oh that mouthpiece looks perfect for me being a bass trombone player learning baritone so i can audition for Bluecoats this next season! what size is that? 11XL 12 XL?
I notice the bluecoats run Hammond mouthpieces. This summer I will be marching with the Colt Cadets. I play baritone. I want to buy a Hammond mouthpiece, but I cant seem to find the correct one to use. Anyone have any ideas?
do you shake/bounce when you march? because your sound sounds like it's weaving at parts when you march.... it happens to me a lot in my high school marching shows
Joseph Price I can confirm I have to do it in my show, my highschool band is a big competition band and our assistant director marched trumpet for Blue Devils and Carolina Crown. We play tilt as our part three and have a few difficult marching/playing parts
When you audition do you audition with baritone or euph. and that's what you play or do you get assigned afterward? Also do you need to know how to play Trombone? (Trombone player but I don't see trombones being marched aside from some selections)
When auditioning, you are able to express interest in either baritone or euphonium. So, if you want to audition for a baritone part, you go through the normal audition process (what everyone does) and then staff will pull you aside once more to have you play some stuff in the upper register to see how your high chops are. Now, if you wanted a baritone spot but don't make it, that doesn't mean you aren't able to march. There is still the chance that you will be put on a euphonium part. In the end, you won't know if you will be playing baritone or euphonium until the end of the callback camp. In regards to trombone, you don't need to know how to play at the camps. In the event that we use trombones again, we would get to playing them at the future spring camps before spring training starts. Hope this helps!
Eric H. Oh I never realized that baritone parts are traditionally higher than Euph but I’ll probably go for that when I audition, I have mad high chops. As for trombone, that’s my main instrument so I hope I get to use one in the show
@@upsidedownpyramid7617 yeah if you get a bari spot most likely you're using the bone since they're the one that switch most of the time. Euphs however are like the 2nd and 3rd (bass) bones and aren't used as much as the bari players
How long did it take you to really get used to marching euph Im auditioning for a corps in Illinois in December and I want an idea of what im in for lol
4 years later, this is still amazing
the bass drum at 9:45
0:53 the trumpeter is playing tilt
Okay but did Ben Gunnarson fall at around 4:18 😂
Diego Hernandez omg I just saw that 😂
1:18 cheers
did anyone else notice when they painted the flip up bottoms of the half pipes

Angel Guerra he is moving at a running speed, and it is extremely difficult to play and march correctly whilst moving that fast
