This new patent from Toyota could be the spiritual successor to the Honda Element. Except better. Hybrid technology and sliding doors?! Also could this be the next Sienna?

This will without a shadow of a doubt put the Sprinter in the scrap yard. You have no idea the amount of overland campers and Toyota fanboy that would buy this.

@@stephenshowell To be honest I think the Sprinter will still live on if this van doesn’t meet the dimensions near the Sprinter. This and the Sprinter are on different platform that’s for sure. Toyota does have a nice size audience and die hard fan’s that are waiting to get their hands on the latest products, just saying.

I love the Mitsubishi Delica. It’s been almost 18yrs since they first came out with it, and I still love it. I think a new Delica is coming in 2026 as a production version of the D:X concept. It would be a bittersweet moment because I just love the outgoing model so much.

Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video i had the honda element from 2007 until 2019 and i miss its boxy design and easy to spot in the parking lot of any shopping center but if toyota bring something similar to the element hopefully correct those suicide doors i will be first in line to get it thanks for the presentation

    Yes, please!
I had both the 1st and 2nd Gen Scion xB’s and I really miss both of them…my 1st Gen more!
1st Gen are really difficult to find here in 🇨🇦 and mine was manual transmission which is way better than the sluggish auto.
Anayways as you can tell I like boxy and funky vehicles so I’d be interested in checking this out if it becomes available in North America. I will have to stick with my 5th Gen 4Runner and GR Corolla CE 😃…which I am pretty much never intending to sell either of those…ever 😂.

I've got my Twizzlers and Coke Zero and I'm buckled in !!! Let's go !!! This Toyota Sienna concept is supercool. Screw full EV. Make it yet another brilliant Toyota hybrid. I would love to see the Sienna made with polycarbonate body panels. My brother has been in dent repair for 30 years in So Cal. The one car he's never worked on is a Saturn, because of their plastic body panels that don't dent. Just imagine how great it would be if the Sienna has replaceable plastic body panels, just like Lego. Also, the Sienna would make one heck of a camper. Offer accessories like the Kammock Crosswing 3-second awning, the Trelino Composting Toilet, and for the roof, the awesomest Redtail Skyloft Rooftop Carbon Fiber Camper. I mean... seriously, this ain't no amateur hour !!!

If it's going to be an offroad vehicle, then electric isn't really the best powertrain for this. What would owners do if the EV battery dies on the trail and there's no charging station in sight?

Depending on the size, or offering a regular and extended version... a Honda Element "style" modern twist would be amazing imo. Bring that out in hybrid ev or full ev version and add it would be fantastic.

Intriguing for sure. Thanks for sharing Kirk. With all the small/mini "cargo" vans being discontinued, I wish Toyota and Honda would launch versions of them here in the states. A bare bones Odyssey or Sienna "cargo" van has been missing in our market for far too long. I would buy a "new" (not 25 yr old) "cargo" version of the proace or hiace if they were available in the states. As far as buying a full sized Promaster, Transit or Sprinter and hoping they last without major repairs needed before 60-80k miles, not inclined to take that plunge. I'm not willing to take that risk considering what they cost and the typical failures that accompany them. I've also heard the Chevy Express nearing it's end of production soon.

Honestly, I just want an updated Toyota xB.
Something practical, reliable, fun, and FAST! No offense to this hulking transport van, but that's not for me. The FJ Cruiser is neat, but that's aimed for off-road types, which as much as I would love to rally, I spend more time on pavement. So for those looking to do road trips, this X-Van may be the car for them, and the FJ, if it ever sees the light of day, for people who want an alternative to a Jeep.
That all said, I appreciate you making this video because I'm using it with my current case with Toyota to bring back the xB. I know it's a long shot, but I think that toaster oven of a box has been unjustly targeted as a joke, when in actuality, it's one of the best and iconic Toyota vehicles of all time. It may not be an AE86 or Supra (not the BMW), but it is Toyota and we keep talking about it to this day, even after almost a decade since Scion closed operations.

Designed especially for that 5% that have the propensity to do/buy the unusual. They're the ones that think Honda Aztec Gold, or AMC Jolly Green are beautiful and elegant; while the rest of us see them as gaudy and eccentric.

"There's a butt for every seat on the lot"!!!

Maybe the rear seat slides forward so it’s not so close to the back. Maybe they could make a safety feature where the rear seat has to be in a certain place for the car to start.

Honda screwed up on just one part of the design of the Element, which was the horrible plastic cladding. They fixed this aesthetic problem on the last year, but it had been cancelled by then and that last year of Elements was super popular with popular. Such a great idea to have a rubber floor.

This must’ve popped up cuz I was searching values for my 07 Element soon for sale.
So, in less than 5 minutes of reading the comments, maybe I win a prize for having owned & driven for extended periods of time at least FIVE of the vehicles mentioned. Besides the Honda, a Sprinter (04 FedEx Home Delivery), 1st Gen Scion xB (05 automatic used 1.5 years on a rural USPS route), a Sienna (07? AWD), AND a Previa (RWD 96). Only one on the list was STELLAR to drive AND indestructible. Guess which one???
Don’t forget, the Honda will be for sale. 2nd owner, 195K FWD LX. Completely new front end. 2 hrs N of Austin. TEXAS.

This would be a "shut up and take my money" situation if it hits the states. Unless you shuttle 6+ passengers regularly a 6 max passenger capacity is fine. The dimensions would be perfect - back to 80's/90's minivan days before captains chairs were the norm. Let's pray that toyota's "magna steyr" gets this built and shipped to the US asap. Doesn't need awd or bev. A prius powertrain on this breadvan coach is what we need. Consider this a competitor to a phantom Ford transit connect would it have stayed in the market
