That’s the power of MJ even when he’s singing the song in the Short Film/Music Video you can still see that he’s passionate yet emotionally invested about what he’s singing. Also this was filmed the same day as “Rock With You” also recording “She’s Out Of My Life” MJ had to do 7-10 takes cause he cried at the end of the song every time so Quincy Jones just kept it in the final cut,and the reason MJ cried during each take of the song while recording it he said that he cried from the sudden effect of the words because in his words "I had been letting so much build up inside me." Particularly it reminded him of his feeling of being "so rich in some experiences while being poor in moments of true joy." He worried about this feeling showing up on the song,but also felt in his words "if it touched people's heartstrings,knowing that would make me feel less lonely." Quincy Jones said in an interview the first time Michael sung this song he cried like he had experienced what he was singing. Quincy said Michael was too young to even experienced a relationship in this manner. Quincy said every time than after Michael would cry each time he would sang it. When Michael recorded the song, he cried while singing it in studio....Quincy said leave the crying on the album. Michael's mother said in an interview that when she was pregnant she knew Michael was special. She said Michael had an old soul. She said Michael soul was like he had lived out what he sang about and what he would do in old ways of doing things. She said he had always thought outside of the box. She said lyrics, music and different instruments flows through his mind.
Michael loved nature and could sense nature.
Michael said in an interview that he wrote 50-60 songs per album and chose only a few out of them. Imagine how many songs that is… a lot more than his discography of like 145 songs released to the public. 😧

Shes out of my life ranks number 30 on the list of saddest love songs of all time. Amazing song but quite sad, from a video i had seen a few months ago it is rumored this song was about Diana Ross, ( He loved her) Or his ex Girlfriend Stephine Mills As they broke up in 1980 if I am not mistaken!

I relate this song to my paternal grandmother who was a Jehovah's Witness who was my primary guardian for my first 7 years of my life but who wasn't accepting of my sexuality because of her cult "religion". She passed away last July 15th of last year. The saddest thing is that we didn't have a relationship after she became a Jehovah's Witness because she would always try to convert me to becoming a Jehovah's Witness and I didn't want to be one and so I had to cut her out of my life because she wouldn't give up her "religion" and it was like talking to a brick wall when I was talking with her.

@@SephPlays even I didn’t truly discover MJ till around 2003ish and I’m 36. A lot of people made fun of me for being a big MJ fan in HS because they knew him more as an alleged child molester.
