My brother bumped into him in Belfast. Busking on the street. That's what makes Glen so cool : he fills giant concert halls, won an Oscar, but he just keeps playing for the smallest audiences as well. What a most charming man. Saw him live and I still get goosebumps hearing some (if not all) of his music !
honestly probably the best concert i ever went to was Glenn playing in Brisbane a couple of years back... I would book tickets to his show in a flash if he came back! I'd probably make sure i went more than once too. Amazingly talented!

Glen is one of the last live concerts I heard before ‘the world closed’ - I’ll always remember someone at that show saying “he sings like his life depends on it” - 10000% energy, sincerity, and love for connecting with people. I hope I can at some point in my life emulate some part of Glen’s care for others. Thank you Mr Hansard

I was on stage with him, about 1,5 meters away from him performing as he invited us to and upon the stage because he couldn’t see us at all and wanted to connect. I literally FELT him sing as it resonated in my chest from such a close distance. Needless to say those two hours were probably the most wonderful and intimate I have ever experienced during a concert. It was absolutely magnificent.

I got to meet Glen about 2 or 3 years ago here in Dublin. I was shopping for a computer with my brother in PC World when I look over to the other isle and saw Glen Hansard with I presume his young boys. Wasn't too sure if I should approach his because of his kids but he was an absolute gentlemen. Talked to him about the great charity work he does for the homeless in Ireland. Not everyday you meet an academy award winning singer in PC World!
In 2004, I stood next to Mick Jagger inside the Sistine Chapel. He was with what appeared to be his wife and 2 small kids (or grandkids). I didn't have the heart to approach him. The solemnity of the building and because he was "off of work," I chickened out. I regret not speaking to him, but I am sure I made the right decision. Stars like him have to have it rough being just normal gents.

I got to meet Glen about 2 or 3 years ago here in Dublin. I was shopping for a computer with my brother in PC World when I look over to the other isle and saw Glen Hansard with I presume his young boys. Wasn't too sure if I should approach his because of his kids but he was an absolute gentlemen. Talked to him about the great charity work he does for the homeless in Ireland. Not everyday you meet an academy award winning singer in PC World!
In 2004, I stood next to Mick Jagger inside the Sistine Chapel. He was with what appeared to be his wife and 2 small kids (or grandkids). I didn't have the heart to approach him. The solemnity of the building and because he was "off of work," I chickened out. I regret not speaking to him, but I am sure I made the right decision. Stars like him have to have it rough being just normal gents.
