- Comparing a pair of Timberland 40 Below Super Boots from 1987 with a pair of Timberland 8 Inch Waterproof boots. Very rarely are brands able to maintain their highest quality standards once they reach a certain point and strive to cut their expenses while simultaneously increasing profits. I can't confidently say that Timberland is an exception to this-despite what you'll see in this comparison, especially when considering the quality of most general release Timberland boots-but they went the extra mile with both of these boots, giving customers like myself another opportunity to get a taste of the old, golden days.

I still have the 2017 release. They're one of my all time favorites
Believe it or not, I got mine at Marshall's in 2018 for $159
@@gbarreto_ Jeeeeeez, that's a HUGE come up!
Thank you for all these details and informations . You have a good taste
Love the content brother, keep it coming.
Appreciate it G! 🙏🏽
You got good taste in boots man I love both boots the 40 below and those 20 below. I'm trying to step up my collection when it comes to boots now and going to go for more boots than sneakers from now on cause you can't compare the quality cause you can't pull out a Jordan from 1987 in that quality it would fall apart
Absolutely LOVED this video. Nothing beats a classic Timberland. Amazing to see one of the originals.
Didn't know they still sold made in USA ones. Although for that price you might as well get a custom pair of Nick's..
1000%! It's also a bit frustrating, because we're able to see what Timberland is still capable of and who knows what they could retail for if they really committed to it again and the volume was high enough. 🤷🏽♂
That indentation is called wheeling. Is typically a QC issue for expensive goodyear welted footwear. It means that they weren’t careful when using the stitching machine. However, in the case of timberland, they usually use computerized stitching. That indent is still a sign of hand and machine stitching over just a computer. So in terms of timberland boots it is actually a sign its of higher quality over their own options. Also unlike other timbs, those are goodyear welted, although more unconventionally they only have the benefit of being able to be repaired, as the sole is still glued on, its just glued onto the midsole which is stitched to the welt. The sole can still fall off but if it does you can easily get it repaired, unlike normal timbs.
I'd throw some mink oil on those 40 belows
The oxblood boots are beautiful! 👍$200?
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! Nice looking boots. With proper care the Goodyear welted boots will last forever (though they might need a resole or two). You have a very solid on-camera presence. Keep up the great work.
BTW, Tring Shoe Repair did a video about resoling Timberlands: ua-cam.com/video/FMXeBGjRaB0/v-deo.html
