    Our boat gets 19 ft that's feet of rain a year on the Pacific side of Panama it's been there more than 20 years needless to say it does not leak we can't even have a slight drip with the humidity and temperature it will destroy the boat

      Hi roefamily, its a fear of ours. For us, we stored our boat in a very dry place for a few months, and it caused a shocking drying of the teak on top. Now we are back north with the repairs done, the inside of our boat is much happier. I've heard the tropics are the death of many screwed teak decks. thanks for the comment :)

      Hi Anthony, are you referring to the plugs? They do a little but typically once the glue holding them fails, they seep water slowly as they constantly try to dry and shrink. Its necessary to check regularly as any that go undetected will cause the ply underneath to rot. Im glad to say the deck is watertight to my knowledge for the moment.
