I feel this had to be, on paper, a final boss type thing for Datto. Not only is Jakes bank filled with the most fantastic rolls imaginable, he's also asking for the most deletions ever. But in an insane twist, Jake might be the easiest vault clearing of Dattos career hahaha.
This has been the most helpful video for my own vault. Like Jake i keep only 65 stat and up, with the exception of a few pieces that i know go in builds. The issue i have is not wanting to waste the masterwork materials from deleting fully upgraded armor, sitting at almost max materials in all 3 mail boxes and my inventory. Why Bungie hasn’t increased the amount we can hold or provided a material exchange is beyond me.
I cleaned up my vault today too, was 600 + almost full on 3 characters, now it's 240 in vault and 3-4 slots per category on each character. I also collected 400+ engrams at the vendors of which I only kept 5-6 items... Totally envious of all those enhancement cores!
@@jameplatex No, I actually didn't catch that. Considering the huge amount of cores, it makes sense that the number of legendary shards is that high, very impressive. He would probably be a glimmer billionaire if there was no glimmer cap. :D
Ngl it was kinda funny to see the role reversal on datto trying to get Jake to slow down a little bit in some cases where he was just going absolutely in on his own vault like he lost a bet or something to frosty! Good video though looking forward to the follow up
I'd finally gotten my vault down to about 400, then I discovered 'Only show builds with no wasted stats' in ArmorPicker, and I'm back to 600 lol. *Edit: As a PSA concerning armor, don't assume ones with evenly distributed stats are trash. These will often become 'glue' pieces that fill in holes from your spikier distributions and can be all the difference in a build.
Came to the comments to say something similar. Keeping a variety of high stat total armor pieces is critical to optimizing stats. Just pop on DIM's Loadout Optimizer, set an exotic you want to work around, assume masterwork, and maybe play with stat mins/maxes to cater more to your playstyle. You can easily assemble high stat builds on a whim.
The problem I have with deleting is that trash rolls today can wind up being meta tomorrow when Bungie buffs a perk or two. There was an element of that in the latest TWAB even, perks that used to be meh are now, on paper, S-tier. But, for me, 600 slots is plenty, I'm at just over 500 now. But DIM is a godsend for vault maintenance in general. Just being able to go into the organizer to see if a piece is used in a loadout is great (of course, you can also search in DIM and just choose 'not:inloadout' there). And of course search for pieces that are under, say, 65 base stat and candidates for deletion, etc. Just makes it way easier to sort.
I think this is the first time ive watched jake. His energy for the game and excitement when talking about his stuff in the vault makes me want to really get back into playing. Of course ill play when the new season starts, but i mean now.
You need a maximum of 27 Small Rice Cakes. They are used on the Jade Rabbits on the Moon of which there are 9. They are character specific, therefore max 27. After you spend one cake on each, I'm 90% sure there's no point to them, and honestly might be able to be deleted all at once afterwards. The Hymn of Desecration is used in the Pit of Heresy dungeon to get an extra loot drop from one of the encounters. You can get more of these by doing weekly bounties on the Moon.
The rice cakes from the moon are for the hidden jade rabbits. Once all jade rabbits have been collected, you receive a shader as a reward. If you've already got the shader, you may as well delete the cakes as they're useless
Love this series. Only one thing that grates when I watch these is when they delete a duplicate at a higher light level and keep the lower one, surely actually just want to infuse in these cases
thats a waste of enhancement cores considering he might not even use it that season a waste in general to update your gear to light level at all times if you don't even use half of it.
Avanche is one of my go to machine guns. I use it for the totems encounter in kings fall. It kills everything easily and I can just stow it and run to my spot and not have to reload it and worry about dying.
This aged like milk on the streets of Arizona… Dato has single handedly, after the TWAB this week, become villain #1 of the entire community due to this.
