You and me both brother. The wife and i fully cry when our twin boys go 1st and 2nd in the 50cc beginner class. Watching them fabricate things so well 400,000+ people watch them do it, oh man.
To the mans Richard, thank you for supporting Chris in this MASSIVE way. This will exponentially help him with his creations! Plus it gives us entertainment. Also, your Dad is amazing. Thats a lotta love bruv.
A huge "THANK YOU" to Richard for helping Chris and a Huge amount of RESPECT to Chris's father who loves and supports him and i look forward to watching this channel grow and seeing the new and inventive ways this channel will grow!!
12 grand! Holy crap I knew they were expensive but jeez. Not to mention all the materials and everything else Richard gave him. That makes me happy to see someone do something so incredibly nice. I can't wait to see what Chris makes with these amazing tools. We've seen what he does on his homemade lathe so imagine these ones. And I never knew he made his other lathe from scratch. Chris is a genius!
A metalworking lathe isn't something you just 'give away'. They cost a fortune, and for some stranger to gift you not only one, but two? Thank you, Richard
I had to look it up, I found one just like that big Victor 1440G in NJ for almost $12k!!! Considering the cost of all that round stock, the drill press, second lathe, and all the other stuff, this has got to be worth upwards of $20k.
big thanks from a german fan to richard, it is always a little sad when one craftsman ends his career but richard knew his tools are in good hands, greetings
Looking at the plot his house is on I’d say he would have more chance renting a workshop or buying land to build on. I doubt the homeowners around him would be too pleased with a big/bigger workshop going up on the street
Incredible that Richard just straight up gave you $10s of thousands worth of equipment and stock for free! Thats incredibly generous, and I am sure he knew it would go to someone who would make thorough use of it. Shout out to Richard and also to your dad! Your dad is right to be proud and although it might make you cringe, you gotta let him be proud - plus its literally resulted in you getting some incredible equipment for free. Looking forward to seeing you get your own shop and get everything set up and the crazy things you'll be able to build. Exciting times!
Wow.... I think... When I realize I'm getting too old to keep this stuff up I'll be doing the same thing... These machines will last for generations if they're cared for by those of us that love them. Just remember to pay it forward, young one...
Chris , you are truly blessed . You have done tremendous work with your homemade lathe. I can just imagine what you can accomplish with your gift . God bless Richard , he saw your talent and decided that you were the one that deserved to continue his dreams .Life changes like that aren't very easy .Now your second channel can be called, "rather B machining "
As a father myself, I love to have good things that I can say about my daughter. Don't cringe about it, and let your dad feel proud of you, which he certainly is entitled to. You will understand if and when you become a dad yourself. Plus, that pride seems to have gotten you two perfectly good lathes! ;) Keep up the good work!
I love peoples generosity it never ceases to amaze me The lathes and drill press ate wonderful...keep the wicked vids coming. Cant wait for them....john....Australia...
I would recommend putting a sheet of foam or felt between the shelf and wall to help with rattling. You could also turn it into a box with sound proofing if it's annoying you.
That’s incredible Chris, your dads so proud of you and definitely likes to see your success on this channel and Richard obviously sees a lot of potential in you too my friend. Absolutely awesome mate.
What a great addition he gave you! Good things come to those who deserve them and you definitely do. Congratulations on your additional equipment. I know you will put them to good use!
Dude be happy your dad tells people about what you do for a living. Clearly he is proud of you and your accomplishments. Most don't get that from their dads. Live it up and give him thanks. Props to Richard for being kind enough to give it to you for free!! Even on resale I see that stuff $700+. You do amazing work and can't wait to see what you make with better equipment!
Thank you Richard, you went above and beyond in supporting this young mans future! You have a very proud dad let him be proud we never have them long enough.
This so cool. Thank you Richard for helping or friend at rather be welding with some awesome tools. Your dad is so proud of you he has to tell people about what you do.
You dad is proud to be your dad, thats a nice thing to have, I wouldn't say it cringe if anything its a good thing to have and more people wil watch your videos, he's proud to talk about u, alot of people would love to have a dad like yours 👌👌👌👌
Absolutely an amazing amount of equipment you had offered to you for FREE! Never ever turn down any equipment when someone offers you it. The fact that someone offers you free equipment says they were thinking about you and that is a blessing for sure. Having lathes allows you to work and stop on one lathe and do something else on the other without breaking down the lathe to do another job. Maybe it is time to think about building an extension to your shop/garage. You can never build a shop or add-on large enough to accommodate everything you'd like to eventually have, but extensions help as you grow...
Use the small lathe for the collet chuck and small work and big one for the 3&4 jaw work. Will save time swapping. Buy a cheap shed from box store for storage. Also invest in a nice precision level to setup and level your new lathe.
What an awesome score! That is incredible! What a generous man Robert is! It's awesome that your data so proud of you Chris! You have been working so hard and God is blessing you🙏
OH DEAR LORD!!!! THAT IS INCREDIBLE!!! You won't have to swap between a four jaw and a three jaw, you can just hop on your other lathe!!! You are so lucky! That is amazing.
This the very best of gifted equipment a fellow can get. Thank Dad for leaving a great impression and proudly telling the gifter about your channel. Wow, very nice of the guy.
Big thanks to this Richard guy! You deserve these nystul's though because you're extremely talented. Sometimes the world smiles on a talented person who's deserving of a boost. You're lucky to have a dad who's proud of you as well!. Keep up the good work and I hope life keeps treating you well.
