscriber since the empire days but this is my first time commenting. I was feeling a bit nostalgic today and thought of the old total wars, naturally I wondered how was ol' Pixie Pooh doing. And here you are still making amazing content of the game series we both fell in love and out of love with. I really liked the army breakdown at the start of the video! I was already a big fan of these battle replays (i watch them whenever i'm not messing around on the mod myself) and i thought it added a lot! nice choice!

It's a 4 vs 4 online battle, each corps is commanded by one player.
Yeah you basically control a whole army, not individual people. You click and tell each unit where to go and who to attack
Sounds dope thanks for the explanation, what happens if the player dies while leading his troops? Can he die? Can he attack and fight as well?
@@PHXKILLZ602 You can't die, you have a general you command who can die and if he does your army loses morale, but "you" aren't physically on the battlefield. You're like a helicopter hovering over everything

These battles are boring to watch imo. The first two Austrian corp seemed incompetent but the worst part was watching the boring French. Charge charge charge. It’s NTW3 not MTW.
