- Continuing our demo's on the Tone King amp range, Jack runs you through this 20 watt tone power house; the Falcon Grande.
Providing both Blackface and Tweed tones in one amp with a built in attenuator, makes this amp super versatile for those great old school tones!

Jack is the best demo player. Great player who focuses on demoing rather than his great playing. And seems such a nice fellow as well. A real asset to peach guitars.
Jack is one of the finest guitar players I’ve ever heard. And I’m in my 60’s and been around a long time. He is so young too!
Really like that you play lots of chords instead of showing us how fast you can play single notes.
That was one of the best Falcon Grande demos I've watched. You did leave out one very important feature of this amp, it has a 4 button footswitch that allows you to switch between the voicings as well as reverb on/off. Crucial.
Thanks for mentioning this, exactly what I wanted to know and hear. Very important and very cool feature. THX!
Undoubtedly the best player and demo of the Falcon Grande (or any Tone King) on the internet!
Got to be one of the best demos of any amp that I’ve ever seen. Thanks for a great piece of work.
I like this amp, and it's having the power attenuator. Great tweed tones. Makes me think about an investment. Good to hear chords, and how it reacts to the dynamics. Great.
I bought this amp after watching this review. Hands down the best amp I’ve ever had and worth every penny! Thanks for the review, you do a fantastic job with all your videos.
Still liking it, does it do clean?
Eric Filsinger it does clean very well. And I still love it. Buy one if you’re on the fence. It’s worth the money.
I have the old 1x10 version but the Grande with 12 inch speaker and great reverb...I’m with yah..I’ll start saving.👍👍
He plays absolutely killer riffs and stops on an instant to start talking all mellow and calm like it wasn’t even him just playing.
You have amazing talent man and I rarely say that. Good to see your people embracing the old school stuff and new technology
Wow factor 100%.of all the demos i listen to this amp imo the best tone for me.
You would not believe how good this amp sounds with a RESONATOR! I love it. And the attenuator is a game changer for live...
What guitar do u play? Do you have an es335 or something similar? Looking at this amp to pair with my es339. I like the power attenuator the most which is why I'm not looking at like a blackface or something
@@mjf4394 I ended up returning the amp due to travel purposes (need a princeton or comparable) for touring... still a great amp! I was playing a National El Trovador (with pickup), and a gretsch 6120 (setzer model).. both sound great.
@@mjf4394 a 339 should sound great with this rig.
@@ataleoftwomusic thanks for the reply! I'm stuck in the zone of watching every review I can to get intimate with it ha. The gear lust is real and I think I'm gonna pull the plug on it ha. The attenuator is a really nice feature and I like the channel switches. The breakup sounds nice and transparent too. Tired of my vox tone.
@@mjf4394 be cautious this has some built in compression with the gain setting... the attentuator also has a noticeable bump volume between the highest (most quiet) to second highest.. there is no in between there...
overall, it is a very good amp, but I did struggle with myself about the $2,000 price tag... I think you COULD replicate this with great pedals...
Jack, your video of this amp helped me to make up my mind finally to buy this amp - man, that's a beast of an amp.
Its not as easy to set up as a classic 3-channel amp, such as a Mesa Boogie Mark V combo, because there are a few knobs only to play with.
But once you get into it, understanding the combinations of settings and how those interact, this amp is killer.
Normally, I do not read instruction manuals - but Tone King provides some nices settings as good starting points - so, woth reading every of the 17 pages.
Fantastic review mate. You played chords with feeling. Just excellent.
I’m sick of buying cheaper amps that don’t do what I need them to do. I really want both 50’s and 60’s fender voicing, but I need it to be able to be quiet and occasionally pretty loud. I’ve decided I don’t care how long it takes, I’m saving for this one. I hope it will be something I’ll use for years
Honestly this sounds so good
the telecaster is a Fender Custom Shop 60s Tele Journeyman Relic Aged Surf Green
That telecaster is so gorgeous!!
Have to agree, covering so many styles of playing, notes and chords, gives us a great feeling of what the amp is capable of, I want one 😀
Very nice review of the amp, and very clean and tasteful playing.
This kid will make anything sound great.
I’ve never wanted an amp so much!
Very thorough demo of that awesome amp. Accompanied with excellent riffs. Thank you, from Down Under.
I was waiting for this one since you made the demo of the Gremlin. Great playing as usual, and it's cool that you played the same guitar for both demos. Time for Imperial II and Sky King now :)
Now that's how you demo!
Absolutely great demo
Great demo man!
Amazing tone and playing! Rock On
Awesome Sound and Awesome Playing.
This guy is so good at this.
Really awesome amp. Would love to hear Fuzz pedals mixing with those overdrive tones. Very American sounding, and warm. Seems dynamic and alive.
cool amp, if it had an extra tube gain stage, and tube or a FET or tube driven reverb I would probably buy it. Definitely got some cool features apart from the bass treble master others only have. Jacks definitely got some talent and he's young too!
If this has a speaker out I think I'm sold It is PCB these days though but done right hard to tell a difference
Wow guy before my post right.....playing rhythm chords...is a refreshing post.....love Falcon grande...but it’s an all purpose amp...great blackface,tweed....and .......Supro type overdrive...Great🤙🏻
I think I'm gonna buy one, strat sounds amazing
Dang good demo. I just ordered my falcon grande, and I'm dying to play it.
