  • Spring is here, and gardening is ready to start. Planting zucchini, tomatoes coming up, getting ready to plant cucumbers, container gardening, inground gardening, onions growing everywhere, potatoes growing in buckets, totes on chairs, elevated raised bed gardening. All this makes gardening, wonderful and easy for any age. Perfect for the beginner gardener. And all the birds are starting to nest. There are eggs and babies everywhere.

Starting pepper seeds, peas, tomatoes, squash indoors, in different methods, with no drain holes to keep plants well watered.

I appreciate it. My husband has been healing from a trucking accident for 2 years or just a few weeks short. I needed a peaceful place to relax.
I love photographing wildlife, and growing flowers, I also have a birdsnbirdbaths channel. I started making birdbaths targeted for Hummingbirds. But all the birds Love them so to keep hummingbirds in their own space, I try to focus on what brings them happily to my yard. My husband is Air Force Vetran, and we enjoy our hummingbird air show daily when they're around.

Hi Robbie, Here in Cathedral City it is currently 89 degrees, whew! I have Red Vein Sorrel and Swiss Chard all washed and ready to saute for dinner. You inspired me and I just got back from our local Dollar Tree and I bought a new digging fork and 13 of the car sunshades for less than $20. Your great idea should help here in our summer heat. Thank you!

Ok thanks because I have been considering to grow in the Rancho Mirage area. The native soil there is basically sand. I was wondering how you did it. 😂

@@Patricia_562 I use Miracle Gro potting mix and add slo release veg fertilizer, blood meal, bone meal and worm castings mixed in well. I set up the totes/containers
the way Robbie does with all kinds of compostable materials. Before I plant, I put one of the plastic pitchers in the tote/container and add kitchen scrapes daily that break down and feeds the plants through holes in the bottom as they grow.

I just loved your garden tour! I think your geraniums are awesome! I'm in N.Y and our nights are not steady in 50s yet and only when we get a warm rain. Our last frost date is around May 15th but last year my tomatoes got hit with frost past that date but survived. We also have been getting more rain than sun this spring. I grow the Swamp Milkweed here and the Monarchs love it. The Tropical Milkweed here wouldn't survive and is not native. I love the pretty Orange flowers on it though. And your absolutely right. Just cut it back at the end of the season.

34 degrees in WA state tonight 60s days 36 for a few nights after we had 80s last week. Cold and wind moved back in. Scored 3 more totes today one big. Got a Cubii peddle thing for $7.00 They are expensive new. Our thrift stores sell totes for $.99, $1.99 and big ones $2.99. Waiting for my tulle to get here from TX. The mice were eating my pea and spinach plants until I put tulle over the top of the totes. The spinach grew like crazy in a couple days. Should have 2 rows of peas all along the fence but nope just a few here and there. Birds, mice, bad seed???grrrrrrr!
