    girl if I cut ALL the damage of my hair, im gonna end up bald

    • @NashBravo13
      @NashBravo13 7 років тому +44

      Haha same! I'm doing my own curly hair journey and the amount of damage I have on my head would basically make me bald lol. The big chop is good. But what I don't agree on is not trimming after you've cut your hair. You still want to maintain your hairs health by trimming every 3-4 months. Makes your hair grow faster! Just a tip :)

    1. get rid of hair ties with those metal bands, satin ones/scrunchies are very helpful
    2. cut off damaged/split ends. Salon or home.
    3. Dont trim when not needed. Don't do trims out of habit. Trims are to make sure you cut off all damage so youre left with all healthy hair.
    4. no heat
    5. Don't brush your hair, period. Wide toothed comb or finger detangling. Only when wet & conditioned
    6. Buns! A really good protective style.
    7. Massage your scalp, fingers or buy a electronic vibrating one
    8. Drink water! Eat your veggies !
    9.Wear your bonnet!! Or switch to satin pillow cases !!
    10. Don't wash your hair; try to shampoo less. Shampoo once a week
    11. Learn how to braid ur own hair well!! Good protective style, lasts long encourages growth
    12. Put olive oil in your hair
    13.Deep condition & do oil treatments. key to hair growth and healthy hair is moisture
    14.remove stress. stress is bad for all types of health. Especially for hair health
    15.Dont bleach your hair. Bleach = major damage
    16. Get enough sleep !!

    Tip: Instead of using a shampoo with sulfates you can buy african black soap and use it as a shampoo. A 1 lb tub of the authentic stuff is $7 on amazon and it lasts for like a year!

    • @rockittylima2384
      @rockittylima2384 7 років тому +5

      Aaliyah Dailey how good is the African black soap on hair I never tried it

    • @aaliyahdailey31
      @aaliyahdailey31 7 років тому +10

      Rockitty Lima It works really well for me. I dilute about 2 tbsp of it in 8 oz of water, let it dissolve, and its great. It lathers and cleans without stripping my hair. My hair is fine yet pretty thick, so Im not sure how it will work on thinner hair.

    Made complete sense, maybe cause I know what you mean. I try to sit and cut the ends of my hair individually lol. And you are so correct.... LADIES STOP CUTTING YOUR HAIR!!!! Keep on top of your ends, and you will be good. I never use heat on my hair, my vice is dying my hair, so I use anything I can to keep my hair hydrated. Thanks for the video lovely!! I agreed with everything you said! I follow these tips completely! The conditioner tip, is what I keep trying to tell everyone to do! No one believe me, and I hardly use shampoo. Buns are the best!! Especially a nice loose bun 🥰😍 love it 😍🥰. Thanks again sweety!!

  • @divine2110

    I really agree with cutting your ends because I have high porosity hair, very dry. Sometimes I forget but I just very carefully snip away the split see through parts of my ends and then twist up my hair. My hair stays for moisturized and much shinier. I telling y'all trim those damaged ends!

    Hey Lana, I was watching this video of yours at 11:33pm, I'm gonna make sure that your last tip will be my first one. You inspired me to really take care of my curls, I've gotten a undercut which I regret so much now after watching your video. I've been avoiding all heat for the last year and my curls have never looked better thanks to you. Most days when I go to school, my hair is usually down or in a pony tail, I'm gonna stop doing both now especially cause its slowly coming into winter. I can't to watch even more of your amazing videos. Thank you Lana, truely. #Curlyhairpower

    So cut only the split ends? I lost like 5 inches at the salon the last time I went in for a trim and shape up. I complained that he took too much off. He missinterpreted what I wanted because he already had an idea of what he wanted to do.

    • @LanaSummer

      I trip my own ends. Just get hair cutting scissors and trim your tips. I haven't gotten an actual hair cut in a couple of years. My hair is growing a lot faster then just getting a "trim" from the salon. I also recommend using coconut oil hair masks once a week.

    • @edwardskimoni
      @edwardskimoni 6 років тому +7

      DynamicUnoTea I asked my friend best friend who is a beautician to trim only my split ends. And I showed her what (Needed) to come off which was less than half an inch. She ended up layering my curly hair . Looking in the mirror I was devastated she did what SHE Wanted to do. Be careful not to put total trust in a Beautician. Some can be scissor triggered and most of your hair will be gone when you walked in with a head full with length.

    also!! protective styles such as buns are good in moderation! but I work in a salon and I cannot tell you how many (almost all) girls come in with breakage from where their buns or ponytails sit all the time! this is because the hair is heavy, and if its constantly weighing down on the same spt the hairs on top will break and this can cause frizz as well! buns and ponytails are best when placed at the base of your head! but, even better, braids are perfect because the weight is completely evently distributed. Just be sure the braid isnt too tight!

    Careful about the not brushing thing! Leaving tangles can be just as damaging! Instead, take a comb or a wetbrush and start at the ends of your hair and work your way up! This is the best way to prevent ripping hair out! Also, a leave in conditioner spray can really help with detangling!

    Any hair tye will cause breakage. Not just the metal clasp ones. Use scrubchies or clips or don't use hair tyes at all. It's not going to encourage it to grow. It's going to cause a stress point and break off. Especially curly hair. And a bun is not a protective style either. It's not good for your hair.

    Try Maui hair care products and Curl Blueberry Bliss, designed for all curly hair types with all natural ingredients. Blueberries, mangos, coconut oil, seed oils...The shampoos, conditioners and hair moisturizers and hair butter leaves my hair super soft and very shiny and silky. I have naturally wavy to curly hair and I get a lot of compliments because of the Maui and Blueberry Bliss products I use on my hair. The scent is amazing! It smells so good!!

    Thank you I've been saying that. If you want long hair STOP CUTTING IT! Just do a final hair chop! And that's it. Once your hair is healthy. Use no heat and watch how you have no spilt ends. No need to cut
