Yeah it’s really sad to see as a British fan, but we’ve got some of the worst refs and judges in this country. The bbbofc needs to have a complete review/enquiry into it, it’s an absolute disgrace
This ref is usually more alert. Disappointing to see a fighter take excessive shots.

According to BBBofC {3.32.1 knock down is when one or both feet are in contact with the ring floor, and ANY other part of their body touches the floor}, so yes a missed knockdown in round 1. Obvs ref didn't see it, surprised commentators didn't mention it, although he was the "A side"...... 🙄🤷🏻♂️
Definite Knockdown, I knew there was not going to be a replay because he was the BT sports boxer, not sure how the ref missed it either he was on that side.
The same thing happened with Eubank and Groves when Groves dropped Eubank and his knee hit the canvas hard. Then another 2 knockdowns later in the fight that should have been scored as well...ref clearly had a bet on Eubank that night lmao
Callum is best U.K. fighter right now and would have any of the other U.K. fighters it’s up to them to face up to the challenge and not hold off the fights. Callum had almost 2 years without a fight he deserves championship fights

Callum Johnson is the best British LHW by far I really hope Frank Warren gets behind him and pushes for a world title shot , he is the only British LHW who is ready and capable of getting a world title at this point. Arthur needs to develop more and Craig Richards has jumped the gun early in taking on Bivol. Callum Johnson has a good chance of beating Joe Smith Jnr if he puts up the type of performance he did against Beterbiev who is the best LHW by far.Emil Markic was European champion with a good record and no soft touch especially after a 2 year lay off.
Joshua buatsi knocks callum Johnson out in my opinion. Johnson is way to venerable
@@ghostbalo I don't see that fight going the distance and Callum Johnson would get hit for sure but he would bring the fight in close where he has a considerable power advantage and I just don't see Buatsi handling the pressure well. Buatsi looked vulnerable himself early on in the fight he had with Marko Calic and Johnson hits a lot harder. Because of the Eddie Hearn Frank Warren relationship and the fact Johnson was promoted by Hearn I just don't see that fight being made.
@@johnhue8933 Hearn kept Buatsi well away from CJ, he did what he always does when he wants everyone to think he made a real offer for a fight and gave CJ a lowball offer that he knew CJ would turn down - just so Hearn can say he made an offer for the CJ Buatsi fight but CJ turned it down. Classic Hearn tactic.
He's a bit old now, guy looks great but he's nearly 36.

Johnson's not your average British boxer, has a lot of power.
I can't say I'm that impressed by Johnson on this fight. Definitely the more dominant was Johnson but the fight was just a brawl. Johnson was careless and put himself in dangerous situations. Needs to step up if he fights world class fighters again.

He did well for being out of the ring for over 2 years but he needs to take note and tidy up his defence, his strengths his strength and power are very strong but he needs to tidy up his weaknesses his defence and footwork. This is a good start but I hope he learns from this.

That happens to every fighter not just Callum Johnson. Its the risk of getting in the ring.
He does need to work on his defence.
Perhaps why he relatively few fights, his brain would be scrambled otherwise.
That's because he's going for the KO from the vey first bell lol. Even Beterbiev got dropped by CJ, the guy is great to watch and will never be a defensive wizard - his defence is to knock the other guy out quick and he's done it in all his fights except against the #1 in the division and top 5 p4p. Joe Smith and Callum Johnson are like 2 peas in a pod who go for KO's no matter what and that fight will be dynamite if it happens.

Johnson is a thick set guy which is why he gets away with fighting like he does however, he's going to get knocked out again when he fights at world level.
