I saw Elvis at the Sahara Hotel in May 1973...I was 21. Elvis handed me his red scarf and I hugged his arm. He was singing the song "It's Over". The scarf was wet with his sweat and I LOVED putting that scarf around my neck. I went back to college and couldn't wait to show my friends. I kept it folded exactly as he gave it to me and you could see the sweat stains on it. Then..... someone broke into my room (easily done by sliding your student ID between the door frame and the lock) and took the scarf. To this very day it makes me sick.....especially to think that it was probably someone I knew. 😢❤️. I have loved Elvis since age 4.
That's 12 Blessed people..100 times to an Elvis concert (pt 1) n I never had 1opportunity..I was 15 when Elvis died..I can't even imagine..I pray they all know how blessed they were to have been in that era of time..God Bless

Hello from England I don't know if anyone has heard of a saying "what goes around comes around' but its so true and at 7.52 into this video Bob mentions the cycle of life. The generation from the 60's let alone the 70's will be 70 years + and passing their personal collection of memorabilia to their children or even grandchildren must go on. I learnt from my late father who died 20 years ago "don't throw anything away" Just think how much "STUFF" was thrown away and as Bob says "STUFF" in attics. You watch the Antiques Roadshow in Britain and the expert will say where did you find this and the owner will say: we were clearing my parents house after they died or something similar Its like the small collection of vinyl albums my late parents had from the 50's and 60's i still have and play today. Such great sound still We must ask our parents before its too late to get the provenance or history on anything

I recall on my first visit to Gracelan and aboard the Lisa Marie, I'd think "My gosh, Elvis touched these items, sat in/on AND breathed this air". Maybe I just inhaled a molecule Elvis had at one time. To HAVE a scarf you KNEW for fact Elvis threw to you.hiS perspersperation on it would blow my mind. I always had mixed feelings about the scarfs, it seemed to distract from the singing of the songs in the latter years, but knowing Elvis's desire to give people things it makes sense now and it has created another legacy for fans.. Great video
We just want to HANG ON: I like the stories people TRY to pass off like: "Oh I grew up in Memphis with Elvis' Uncles Girls friends 3rd Cousin!" Oh yea? LOL .............................................Tell me more!!!! :) :) All of us that either KNEW Elvis or grew up , seeing him here or there around town, feel a bound with Elvis. Although we never REALLY knew him, or like me I never even met him, but we FEEL that connection with him or TO him. Even when some people try to fabricate a story that you KNOW isn't really true , Bless their pea pickin' hearts they just wanna hold on to him and his memory any way they can. I do too, I guess. . As I have mentioned many times,...I lived next door to his Ranch and watched them ride horses out there and I served in the SAME Army unit in Friedberg, but that as close as I ever came to meeting him. (Dang it Billy, brother why in the WORLD .......did we NOT ever make it to at LEAST ONE Elvis Presley Show, in our life time ?) LOL See? Even a sweaty old scarf , people STILL treasure that like it was gold. :) They just want to Hang On to what ever we can of "Elvis". I'd ❤ to have 1 or an item of his for my collection but the prices are insane! Anything affiliated with E.P, his death or yr of is expensive. I wouldn't be able to tell real from fake anyway, even after watching the video 😉. Anyhow, 1 a show my goodness! He gave more expensive items away,cars,jewlery & $ like it was candy. Then hardly threw them at 1st after the $ he spent an order. I've seen 1 never touch him & audio where he said "hold on he had to use it 1st", 😂 That's E.P. for us. Love Me Tender & Teddy Bear I think are the 2 they got thrown for. On another note R.I.H GK🙏 we ❤ u & u will be missed. We are losing them all soo close to each other this yr. Has me thinking differently about my life.

To own a scarf would be very difficult today without a letter of proof,ie venue year,how and a pic of it being thrown would be awesome,not impossibile tho
So hard to trust anything. And surprised Graceland would sale a necklace with only a letter from Dave Hebler. I’m not saying Dave is a liar, but plenty of reason for reasonable doubt. Looking at the last Graceland auction, it appears Graceland is buying up memorabilia and then resale it. I have no problem with that at all. But when they start accepting items that can’t really authenticate it doesn’t help their reputation. Like the red shirt and necklace. At least they did put a “ probably “ on the red shirt.
I watched another UA-cam video with this lady on it selling one of the Hilton Lobby scarfs with the H on it she said Elvis threw it at her from the stage .She claims he was wearing it and it at his sweat on it and his blood LOL. She ended up getting a $1000 from her little lie .

Whilst on the subject of clothes Spa-Guy can you investigate the Golden Records Vol 2 box set which supposedly had a swatch of Elvis's clothing in it. Always wondered what clothes they used as Elvis gave away a lot of them and the others Graceland have on show. Wondered what Elvis thought of having his clothes cut up (if they actually were). Cheers