Now that is a great demo.
Jesus this sounds amazing - fantastic playing
Effortlessly talented guitar player.
I have both gremlin and falcon grande.
I love them both BUT, the gremlin sounds better go me.
I use the the gremlin for all gigs that don’t require the volume the grande has. I only use tone king amps live now. Had em all.
Anyways, both great, prefer gremlin tones.
Can you elaborate on what 'better' equates to, for your ears? One thing I *think* I'm detecting is that the Grande doesn't sound very 'open'. If you imagine saying 'Ah' and then 'Ooh' (not 'Oh', like the letter... but Ooh... as in choo-choo'), it sounds more like 'Ooh' than 'Ah' to me. Closed and not open/airy. Am I wrong in that? The Gremlin demo actually sounded more open. Is that the case, to your ears in real life, in the room sound?
What I really prefer would be the Imperial MkII. Trying to decide if either of these are reasonable compromises primarily for home use/practicing and occasional recording.
Just caught this.
If your using for home, you really don’t need the wattage of the falcon or mk2. My 2 cents
I love the gremlin as it sounds very open and so easy to dial in quick and just play. Can grind on either channel.
I play the falcon for bigger venues. It sounds great as well. Need to crank the the tone though for some reason and then it’s killer. For reference, I have a 64 handwired deluxe but the tone kings just do it for me. I do want to hear the mk2 though as I miss onboard tremolo.
Just ordered this amp after months of searching what suits me best..
Was wondering what drive pedal matchs this amp after your experience with it ?
I'd like to take it towards Hendrix territory, not fuzz, more his bluesy stuff.. Or the sounds he had towards the Cry of love album
And that, ladies and gents, is how you sell me an amplifier
Session playing has given way to gear demoing. 40 years ago when the music business had actual money jack would have possibly been a paid session player. Today he is paid to demo gear. You have to follow the money.
BrandOdyssey that's a very accurate analysis
I think Jack does precisely that though. He has a LinkedIn profile and seems to keep himself very busy with tribute act work, session gigging and demoing for Peach. He’s also a fantastic player with a playing style that’s much to my taste. Good on him.
Anyone that has played session would most likely agree they'd rather be reviewing gear
Damned I'm convinced. Need one!!!
Think I'm about to blow two grand on an amp I don't need. Look at that thing. Look how pretty it is. I'm a total retro 50s style addict.
Nice crisp playing thanks clear demo,,;))
Would love to see Jack do some looping in these already amazing demos.
seems a super versatile amp! thanks :)
Great demo player- because it's not all leads! I can't take anymore lead only demos on amps. Most of us don't solo during the whole show.
Lotta value in this amp!
Now that is an amp w some American lower mid chunky tones. Made that Strat humbucker sound fat and thick.
Wow! Great sounding amp and awesome playing! What mic are you using on this combo?
It does seem a little stiff/dry sounding, or is it just an impression? It also looks like this translates in his playing. I have seen him a little looser and relaxed in his interaction with his guitar.
Is this just an impression, or is it the case?
That's heavy man. --Elvis
Could you guys do a video comparing the Carol-Ann Satin to the Two Rock Custom reverb Signature? Love the videos, btw!
Not sure if you all still check comments on these videos, but I own this amp and in the Tweed and Lead voicings my amp produced a lot more high end and looses some of its low, but this one doesn’t sound like it’s doing that. Any suggestions as to why this might be? I experience this with my American Strat and my SG standard.
Email ToneKing@boutiqueampsdistribution.com if you think something is screwy, they can at least confirm if there's anything going on or not.
This or the Boogie Cali Tweed?
Swap out the 5881’s with 6L6GC...30watt, and sounds better to my ears...😎✌🏻
Good demo ...is this a hand wired amp?
There’s one for sale and I’m hoping my Mesa sells so I can get it
They should have named the amp the UHF or made a dirty channel the UHF channel. Lol. If your old like me you'll get the joke.
So I got the Gremlin head Love it
Great choice Paul, it's a fantastic amp!
@@PeachGuitars Thanks....all my guitars sound so much better LoL though still in the market for a maple neck CS strat Really like that coral tomatillo strat Do you often ship to the states ? You guys represent very well
Hey Paul, we do ship to States frequently! Drop us an email to sales@peachguitars.com and we'll see if we can help you.
Love that amp yet can't afford one. Any great amps for poor folk
😅Does it have a solid state or tube Bridge rectifier?
No rectifier tube so? seems it's solid state rectifier.. the reverb is also solid state driven.
I can’t take my 5 watt amp past 2 without it being ear blowing loud. How the heck can he be cranking a 20 watt amp and bevsat next to it without attenuation...
He's not. There's an attenuator built in!
There's no line out hidden in there is there?
Nope not on this model
This or a Mesa Cali Tweed 20...
Are these amps made by THE TONE KING UA-cam guy?
Really bad joke
What peddle did he use?
Wampler tumnus
Instant Keef.
Sounds very thin Playing is great not sure I like this tone
Looks like an awfully small cab for a 12" speaker.
It's a decent bit larger than a Blues Jr, for comparison.
which tele model is that?! The amp sounds good, but that guitar sounds great too, and Jack too. :)