While adaptive munititions is good, it is never optimal. I could see keeping it in case it gets buffed...but that could be never. The only time you ever bring this is when you meet the following requirements all at the same time: 1. 3 elemental shield types in a match game activity. 2. You use that weapon type to stun champions. Otherwise youd be better off having an energy primary and a kinetic special weapon (likely arbalest for anti barrier/damage or a sniper/blinding gl/witherhorde/etc). You ignore that first one if you are trying to solo it or have teammates that refuse to match elements of things you cant cover (imo id never save abilities to pop shields. Weapons are almost always better)
The irony that knucklehead radar is effing amazing now lol. Radar while aiming, enhanced radar when crouched, wall hacks, damage increase to marked targets, airborne effectiveness. Like, that's an absolutely LOADED exotic
I've spent the last week making armor builds, unlocking every piece of armor in my vault, locking everything that's in a build as a way to keep track of what's in these like 20 builds. It does get more complicated the more you do, since you have to make sure that you have the correct elements. D2 Armor Picker doesn't have a good "ignore elements on unlocked armor" option, so some of the stuff I'm okay with changing is masterworked stuff I haven't used in the past year, while some of the stuff I'm not okay with changing is 9 Mod Energy stuff that's in current builds and I just don't have the Shards to masterwork that much at once. But, I'm looking to delete about 200-250 pieces of armor at the start of the new season ,and I'm so excited. I do really hope once the official in game load out feature happens that we can change elements on Masterworked armor within the API for free, it'd be such a game changer
Yeah, I did the same thing a while back. Unlock every piece of armor to start making builds, move everything to the vault to make it easier to distinguish the good pieces when being moved when using D2Armor, move said pieces to my character via DIM, lock and heart for a piece that's in a build and as I get high stat pieces a 'keep' designation to check in my builds to see if it bumps anything up a tier if not it gets deleted. Lastly, put a note via DIM if the element needs to be changed for a different subclass/mod/build. Luckily I have worked around multiple builds using similar pieces without breaking any elemental affinity wise with one piece or the class item dictating the most important mod for the build (Leg armor seems to be the easiest to interchange as the mods in that category seem to be lacking for my style) but that's just the offset of using similar style mods and not venturing too far off my usual playstyle. However, the stat distribution gets weird/hard when certain subclasses and their aspects/fragments have +/- a stat or two. Like you said I hope for API sake and the fact they're bringing loadouts in game that they remove the cost associated with changing elemental affinities. It's just another resource that bogs us down. Us veteran players I would say it doesn't matter all "too" much but for new players it can be overwhelming I would imagine.
Yeah, it also means that there's some armors (helmets for example) where I want it to be solar for double bomber, but if I could change it on the fly to arc for the double melee super I would. It just means I end up having High Resilience + Discipline, High Recovery + Discipline, High Resilience + Strength, and high Recovery + Strength... And then I need that in 2-3 elements. Because I can't have the same stats, it means I often need a full other armor set to end up having the math work out, and it's so frustrating because I can literally be using the same Heart of Inmost Light build, but changing one minor thing (like going from Arc grenade Spam to a Stasis or Solar Melee spam) and I basically need a complete new set of armor. And often completely different builds will have one piece of overlap, but you need it to be two different elements so the build doesn't work, and again, a whole extra set of armor ends up being the result. When really I just want to change the helmet element for free, and delete ~66% of my armor
11:05 Looking back at this a year later after the knucklehead and foetracer changes and seeing that knucklehead is like the third most used hunter exotic even with all the radar manip of prismatic hunter is giving me a decent chuckle.
The only gun that really broke my heart that got disassembled was the heroes burden with feeding frenzy and repulsor brace. It's really good for void titans, it allows you to dump bastion for controlled demo and bulwark, it really opens up a more aggressive tanky playstyle since overshields got a buff. But I suppose if your a hunter main it's not that big of a deal.
I loved Jake's mindset compared to how others like Aztecross or Frostbolt handled their vault cleanings. Like bruh, YOU signed up to have your vault cleaned, not to argue with Pappa Datto on why he shoulnd't delete his Under-Dog/HIR Cold Denial. Like, no, you're never making a video on it my guy. Proud of you for having no fear to delete
That 69 Shard's had terrible splits. Just because it's a higher number doesn't mean it's better than a lower one, especially if it's only a couple points. The one that was spikey in recov was much better despite Resilience being better atm but none had spikey res so the recov one is better by default.
Legendary armor maxes at 68. exotics can go over that, but it's rare. An armor set maxes at T27 non-masterwork. With a 68 exotic, the minimum stats you can have on legendary armor to reach T27 is a 62 roll. I dumpster any armor below a "True" 62. that means even if a piece of armor is a 65, if it has a bunch of odd numbers; I subtract 1 from that stat to see it's "True Stat". A "True 62" fits is at least minimum, and fits in easily into builds. I'd also apply this to Exotics if they have some weird odd numbers like 3's or if you have ideal mobility stats.
Blows my mind Datto thinks u need melee kills to proc swashbuckler. "Melee OR KILLS WITH THIS WEAPON". It's like rampage only it procs 2 ways instead of 1. Ignore any sidearm talk too. Great shotgun counter.
i must be a normy person Datto. haha.. i love watching these.. it helps me clear my vault as well. Thanks Jake and Datto.. i was torn between pvp and pve builds.. any advise anyone.. pvp hunter/warlock/titan builds help and pve same... just to clean my armor in my vault

Your vault makes mine look like a 100,000 square foot warehouse with a single piece of paper ("I suck at Destiny 2" written on it) laying on the floor in the middle surrounded by nothing!
