- This is my way of cleaning the basket, portafilter and shower screen in between extractions/shots.
I don’t use a brush anymore and find this way better. I also do back flushing of course.
Please leave a comments and recommendations of how you clean your machines and how often.
do you clean the portalfilter even if its there is no other order?
I didn’t quite understand the question 😅
Actually when I see the video today I think it is a bit confusing… today I flush the shower screen a bit after removing the pf… I also let the pf rinse while purging water out of the group head.
Depending if I will make more shots I the sometimes use a brush for the shower screen in the end… purge again and in the end I use the micro fiber towel.
The basket is cleaned with water in between shots.
If you now (end of the video) make coffee it will be too hot I guess? The steam bar was on 1,5..
@@FikaSulyvahn this the method of a HX machine. When the bar is at 1,5 for a long time the temperature of the water is too hot, yes. But to work around that you’ll have to purge away/the the boiling water out the boiling and then you still can have your second shot.
👌🏻
Your pucks are so dry Aziz, mine are always soapy...same thing was happening with my classic....only with La Pavoni I have dry solid pucks 😅
I Am really no expert here but after having tried many different kind of beans I find that some of them are soapy and some aren’t.
This really goes hand in hand how easy they are to grind also… imo at least… the ones that are extremely fluffy/the beans I manage to dial in perfect seems to be more dry in the basket. I guess the explanation is that the coffee is better distributed and therefore the dryness is more even throughout the process puck.
Sorry for babbling… I am probably all wrong here , just a theory 🙃😂
my puck is always soapy, too! Wanted to ask Aziz, but u already did :D
@@AzizIzgin wich configuration do u use? warm/hot/extra hot and brew/steam Priority? Perhaps the puck gets solid if the temperature is higher?
@@alexanderwening8959 sorry to disappoint here but I use setting “0” which should be “espresso mode” lowest temperature I am not mistaken.
Although when using Ethiopian, I go with higher temperature.
Answer : basket to big or not enough coffee means to much space between shower and puck = to much water... another factor is the coffee itself dark roast less dense etc can collapse and so on... sry for the wall of text :D
