Who's the best Group of 5 team heading into 2024?
Boise state no questions asked. Got a great new HC, 5 star quarterback, best running back, punter, in the nation and their kicker has the potential to break ncaa records next year with most field goals scored and best field goal percentage. Just signed a good wide receiver, the offense is looking stacked next year. If they fill in holes in the defense they are gonna be a force next year, I bet they gonna be the G5 auto bid in the playoffs next season

Memphis
ECU is returning 7 starters on a top 40 defense. Hired New OC from Old Miss, transfer 4 star QB’s from Mich St. and Missouri. Plus a Rb from Penn State, DL from Ohio State, DE from Louisville and another 10 players from P4 schools. ECU has been a D1 program since 1978. They should absolutely be in your top 25.

So with nelson at boise and salter back at liberty and Memphis adding mario anderson from south Carolina, elijah Herring leading tackle at UT, Kobee minor from Indiana safety with B1G honorable mention and flipping chris adams from Washington flipping Jacoby banks from Houston and getting reggie grimes from OU Which started 10 games. Hes got cormantae Hamilton on the other edge. Chandler Martin and herring at linebacker with tahj ray el. Martin Hankins will improve the defense. We got ohio bobcats DC coaching our DL.

Should be the favorite in the AAC. offense has plenty of weapons to be one of the best in the country

I guess you're predicting a really strong year for the MWC with 9 in total ranked in top 25. 3 in the top 10 and 7 in the top 20.
Strongest conferences (this ranking):
MWC: 9 teams in top 25. 9 in top 25, 7 in top 20 and 3 in top 10.
Sun Belt: 8 in top 25, 5 in top 20, 1 in top 10.
AAC: 4 in top 25 4 in top 20, 3 in top 10 and 2 in top 5.
CUSA: 2 in top 25 with two in top 5.
MAC: 2 in top 25. 1 in top 10 and another in top 20.
The only real issue I have with this rankings is the lack of consideration given to the teams' schedule in 2024.
Assuming the number one team is your prediction for the G5 representative to the playoffs.
As an example:
I don't think Memphis will make it. Their schedule: @ Florida State in non-conference and @ Tulane, @ South Florida and UTSA. That's a pretty tough schedule.
Same thing with Boise State: Oregon in non-conference, @ Georgia Southern, OSU and WSU (both at home). Great schedule, but not sure they'll finish with 10+ wins at end of season.
Both these team will have to stay at 11-1 or 12-0 to be considered for the playoffs, I just don't see it.
Schedules will be considered closer to the season when rosters are more solidified.
And yes the AAC to me is losing quality depth. Mountain West and Sun Belt are strong in that department