I'm left utterly speechless that Jake has a level 177 (almost 178) crafted enigma. Bro I had a hard time bearing with it just to get to lvl 30 for the enhanced perks. I've never seen a crafted weapon that high of a level, let alone a damn glaive of all things
1:16:00 Man Datto fucks up here hard. The reason swashbuckler is a god tier perk on a bow is because all it takes is one melee/powered melee kill to give all 5 stacks of swash instantly which turns the bow into a oneshot headshot. And getting it isn't even that hard to proc, because one bow headshot followed by a powered melee is sometimes enough to be 100% of someone's HP, depending on their resil and your powered melee. Which means you can just reliably do that close/medium range if you've got high strength.
Idk how datto could say that fatebringer was good except osmosis. It's a super slept on perk espeshally when running void for volatile rounds makes ur primary make explosions. I love it on my last breath wiith subsistance.

"This thing sucks" as he deletes Osmiomancy Gloves. Meanwhile, I just watched Mactics' and Imagine's Warlock playbook, and I'm salivating at the chance to try the build, which relies on Osmiomancy Gloves. Different strokes, I guess.
He is checking the status level without the mods... for example: an armor peice that is 66, then masterworked (+12) brings it to 78. But when you add mods, specifically like mobility or intellect mods, the stat goes up. So you have to remove it to see what the base level is. Most people don't want to keep anything lower than 66 preferably unless it's part of an even stat build.
Regarding the Unforgiven SMG, TRUST ME when i tell you you need this specific roll > Flaired magwell, demolitionist, frenzy, reload MW. CONGRATS> you just got the best PVE smg in the entire game right after Osteo Striga.
U missing something. Repulsor brace is getting a damage reduction buff. Demo+ Repulsor brace and flared with a reload master work, would be the best way to go
@@Lonzology Might be a good alternative indeed, but till everything is tested it still beats all my funnelwebs with subsistence + frenzy and substince + adrenaline junkie by FAR.
I have one with demo/adrenaline junkie... want golden tricorn instead for 50% extra damage. I do want flared magwell and reload speed mw though.. base reload is painful

bro datto has the worst "whats good in this current moment" mentality.... talking about main ingredient when its getting nerfed in 2 days lmaoooo
Hey Jake. You’re videos are very enjoyable and make a great filler on coffee breaks during the night shift
Can I trouble you for a stack or two of those enhancement cores?
Jake already knows what to delete 🤣
Entertaining video non the less
if datto was a DS boss i would call him "Datto , vanquisher of vaults"
Curious as to why you take off the stat mod before dismantling the armor?
He is checking the status level without the mods... for example: an armor peice that is 66, then masterworked (+12) brings it to 78. But when you add mods, specifically like mobility or intellect mods, the stat goes up. So you have to remove it to see what the base level is. Most people don't want to keep anything lower than 66 preferably unless it's part of an even stat build.
Well done for manning up Jake xD Was fun to watch
Also, happy holidays and blessings your way Jake! Much love!
I do want flared magwell and reload speed mw though.. base reload is painful
this aged well💀
100k on bygones?!
Ngl, out of everyone, Datto is the last person I'd pick to clean out my vault lol.
sounds like you got a lot of trash in your landfill😂
Hah I feel that!
@@andrewmoyer6076 I just have some sunset stuff from like back in vanilla D2 that ik he'd want me to get rid of. But I'll never do it, a lot of the stuff in my vault you can't obtain anymore. I don't use much vault space anyway.
@@leaf2180so stuff you can literally get from collections with static rolls? Lol they better have massive kill counters
@@xchirs_ pfft, the stuff in collections have poopoo ass rolls. I only keep weapons if they have good rolls.
Bungie should absolutely introduce armor/weapon trading. That way us casuals can be blessed by the 69s the Mister Jake is throwing out the window!
God damn that's proof he did the enhancement core glitch
The meta change for knucklehead aged welll
my man went from I need everything to...meh I play enough DELETE IT ALL hahaha
this video exists because of a dismantled Inquisitor with perpetual motion and opening shot. silver linings people
why is the video so crunchy at max resolution
I have been waiting for this one
We're going to do it like an hour no no no we can take our time LOL...
Gernader "over the top PC uber alles care about everyones feelings" Jake.....
