I'm shocked that kick is coming from the Derphinger. Not that I need that sort of kick but tickle me impressed. Outro was excellent as usual. Such a simple setup with an amazing varied range. Kudos to you, great job, fun happy times!!!
Have really enjoyed these Plaits videos, but also how you can do so much with just a handful of modules. It's inspired me to try patching things differently, rather than an fx or reverb per voice, but grouping everything and running through a daisy chain of effects has been really fun and inspiring! Thank you for your videos, long may they continue!
The final jam was super cool.. had to double check if i am still watching a tutorial on plats dx7 or i has switched to some unrelease thom yorke track hah, well done, as always
yeah I had to switch computers to get the firmware upgrade. not seamless. So I’m with you on the patch replacements. I will test on a clone I bought for this purpose prior to messaging with my Mutable..
Question about the editor: If I want to replace just a FEW sounds of a bank, I understand it will create a new WAV file to load them all up, but does it just keep the stock ones in the slots I didn't touch? If not, is there a place to get the .sysx files of the individual stock sounds? Looking forward to some 6OP FM sounds on my plaits!
5:07 you said morph input and I see "must be played in Plait's TIMBRE input" and then you connect it to the timbre imput :p so, not morph ! and nice jams btw ;)

That's amazing, thanks. I'll be loading this into plaits tonight😅 I'm very curious as to what is maths doing in this patch. As far as I can tell you're sending it the CV channel from the keystep (aftertouch or mod wheel?) And then it's triggering the other channel? But what do they do?
I’m using maths to shape the gate coming from the keystep, going to the trig in. For some reason the key triggers can overlap and go out of tune, and shortening the gate with an envelope fixes that. I read on a forum that it only happens with keysteps but I haven’t tried any other controllers to test that theory :)
@@Lcrymlgy it seems to be going to different places in the different patches. Sometimes going to the cutoff of the dual dagger, or other times modulating parameters in Plaits, and sometimes it's not doing anything :)
The FM engine in Plaits plays DX7 sysex patches so it's literally identical to playing a DX7. The Volca FM2 also uses the same DX7 patches so all three should sound identical :)
I am curious why the power supply module? I have the nifty case and a few of the same modules. Is there a reason you don't use the power supply built into the nifty case?

Thanks for your comment! I think because I come from a guitar background I'm used to have one guitar go through a chain of FX :)

Wonder if there’s a possibility of adding alt. Wave tables to Plaits..? 🤔

It’s nice but it’s a very thin sounding dx style sound, I think the Volca fm2 would be a big upgrade from this

I got it second-hand and the power supply is faulty. Cre8 audio are sending out a replacement when they have it back in stock :)

Awesome thanks. What are you using for delay/reverb?
For reverb I’m mostly using the black hole algorithm on the fx aid, and sometimes the beads reverb. Also using beads in delay mode occasionally:)
Looking back at this video. Great stuff as usual. The sysex website seems to be down... Any alternatives you would recommend?