Congrats on the new lathes and drill press! Can't waite to see all the things you will be making on them. When you can afford to get into a bigger shop I say go for it! Good luck!
Straight up, I love it when you work with your Homemade Lathe. Searching "homemade lathe" or some such was how I found your channel in the first place and I enjoy it a lot! That said, you certainly deserve the recognition; Massive Props to Richard AND your Dad for their support. (BTW if you EVER sell the Homemade Lathe, count me in the bidding!)
Thats something else man. You definitely deserve the blessing or it wouldn't have happened. Also, let your dad brag about you as much as he wants. As a father of twin 5 year old boys that get 1st and 2nd place every single race theyve raced on their little ktm50s i can tell you watching my sons doing something as insignificant as winning the 50cc beginner class makes my wife and i so proud we hold each other crying while our sons shake their heads and pretend like they dont know who we are. Doctors told my wife she couldn't have kids before she met me. 6 months after we got together she was pregnant with twins. Goes to show you, sometimes good things happen to good people that deserve the blessing.
Your Dad is proud of you and your you tube channel so am I you have come along way since you first started and you were just a young kid messing around and having fun .
Kudos to both Richard AND your dad for introducing him to your channel XD As for your needing your own "shop" I would suggest either begging your dad toi allow you to build a new larger workshop near your shed, or as you mentioned, get your own workshop. That would allow you to get on with your projects without upsetting temperamental neighbors and more. Whatever you choose, PLEASE make sure your security is good, the last thing any of us what to see is your fantastic projects, or the equipment to get stolen
Those are two beautiful machines. The first lathe I learned on was a southbend but it was from the 1950’s. Very reliable machine. The victor reminds me of a standard modern 1440. Very popular size and a solid machine. You’re very lucky to have them, they’ll serve you well.
Your dads proud of you man, you don’t know how much that means yet, if my dad actually said he was proud of me and meant it I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. One day you’ll understand how happy he is and how amazed he is with your skills and imagination. Keep up the good work man
Son let your daddy brag all he wants, it’ll be the best memory you’ll have one day. Every parent doesn’t have anything they can brag on!😊😊 so happy that Mr Richard helped u out!
Thank you Richard! Very kind good Sir... I'm sure he will get great use out of it all and it'll push his precision in the right direction. This lad is a good investment, he uses his time doing great things and he becomes a better and better fabricator engineer with every project.
I had two older machinists help me out the same way . They seen I had a really big interest and helped me out the same way 4yrs ago. Now I own and operate a machine shop. This is a game changer for u and u deserve it . There are alot of channels who back yard booger stuff . Hu will be doing things right now . Congratulations man ! Now u just need to learn how to use it all lol
I am not familiar with that Victor lathe but there has to be a way to disengage the lead screw while you are turning and facing. It will save some wear on the bearings when you turn with those high RPMs. I would recommend finding a user manual and reading that before you get started. It will also cover the lubrication of your lathe which is very important. If you have not leveled the ways of your lathe, I think that would make a great video for those setting up a lathe for the first time.
Cool new toys! McMaster-Carr have anti vibration, height adjustable foot pads for heavy machinery, that will help to quiet the lathe down, and all but eliminate the house rocking vibrations.
Hey Chris, Super cool dad!!! Without him, Richard wouldn't have offered you all that machinery because he wouldn't have known about you. Super cool people both dad and Richard! Use those lathes with pleasure and enjoy them! Love the channel, can't say that enough! Also please lift with the legs and not the back! All the best!
That is one hell of a gift bro! With your talents those pieces of equipment is going to up your game! Richard sees in you what all of your subscribers see. He was in a position to help and that's pretty incredible. Let your Dad do what hes doing bud, hes proud of you, your his son that's doing things other than just playing video games all day. Your a productive person with incredible talents most of us wish we had a fraction of. So just let your father brag about you. When your my age you'll appreciate it more than you think. The only thing my father did was beat the shit out of me and tell me I was worthless. To this day I have a hard time taking compliments. I look forward to seeing your next videos. You give me inspiration too. Keep up the good work.
This is coming from a man who never knew his father had emotions or a sense of humor or never seen him smile until i was in my 30s! I weld fabricate build a lot of things an will start me a channel soon but my pop likes to help an gets mad if i don't let him know I'm working on something he could have helped with! He tell everyone an likes to talk about what i build . Took me a long time to understand why he was the way he was before now. I was 30 before i ever seen that man smile or heard him laugh didn't know it was possible .My only regret is that it took so long for me to find him, he never left just felt like i never knew him till then. He is proud of you he may not say it but with the older generation you sometime you have to read between the lines!
So happy for you. You are gonna enjoy using a good lathe😉👍 I was having the same space problems as yourself and I got some old rusty shipping containers and used them for my machine tools and when I got my own house I was able to move from my dad's house and get back to building scrap in 2 day's 👍
Congratulations Chris, Happy for you brother. I'm sure it will help tremendously and the quality of what you build will show it as well. Again, Happy for you buddy..
Your Dad loves you and is proud of you. Let him sing your praises. As a father I understand your pops.
Exactly what I was about to type. 👍But I think your said it even better. He's just very proud of his son. Thats great.
@@charlesbarnard4040 Yep... Same here. I have 2 boys about his age. Amazing what kids can do in their mid-20s.

he tells everybody about your UA-cam channel because he is proud of you
Damn straight.

Let a dad be proud man. You’ll understand later in life.
could not agree more raising good kids is the greatest accomplishment
It's nice knowing there are still good people in this world...
