Great idea. 1. Etch the entire glass without the year leaving a space. Etch the year as needed in 1 minute. 2. Use a card or squeegee while the paint is wet to remove 99% of paint. 3. Put masking over the glass, engrave, paint, remove mask before dry. Any mask spots left let the paint dry and the mask comes off with water (not dangling spit). 4. Use a tabletop diode laser rather than a beast.. Done all this with my cheap diode laser. Alibaba ornaments $2.50. $3.44 jpplus
all you gotta do is use a little squeegee or blade and wipe the glass while its wet and most of the paint will come off of the smooth area and stay in the engraving
Cover with painters’s tape before engraving part of the image. Paint then remove tape. Rinse and repeat other part of the image with a *DIFFERENT color* !
It was a suggestion, i use this method for glass pictures engraving or with the cnc machine when I want to make wood writing in different colours it works well like this. Also on stone engraving with the laser or cnc. 🙂 Anyway good video👍. Nice work, I always appreciate good ideas and persons who does something nice like you do, keep on. 👍
I am using a j tech 7w pro laser. I paint with tempura paint to engrave. After engraving I clean the tempura off. Then I paint the engraving let mostly dry but the paint does stick. I am using spray paint. Any sugestions. Thanks
Great Vid. Can I ask as a total beginner I've watched lots of Vids that say you have to paint the glass first. How did you manage this without paint? Also Where did you focus your lens -- Top ot the glass or on the board below? I'm just in ORR of your ability Thanks for sharing.
Hi I used a co2 laser that etched glass with ease if you use a diode laser you will need to paint the glass. I also focus to the top of the glass. Thanks for watching
7:15 Lay the paper towel flat on the table and rub the inverted piece on it. You'll get better mileage from the paper towel - and less gouges in the paint.
stellar! Love this idea! I never thought of popping some paint in there.
Thanks for watching good luck
I tried three times to like your video but I already had. Thanks for the tips.

I do that as well. But I don't mark the wood I cut it so you have a good positive placement
That works to thanks for watching
great vid, thanks for sharing. oh and .... pleaaaase clean the laser's door :)
yes that door is annoying I think I am going to have to adjust the latches it has started buzzing again
Nice video! What were the settings you used, speed/power and the power of your laser? I have yet to get a good result on glass!
Thanks in advance ☺

Love my Rabbit Laser!!
Rabbit is a very good laser for sure

Nice video, but you can use mask pn the glass before engrave, and after paint it, and after that peal off the mask
Yes you can but I personally hate that method it reminds me to much like vinyl weeding the whole reason I don't do vinyl anymore yuck

Nice spit shine! Lol
At 1:13 you measured and said that they were 3 1/2 inches in circumference. You meant to say diameter I know, but figured I'd point that out.

You can't sell that because you spit on it lol. Jk. Great video.
The spit makes it cost more lol
